Ghoul the Gastly! Oni the Honedge! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Waking up on the floor of Julias powerplant after a nights sleep, was not that bad. While it was very uncomfortable and the electricity has made my hair take forms that hair should not naturally look like, I can get use to this sleeping arrangement. Better than out in the streets. I leave her gym and Victoria greets me, she says that Obsidia wards residents are being attacked by... Living plants? She hurries away to go to Obsidia ward... Well that was, strange. I need to go investigate this myself. There are police guards blocking my way to Obsidia however... Luckily we meet Florinia at the blockage and she allows us access into Obsidia ward... Provided we help with the killer plants. Upon entering the Ward I already see plant life taking over the ward... I gotta do something about this. I visit a daycare owned by an elderly couple. Because I heard some people that were still in Obsidia say that they were acting strange. Which they are, and I unmask them after some time as members of team meteor... Great. And I battle them. After beating them I find out the real day care owners are far away. Great, another thing on my to-do list. In my attempts to try to find a way to help, I find out the only way to get to where I need to be is through the slums, but Victoria is there and tries to stop me... Sigghhh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Victoria Spoiler She leads with a Ralts and Ghoul is able to kill it in a few Licks. Only taking 9 damage in the process. Sadly Ghoul can't fare as well against Pignite, so I switch to Levi and he kills Pignite quite easily, just by poisoning him with Smog and a couple Night shades. Makuhita comes in and Levi burns him (Can you handle the heat, Victoria?) He force palms, only dealing enough damage to bring levi down to 10 health. Another two night shades kill Makuhita before he can get off two Force palms. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After defeating her she lets us enter the slums, deeming that I can take care of myself... Wait she had doubts? How old does she think I am? I'm not some 12 year old that has a mental breakdown at the sight of something scary or sad! She wasn't wrong about the Slums though... Wow that place is creepy, shady, and any other verb that ends in "y" (Happy? No that doesn't fit...) after a bit of trecking through the slums a scraggy leads me into a "Gang" of Scraggy + a Scrafty... This could be troublesome, a bunch of dark types versus my three ghost types... (And my two HM slaves, Kricketot and Pachirisu, don't worry you two, you weren't forgotten.) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Average Gangsters The Scraggy/Scrafty Gang Spoiler I lead with Levi and Oni, Levi so he can will-o-wisp anything that comes at us, and Oni so he can get mad damage in with Fury cutter, possibly set up a Swords dance. Oni ends up being able to setup two swords dances and an Autotomize. When Levi dies Ghoul comes in and Confuse rays everything. Which works and we win (Luckily halfway through the fight Oni levels up and learns Aerial ace) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After getting past all that in the slums I head into Coral as some police officers are blocking my path, and I meet a blue haired girl (Wonder if that's her natural hair color) and she's trying to get an Oshawott that's trapped to safety (Poor guy) Lucky for us Cain shows up and... Begins singing? Well that's not all, he sends a grimer over to get the Oshawott off of the platform with what looks like a Lighthouse on it. Oshawott rides the grimer to safety (Yay!) Also apparently this blue haired girl is named Amaria and is one of the highest ranking gym leaders (Based on every gym leader so far dressing based on what type they lead, I assume she's water) Oshawott won't stop following Cain after he saved him though, so Cain now has an Oshawott (Already breaking that poison thing you had going on, really Cain?) And we battle him to give Oshawott a work out! Allthough unfortunately for me I'm still weak from the slums and I only have Oni remaining... Uh oh. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Cain Spoiler I set up a couple swords dances and sweep him with Shadow sneak. My breathing was intense... I should be more careful, luckily Oni is more than capable of defeating his foes. But if that wasn't Cain it was a life or death battle... I don't want to think about it. