Have any game ideas you don't mind sharing or don't [yet] have the means to actualize yourself? Talk about 'em here to inspire plagiarism fellow developers!

  • Bring back cutting tall grass in the overworld
  • Make pokemon following the PC a non-compulsory but optional mechanic
  • Advanced (competitive meta) opponent AI*
    • AI can use healing items to the same frequency as the player / if the AI can't use healing items, nor can the player
  • Make Set/Switch battles compulsory
  • Bring back toggle running
  • Bring back Horde, SOS, Triple & Rotation battles
  • Autosave
  • Rebattleable NPC trainers[/bosses] for grinding (but not through line of sight, so you're not stopped by NPCs with every step you take -.-)
  • Bring back "ghosts" from Gen 1 Pokemon Tower 
  • Non-static generic battle backgrounds
  • "Fly" travelling across the overworld, as opposed to just quick travel
  • 6+ pokemon battles 1.0
  • Show battle turn numbers; record of stat drops/buffs; basically Showdown & keep Gen 7 battle system

I think I just spoiled my game oops

Leniency in the order you can/have to beat Gyms etc: not necessarily in any order you want, but for example Grass would always be first, but then you could choose either Fire or Water as 2nd, whereas the other one is 3rd and so on and so forth.

Seasonal pokemon forms, plant like pokemon in general would probably go under different seasonal changes like deerling does, I'd love to see someone take that and fully implement that into game

Pokemon Contest like Hoenn anime

Gyms like in the Orange Islands

2p exploration I'd love to go around with my friends and do double battles like having Cheryl in Eterna forest with you permanently

Something I was thinking about was making legendary raid-esque boss fights, you fight against a legendary with highly increased HP and empowered moves with 3 of your pokemon out at a time, trying to chip away at it while carefully managing your own team. Of course, certain moves like Perish Song would have no effect, and status effects would automatically be healed every few turns, so you need to keep reapplying them.

 

Also, field moves from Pokemon Ranger, they allow you to access hidden areas/shortcuts provided you have a pokemon with a suitable move in your team.

 

Finally, if a level cap is implemented, allow you to store excess experience so it isn't wasted.
