Quick question about eggs!

So i just did the lucario event and got the riolu egg and was curious about if i save before the egg hatches can i reload until i come across a shiny one or will i have to breed it? Couldnt find a straight up answer in the forums :/

I know that for day care eggs that at  acquisition is determined what comes out of it. So I assume this is the same is for event eggs. Guess you will have to breed.

If I remember correctly, I saved the game just before it hatched, in order to get a Pokemon with a different nature. So it should be possible to get a shiny as well. Though Im not sure of it.

all the factors of the pokemon in the egg (nature, IV's, shinyness etc) is determined the moment the egg is generated, which in this case is when it is picked up

The egg is set once you pick it up so saving after the initial pick up won't change anything you MUST save before grabbing the egg and don't save until you have it hatched to what u want or feed it lots of ice cream and evolve it then breed till u get what nature and stuff you want or ask online many people breed them