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Amaria tells us that she's also trying to help Florinia with the demon plants and tells us to head up to Obsidia so we can help! Although I do make sure to heal this time, we have no idea what could be coming up. We meet up with Amaria and Rini. Amaria gives us the HM for cut so we can get into where the source of these plants is. They both end up getting trapped by plants because they went ahead of me... Better them than me... I end up meeting a man named ZEL who introduces himself as three different people, (Zero, Eve, and Lumi) while saying they collectively are ZEL. This guys got some sort of split personality. They (he?) tells us about something known as PULSE Tangrowth, and how it's the thing causing this plant hell. And to try to kill us I guess, he battles us using their "Pulse Tangrowth" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Z(ero)E(ve)L(umi) Spoiler I lead with Levi and immediatly Will-O-Wisp this... Abomination. He acid sprays, dealing hardly anything. The battle then turns to Levi using Night shade and Tangrowth using Acid spray until Levi... Kills the Tangrowth... Huh, apparently all of that things Sp. Def means nothing when you do a set amount of damage every attack. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After the thing is beaten almost all of the plants disperse and ZEL disapears. With Amaria and Rini free, Rini tells us to meet her at her gym for a challenge. While Amaria heads to the Grand hall to report to Ame about how big of a threat Team Meteor is becoming... If memory serves me right they are those people in the weird black outfits, sort of look like dolls... Yeah them. For the first time since we arrive in Reborn, my ghosts begin guiding me. The same ghostly voice and shadow that's always followed me begins directing me into a house behind where the Tangrowth was. There's a key in this house, then the voice begins directing me back to coral, and to unlock a warehouse... The day care couple! Boom, check that off my to-do list! Wow... I put saving people on my to-do list... Probably not a good thing that they weren't at the top of the list. I try to get into the School/Gym.. But Fern locks me out! I don't know why, but because of this, I end up going through the entire school, fighting the students/Trainers and answering a bunch of stupid questions on monitors. Then Fern tries to stop me again! To no avail, of course. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Fern Spoiler I show this asshole who's boss, I send in Oni and simply repeatedly attack with Fury Cutter. Not only is he weak to it, but the move gets stronger the more it's used in succession. This simple and basic strategy destroys his Lombre and Servine, nearly also killing his Roselia, but the thing is just a bit to strong. However he wasted two super potions. But I simply send in Levi and destroy the Roselia. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After I win he tries to put words in my mouth, making it seem like I mean things that I don't, he then claims he's going to join the Reborn league. Then flees. I then finally get to challenge Florinia... Lets do this. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Florinia (Rini) Spoiler I lead with Oni and set up three sword dances, I then proceed to use the same Fury cutter strategy that was used against Fern, this strategy allows me to defeat her Maractus, Breloom, Ferroseed, Cacnea, Cottonee... AND CRADILY! I could barely contain my excitement... Oni was this powerful!!! He just swept her entire team! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- She gifts me the Canopy badge and the TM for nature power. And requests that I help take out the plants that have now arrose in the Beryl and Jasper wards. Of course I will! Why wouldn't I... But first, it's pretty late. Time to return to Julia's gym for a nights sleep. Lets see if my idea for making sure Julia can't snore or blow anything up will work.... Ghoul the Gastly! Oni the Honedge! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Anyone remember me? Well all my personal business has been resolved and I can return to my ghost monotype! Now, updates won't be consistent, but at least expect me to try and update this whenever I am able to! Anyway, lets get onto the adventure! