Reborn goes for an anime-based aesthetic which = anime hair. It's not so much European features as it is anime-inspired style choice. Besides straight hair isn't necessarily European, if anything more east Asians have straight hair compared to europeans which have higher frequencies of wavy/curly in comparison.

Though I get what you mean anyway, in that you want more afro-based hair styles.
