sandiclaws Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hello, this topic may have been solved already, but I can't seem to find the answer so I'm sorry if it's a duplicate. (I'm also sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.... not used to forums) I went to Corey's gym before I did the missing police officer mission, and the back door was open, without me having to do the puzzle. At the time I didn't even know it was a puzzle. Any whosies, when I go into the back room, Corey isn't there. I accidentally skipped over the missing police officer mission in Beryl Ward, until after I had defeated zEL and Taka. I'm not sure if that's the cause (or even a problem to begin with). So I went about my business, did the missing police officer mission, came back to Corey's gym, and the door to the back is still open, and he's still not there. And even when I did the puzzle to turn the switches blue, it didn't change anything. He's still not there. I've checked out some threads, and an updated walkthrough, but it looks like everywhere I go, people did the police officer thing at the same time as they were saving Beryl Ward, it triggered a scene I didn't see (where the Police chief is unmasking the third bad guy that battled Heather), in my game. Instead I just saw a scene with Heather whining about wanting to run away. I'm just unsure if I maybe caused a problem in my game, or if I'm missing something. I've checked the power plant, the graveyard, back tracked, but I can't seem to figure out what I'm missing. Vinny Posted November 4, 2015 Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hmm, the scene doesn't make too much of a difference. It changes some dialogue, and the way the gym is handled. But you can also do it even if all that happens is Heather complaining about running away. But does that mean that you never even talked with the Police Chief then? I don't remember right now if that's required to travel through Jasper Ward. If you didn't, then that probably broke the sequence of events. If that's the case, I'd recommend you look through your backup save files for a save before you entered the Jasper Ward. And go through it again (Talking with the Police Chief this time) and see if that works. However, if you spoke with the Police Chief before going through the Jasper Ward... then I really don't know. sandiclaws Posted November 4, 2015 Author Share Posted November 4, 2015 Hmmm, welp here's the series of events I did in order: Freed Jasper ward Freed Beryl Ward, fought zEL and Taka, saw scene with Heather whining Checked out the gym, door in the back was open and Corey wasnt there Went back down to Jasper Ward, saw the police station, went in, started the quest, saved the missing police officers Spoke with the chief, he gave me a growlithe Went back Corey's gym, Corey still wasnt there and the door was still open, without having to do the puzzle If need be I'll start over, I was just unsure if I maybe needed to do another quest of some sort to trigger the gym to operate as it should. In some walkthroughs, I've seen policemen inside the gym as fightable trainers, but even they aren't showing up. That's his secret hiding spot to get away from people. As for the whole police quest, I believe it'll activate if you rescue a certain set of four officers (not all five iirc), but you don't have to head back to the chief to activate it. It's a bit more clear where he is if you do the police quest, but the puzzle unlocks a hidden room. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought Corey would be in the room upstairs. Sorry for asking this (a bit silly) question, hehe.. @all: thanks @sandiclaws: maybe (similar to me) you also didn't notice the real door (look at the right corner, behind the pillars). Or you maybe facing a different problem (in that case, I think it is better if you can share your save file here, so that others can help you). @MEga DAVE: I got the egg by exchanging a Growlithe egg with the police officer in Jasper Ward, hehe. Sorry I haven't checked back on this feed, I haven't been able to play! I will definitely try the puzzle again and see if I can find another door. I thought I looked everywhere... cause that's why I was getting confused. I thought the door in the back of the gym only opened after the puzzle, and maybe my game had a bug making it open without having to do anything. Or I could just be a derp. That's a high possibility. Thank you for the feedback either way everyone. If I don't see the door, I'll share my save file. Okay. Either something is absolutely not happening or I'm completely blind. Turning the pillars blue didn't open up anything else, and still can't find Corey. Here's my save file... please someone save me from myself.