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once again I wake up with my hair standing in ways it should not, although it was a bit more manageable this night because I figured out a way to keep Julia quiet. Side note, Julia doesn't appear to able to drown. She can either hold her breath for a long time (While sleeping) or she's a Zombie... I was informed that I should head to Jasper as there is another PulseGrowth there... But I was told that yesterday, I hope no one died while I was sleeping... Well it would mean more ghosts... Then I realize something, (Past Jasper is Beryl... And there's a cemetery in Beryl... Lucifer! It is my mission to get there now) So with a new found Determination, I head into Jasper. And find the same hell as Obsidia. Plants everywhere, hostile pokemon roaming... On the bright side, my demons and I should feel fine in hell. I first head into what looks like a police station, in here I find out that there are five missing police officers, the chief asks of me if I could find them and get them to report back to the station, to which I of course oblige. I then proceed throughout the ward, and find a team meteor grunt, to which I destroy. But after the battle, something weird happens to ghoul... He changes, glowing a blue light and morphing. I realize this can only be one thing (Evolution) what once was a Gastly is now a Haunter, and that is a very good thing, I'll need all the power I can muster. Upon more exploration I fight rogue trainers, rescue police officers and innocent civilians, fight Team meteor, and pick up on traces of Lucifer. (This rag smells like bagels... This beedrill was killed by a ghost that wasn't one of my current three... My ring begins very, very faintly glowing like it always does when I'm near him) Lucifer is close by. A little bit later I enter the Malchous forest where I encounter many Team Meteor grunts and a mysterious important looking person with a scarf. He introduces himself as a member of team meteor and is named Taka, he seems nice, but he challenged me... Awww... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Taka Spoiler I lead with Levi and Flame burst his Lileep, dealing about half and setting the field aflame. He confuses Levi, he then acids me, barely doing a thing. And I break through confusion and kill Lileep. I switch to Haunter and manage to decay Chatot by a bit until Haunter goes down. Super potion gets used. Levi then manages to kill Chatot. Levi then kills Pulse Tangrowth with a couple flame bursts. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Taka then tells us about the Beryl wards chaos which we already knew about... And then a strange pink haired girl flies in on a salamance and scolds us for beating Taka.. Ummm? You do realize I just stopped a horrible attack on Jasper, right? WHO CARES IF YOU WANTED TO DO IT YOURSELF. Anyway... After she leaves I head into Beryl just to find another plant hell, upon entering I head into another forest, seems exactly like the previous one. After a bit of walking a step on a pile of leaves to try and get an item... But this was a trap setup by a few nuzleaf and I get stuck in a makeshift cage. After a couple minutes Fern walks up to the cage and begins laughing his head off. For him to let me out, he asks for me to beg... Well, I have no idea how else I'm going to get out... Wait, what the hell, I'm an idiot! I refuse Ferns help and tell him to watch this. I send out Oni, grab him by the hilt, and slice through this pathetic wooden cage. That stupid grin of his falls flat. He just walks away without any comment. Serves him right. I re-enter the beryl ward and find three people... Two of which I recognize as ZEL and Taka... And another third man? Alongside the PULSE containing another Tangrowth... I must shut this down! But before it is enacted, the pink haired girl known as Heather appears and enters battle with the mysterious third man. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Z(ero) E(ve) L(umi) and Taka Spoiler I lead with Ghoul and Oni, To make this fight easier I setup a few sword dances with Oni, since it is just a glaceon and Lileep, there isn't much to worry about. I use Ghoul to send confuse rays whenever able. After two turns Ghoul dies to an ice fang and bite. I send in Levi as a replacement. On the third turn Oni is now +6 and has taken no damage due to them focusing Ghoul and Levi... Dear god this is going to be a massacre. Lileep dies in one Aerial ace. And Glaceon is brought to about half health from a Flame burst.Tangrowth comes in. Glaceon misses ice fang and Tangrowth mega drains Levi, doing barely anything. Tangrowth takes a Flame burst and Aerial ace and lives with Barely any health. Super potion is used on Tangrowth, Levi takes a bite with about 10% remaining. Flame burst kills Glaceon and Tangrowth is at about 5% health due to aerial ace. Tangrowth is brought back and Chatot is sent in to take an Aerial ace, Espeon future sights someone. I use a hyper potion to heal Levi. Chatot dies to aerial ace. Espeon Psybeams Levi doing about