Phazer 0
Thunderhouse Left (Gyarados) (F) @ Lum Berry Trait: Intimidate EVs: 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Waterfall - Ice Fang - Earthquake Mid (Mantine) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 128 HP / 252 Def / 128 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Tailwind - Confuse Ray - Icy Wind - Scald Right (Rhydon) (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Lightningrod EVs: 128 HP / 128 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Icy Wind - Protect - Earthquake - Rock Slide Gyarados out speeds everything from 1/2 boost speed from dragon dance and a tailwind. Mantine is the support, tailwind allows Gyarados, as stated before, to out speed everything. Rhydon can only outspeed a fourth of the metagames (awww... that sucks). Mantine can easily confuse the enemy with it's boosted speed and wind down foes so that once Tailwind pewters out, Mantine doesn't have to set it again and can scald it's way out. Rhydon takes electric attacks and receives no damage, thus making Mantine and Gyarados only threatened by rock types, which they can easily kill with a water attack. Note:Just a suggestion to use in a triple team. Import Left (Gyarados) (F) @ Lum Berry Trait: Intimidate EVs: 252 Atk / 128 Def / 128 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Waterfall - Ice Fang - Stone Edge Mid (Mantine) (F) @ Leftovers Trait: Water Absorb EVs: 128 HP / 252 Def / 128 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Tailwind - Confuse Ray - Icy Wind - Scald Right (Rhydon) (F) @ Eviolite Trait: Lightningrod EVs: 128 HP / 128 Def / 252 SDef Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk) - Icy Wind - Protect - Earthquake - Rock Slide
Administrators Amethyst 2467 Posted January 16, 2012 Administrators Share Posted January 16, 2012 You should switch Mantine to center, that way Gyarados can have and safely use Earthquake for a double KO. Lightning Rod will still work.
Phazer 0
Done, thanks for the suggestion. Though, Amethyst, Rhydon EQ. GG.
Phazer 0
>What can water types do to a mantine and gyarados. >If tailwind is up before Rhydon is out, then not that much harm has been done. >Rain is good for Gyarados and Mantine, except for Thunder hitting. >Do you expect a Lanturn or something? >Yes Rhydon being fainted is a loss, but you're stating water pokemon taking on my team. No problem.
Neo 45
Once Rhydon is gone it kinda falls apart. Perhaps something like Manectric or Raikou to help you out more.
Zen 0
I used seaking in my old version of this one, but rhydon does sound possible. Another possible option for Tailwind would be pelipper or swanna, I think.
Phazer 0
I'm thinking Swanna > Mantine
Administrators Amethyst 2467 Posted January 21, 2012 Administrators Share Posted January 21, 2012 Mantine's more defensive... On the other hand, Swanna has Roost. And Hurricane. I think Swanna wins...
