It's surpinsigly easy early-on but then when you get to that noel-serra-radomus midgame you just get shit on. Rock is weak. Sooooo weak like really. Noel is almost impossible because you have 0 way of beating clefairy other than pure luck and dumb IA, trainers will always have that pokemon that sweep your entire team ( Sigmund and his Lanturn, Fern and his Serperior, EVERYONE) and fossils turn you into a crazy dude because of the grind and the rock-mining reset.