half, and Oni kills Espeon with Fury cutter, Tangrowth also dying to a flame burst from Levi. Umbreon comes in and dies to one fury cutter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Once again Oni carries us. Zel and Taka escape and the mystery man tries to, but thanks to all the police we saved he is caught before he can escape. He is revealed to be... Corey the third gym leader? And Heathers father..? Oh my... After his identity is revealed he escapes somehow. And the officers head to his gym. I try to follow but a voice calls out to me... A pained, somber voice. It beckons me into the cemetery, urging me to one of the graves. I can hear the sounds of someone crying, but no one is near. I read the name on the grave and I'm shocked to see what is written on it. Sage Loun 1997 - 2018 "She died to her own stupidity... But she is still mourned" What? Why am I on here... I... I'm not dead! But the date is for the future... The near future... I hear the voice again, and it beckons me to look behind the grave... I do and at first all I see is the darkness of the night... But I soon see it... Lucifer! I've found you! I grab him as much as I can grab a ghost and pull him closer. Welcome back, my friend... The voice can be heard again, the sobbing can no longer be heard, but the voice sounds sad... Full of... Pity? The words are almost unrecognizable... "A shattered tomb, a forgotten death..." The tombstone with my name on it is gone. I suddenly find myself on the floor of the Beryl pokemon Center. Lucifer beside me, staring. Oh right! I need to head to the gym! I get up and begin making my way towards the gym, completely unaware of the new item in my bag. The policemen have turned, but the voice guided me to find the real corey in a hidden room. His anger is clear and he heads to the field for a battle. If I lose... I will die. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS Corey Spoiler This was another Oni Sweep... The poison could do nothing to him and due to the poison amplifying most attacks, even Skrelps water attacks couldn't touch Oni. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After I win Corey tells me to meet him at the Beryl bridge, upon leaving the gym I see what appears to be an Absol on the roof of the building. Strange... What's the disaster pokemon doing here? On the bridge he... Releases all of his pokemon? What? He tells me how his wife had died and about some special Ruby Ring... And then he approaches the ledge, gets onto the ledge, and before I even realized what was about to happen, he jumped. I ran to the edge and looked down to just see a bloody mess... "Wow what a moron" Fern appears behind me. "Did that dumb-wad really throw himself off the brid-gah!" Before he even finishes I hit him over the head with a large rock. There's blood. A lot of Ferns blood. He's not dead, just unconscious. Serves him right. Huh... That's not... Not like me... What's going on? A huge plume of smoke rises near the Grand hall and what sounds like an explosion... JULIA! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And so ends the Chapter 3! The chapter that took me about 5 months to finally update... Sorry? I can't promise that the updates will come at a normal pace now, just that they will be more frequent then 5 months. I don't want to say weekly, I'd say every 2 weeks, maybe? I don't like to make promises based on time. Zellorea Posted December 11, 2017 Author Share Posted December 11, 2017 Chapter 3.5: Bloody Rags -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Before "Chapter 3.5" begins let me just say that I am not finished Chapter 4 yet, I am stuck on Shelly... Like always. And there is not going to be an update next weekend since I'm getting my pc upgraded throughout the week, so I will not have anything to play Reborn on. But I figured I might as well bring an update that is story stuff (Most of the stuff before the first major fight) Also I'd quickly like to thank @Filthy Casual For giving us our latest team member (Yay!) Who will be appearing in this chapter, anyway, lets begin, shall we? