I had first conceived my new team, a rain dance team that still fit my normal themes... Incidentally, due to that combination, I've labeled the team Black Haze, after the former member of this site. so I sketched it up on the now-arcane Shoddy, and started watching some battles at random. There was one person on there by the name of ArtemisChant who I noticed was using several Pokemon that I adore, and we got to talking. As is often the case with trainers, talking ended in battling, and so, this was my first battle as I was trying to learn how to use a rain dance team decently: [quote]isshiko sent out Engarde (lvl 100 Gallade ?). The rain continues to fall. --- isshiko: Ah, darn, was expecting Heatproof. AmethystDream: I considered it... isshiko switched in Lazul (lvl 100 Feraligatr ?). AmethystDream switched in Kingdra (lvl 100 Kingdra ?). Pointed stones dug into Lazul. Lazul lost 12% of its health. AmethystDream switched in Starmie (lvl 100 Starmie). Lazul used Swords Dance. Lazul's attack was sharply raised. The rain continues to fall. --- Lazul used Protect. Lazul protected itself! Starmie used Thunder. It's super effective! With it's Chlorophyll-boosted speed, Exeggutor is able to dust the dragon down to sleep, and launches a Psychic attack.. but it'll be a 3HKO... Will Charizard stay asleep? It will! The third psychic finishes it! Kitty chooses... Palkia! However, the sun has faded, and without its speed, Palkia is able to land a hit. Dragon Claw tears Exeggutor down to half health... Kitty switches out Palkia for Rayquaza as Exeggutor recharges the sun! Even with it's double-speed, Rayquaza is faster, and misses with Fire Blast as Exeggutor misses with Sleep Powder... But Rayquaza hits with the sun-boosted Fire Blast, destroying Exeggutor in its entireity.. Ame sends out his own Umbreon! Rayquaza launches a beastly outrage, which... completely destroys Umbreon... nevermind then. Ame sends out, um, Ninetales again! Let's do... so, Will-o-Wisp misses again, and Ninetales is OHKO'd... Poor thing. However, it did it's job- Rayquaza becomes confused! Ame sends out Slowking! We're counting on confusion here.... oh no! Rayquaza flies into the sky! That's okay though, Slowking powers up with Nasty Plot... Rayquaza, however, hurts itself and falls through the air as Slowking powers up again ...It hurts itself a second time, as Slowking launches a triple-charged Psychic attack! Kitty sends out a sleeping Palkia! It's hit with a powered- surf attack, but thanks to the resistances, it doesn't do much still.... Slowking tries a psychic, as Ame always mixes up Dialga and Palkia's types... Palkia falls! Umbreon makes a return... It tears into Slowking with a Shadow Ball attack, but it doing abou 25%, and Umbreon is taken by another Surf. Kitty sends out... Flygon! It uses Dragon Breath, but it doesn't do much either, and Slowking instantly fells it with Surf, ending the match... AmehystStorm is the victor![/quote] ...even if it was all because of confusion... And +2 doubles Sp.A so I call that double-charge, so +4 triples it and is triple-charged. Nyaaaa. But yeah, this really all was luck.
