Not entirely true. You can obtain either Banettite or Heracrossite. Aside from that, yeah, no Mega Stones or Mega Ring.

 

Charizard is not that bad, but surely you should have realized that you wouldn't have gotten Charizardite X because it would have broken the game's balance wide open.

To be fair, so does Speed Boost Blaziken.

The difference is that, unless they remove Torchic as a starter option altogether, there's nothing that can be done about that.

Unless you got one as a Jackpot starter, Eevee is only available after Ep 16 story is complete, from the Kimono sisters event.  Like in Reborn, you can get Sylveon after leveling up Eevee at Max happiness, while it knows a Fairy type move (learned at level 9).

 

Snivy is only available as a starter at the moment, unless I am remembering incorrectly.