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was drawn to the rubble. What started as me rushing towards the grand stairway to figure out what that smoke was and where it was coming from, turned into me being drawn towards the pile of rubble in the coral ward. I could hear the voice as normal but it was very faint and faraway this time, as if it was shouting at me from a different ward. No matter the volume of the voice I was still drawn towards the rubble. I began to move some of the rubble away until I found a few things of interest, for starters a giant sign that had the faded words "Gym" on it, how this was missed earlier I have no idea. I also found some pink floral patterns and decayed, long dead plants/vines strewn around in some places... Hmm... The grass gym is the school so it couldn't have been a grass gym, maybe a fairy one? Then the final thing of interest that probably should've been addressed first, some of the rocks were shaking, as if something was trying to escape... I slowly walked towards the rocks and moved one of them away, only to have something leap out at me. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- VS ??? Spoiler It was a cloth. With black eyes scribbled on, a devilish smile contorted in a maniacal grin, a color suspiciously close to that of blood. With a wooden stick and propped up cloth around the head making it resemble a Pikachu. The more I looked the more I realized that this thing looked like a Pikachu... Oh! How stupid of me... This place was probably a fairy gym once, a thing dressed like a pikachu... This is a Mimikyu! A Ghost/fairy type! This thing would be perfect for my team of ghosts! I send out Ghoul. The Mimikyu moves right past Ghoul and tries to slash me with a shadow claw, I dodge it, barely. Umm... This could be a problem... I have ghoul strike it with a shadow punch while it's back is turned, it connects and seems to do a substantial amount of damage. I reach into my bag and throw out a pokeball... One shake, two shakes, three shakes... NO! I toss another one... One... Two... Three... NO! Another one is thrown... No! IT DIDN'T EVEN SHAKE THAT TIME!!! 20 Pokeballs later One shake.... Two... Three... Click NO!... Wait what? It actually stayed in this time? Haha! Sweet victory! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- With a new team member in the bag (I named her Lilith by the way), quite a few scars from the new team member, and nothing else, I continue my way into Lapis. Apparently the smoke was from an explosion at the grand stairway, well, what else would it be caused by? Anyway it's not like that explosion is going to be my concern or problem in any way whatsoever! I enter lapis. Just past the pokemon center there was a strange building with a purple/blue haired woman standing infront of it, whispering to herself. I approach her and start to ask what she's doing but she quickly excuses herself. A pink haired female leaves after her... Ok? That's a bit strange. I continue walking to where Corey appeared to have fallen and I see two people standing over what looks like a huge splatter of blood.... Well there's the body... One of them is Victoria, no doubt. The other appears to be a young girl with light purplish hair. Why do so many people dye their hair here in lapis... Well I guess Cain also has dyed hair... Same with Julia and Florinia... I should ask if they're from Lapis... Unlikely but still... Oh and that Amaria girl.... WHERE ARE THEY GETTING THE HAIR DYE. WHO IS THE MYSTERIOUS PURPLE HAIRED GIRL (IT'S SHELLY), WHERE THE HELL DO THEY GET ALL THIS HAIR DYE? FIND OUT NEXT TIME ON THE GHOST MONOTYPE RUN, WHERE ONE OF THESE QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED!!! Zellorea Posted December 14, 2017 Author Share Posted December 14, 2017 It's going to take even longer for the next chapter of sage's adventure to come out. Why? Because the USB didn't save. I clearly saved everything I needed during my pc upgrade. But noooo, didn't save any of it. So now I have none of my reborn files, which includes my main save, my psychic playthrough, and the ghost playthrough... So I'm a bit annoyed. It'll return soon, not only did I forget but I've been busy with school lately so even if I did remember I would not have much time Especially with my addiction to league Just, letting you know that it is coming back when I have time. (Again, I hate making promises on time but I' planning on having my progress back to where it was in febuary and then the post being in the first week of march or sooner. I've collected myself and I'm ready to continue. So right now I'm starting the writing process of the next chapter! Should hopefully be soon. EDIT: By "Soon" I mean at most, 2 weeks. Earliest being sometime during march break. FINAL EDIT: I'm discontinuing the run for now. I just don't have enough time and there's other fan games I really wanna play that I won't have time for if eat up all my spare time in this. For example I still really want to finish Rejuvenation. So... yeah. I'll eventually re-update this (Maybe) Might even just give up on the ghost one and make a new run when I'm ready. But for now, this is discontinued.
