    Gardevoir

? I tried all the poison, steel and Ghost option that I have and yet nothing works.

Edit: I was able to defeat her using a Darmanitan with Fire blitz and trained him at the agility and strength caves

Heavy Metal + Heavy Slam Aggron and a bit of luck because the damn thing has to miss Focus Blast for me to pull it off which took a few tries.

I concur, my Charizard has been a rock throughout a lot of the game.

In the Charmeleon stage Dragon Rage kind of carried my team, then as a fully evolved Charizard it finished off Kiki's Metacham and it's flamethrower tore through Pokemon Gargantuan and PULSE Abra like butter which as is a commonality, was a saving grace as I'd gone into that event with a different plan I'd formed based on research which bombed pretty badly.

    I'd say it's a solid B at least if not an A-.

I want to add to this that Mega Charizard Y has been wrecking the E4 and post-game (along with Mega Metagross). I swear sometimes I almost feel as though I'm cheating.

I learned this just now too. The Reshiram Determination route is where you defeat Solaris on Pyrous Mountain and choose the Reshiram route, but otherwise stay on the Lin route for postgame.

Yeah figured that would be it.

  4. From what I have been told on Reddit there is no "True Ending" or even a defined "Good" or "Bad" ending. All endings are equal alternatives and the Lin and Anna paths are two halves of a whole as the Lin path contains context that is missing from the Anna path which the latter is confusing without. As such Ame recommends doing both paths starting  with Lin.

I personally......don't like that this was said at all and am highly disappointed with it even if (or perhaps especially because) it came from Ame's mouth herself, because-

-the unique Reshiram route has unquestionably more content lore-wise, down to meeting child Lin (early perhaps, maybe she shows up in Zek postgame but I haven't reached that yet) and learning more about her actual motives rather than a disembodied voice giving us vague meta implications. For all intents and purposes, that route has more content and more impact to the plot, so it is a "True Ending" in video game terms, even if Ame herself says that both can be equally canon as far as storyline goes.

I love this game, even if it has its down moments, but Ame saying that no ending is a "true" ending and then certainly giving one very specific set of circumstances more weight in the story than the other irritated me as somebody who was (falsely) reassured that I didn't have to worry about doing things perfectly in order to get a certain desired ending. It feels like a promise that was failed to be kept, to me.

How old is that statement? As described within the spoiler censors in the linked Reddit post above, originally the Anna and Lin paths were more or less defined as straightforward "Good" and "Bad" endings but Ame nixed that because the product was less interesting. I.e the Anna path was just plotless and peaceful legendary quests as opposed to the main plot extension both paths are now.

@Fayt_Bouleouve. Is "Allowing Taka to join in Tourmaline Desert" required for Anna's route?

According to the list I read on Reddit, yes it is.

can you be on annas route if you  do everything but fight sigmund? if not guess im stuck on the lin route XD

Sorry no dice. You're on the Lin path. I'm in much the same boat. I fought Sigmund and lost to Solaris on Pyrus Mountain and am on the Lin path as well.

Question of my own: From what I have been gathering there seems to be two possible Reshiram endings, what is the deciding factor between them?

  5. FYI I'm on the Lin route as well and someone on Reddit told me that

    Spoiler

the Lin route isn't bad despite being named for her and there are fewer character deaths even than in the Anna route.

Just letting you know in case that was the concern.
I hope this information is correct. I'm still doing anomaly quests.

  6. Vero. I'm a sucker for broody looking guy protags and he's the only distinctly male protag with black hair which is my preferred style.

If I had to pick a female protag Ari 100%. If her hair were black she'd be one of the best female protags I've ever seen.

The NPC also tells you "from left to right, the notes go low G, A, B, C, D, E, F, high G". That's why I said he gives you the complete solution. The only way you could have missed it is if you never tried to do it without a guide.

I don't recall if I tried it before consulting a guide, I can gracefully admit that I might not have, however, since submitting the last post I have watched it in ep19 and noticed the scales are now labeled with the notes which was not the case in ep18 and is not just further helpful but 100% guarantees that it is solvable for those who don't know music without an external guide.

Yeah, I don't have anything to say in defense of the chess puzzle. I guess Ame just overestimated the amount of people that know chess these days. But it might be worth mentioning that besides the rules, the game also gives you feedback on your moves during the puzzle.

    That's a valid point.

I understand that Chess does not have the linear structure or straightforwardness of a music scale but rather incorporated in a Pokemon game is more or less a strategy recursion and as such can not be spelled out as plainly. I believe Ame did to her best to provide assistance to those who don't know Chess.

Therefore it has to come down to Ame overestimating Chess's popularity or considering that out of the handful of Youtubers I watch only one needed to copy the answers from another Youtube video, perhaps she favored the majority which admittedly does make some sense.

Additionally, I appreciate how Radomus' character is largely built around Chess logic and would not support that being changed just so some people don't have to struggle with Chess.

  8. As someone who had to copy the solutions off Youtube, I half concur.

Hardy's as well as Radomus' gyms are not considerate of those without experience in specific and in the case of the latter complicated areas that require a lot of training and practice to master.

Granted it's been at least a couple of years since I finished ep18 and I am continuing with the same save in ep19, if I recall while the NPC in Hardy's gym provides an alternative to the audio for the hearing impaired, it's still not made understandable to those who don't know music notes. Telling us that the first note is 'E' (again it's been a long time I don't remember what the notes were I'm just throwing one out at random to make an example of) doesn't tell us how to distinguish that particular note by sound or where to find it visually on the scales.

The same can be said of Radomus' gym. Although Elias provides a tutorial on each chess piece and it's roles and significance, it was all Greek to me and the new team Chess roles mechanic adds a whole new level of difficulty for us Chess dunces. I'm glad I dodged that just as I managed to dodge the Slowking's Synthetic Seed (and thus was able to avoid its Trick Room with Taunt) because my save pre-dated those updates. Though I do find it interesting nonetheless.

No worries I'm not salty and the guides out there pretty much cancel out the issue but it's good fortunate that this game is popular enough for guides to exist. I've played quite a few fan game for which this is not the case and Discord communities and showcase threads are not always reliable so difficulties figuring something out can be dead ends.

Ironic you should also suggest a color based puzzle as Rejuvenation's first gym puzzle is just that and does have complete coverage for the color-blind in the form of a chart and examination dialogue that provides the solutions and informs what colors the player is interacting with in words (i.e "Do you want to add Blue?").

  9. I believe an Ability Capsule is the only legit way though this sounds like a bug because a Youtuber I watch who started ep19 from the beginning chose Speed Boost Torchic as his starter. In which case a dev might be willing to change it back for you if you don't have access to 7th Street yet.

Any PC with data chips in your bag. there also should be an NPC in the calcenon pokemon centre who'll do a few of them for free on old saves

I found the NPC but he only gives out a select few and while the most important one to me was offered, easyhms, how do I get data chips as it would be nice to have the hard cap?

It's a bug from having the Jukebox running when you last saved on E18. if you load back up on E18, turn off the jukebox, and save again, it should then load properly.

I forgot I had been using the Jukebox because I love the Crystal Valley track. It's been a hell of a long time since I have loaded this game because I finished ep. 18. Thanx.
One more quick question: Where do I go to use the passwords since I am not starting from the beginning?

  12. Hello.

I've just downloaded this long awaited update beta but when I click my ep18 save file the game crashes with the following error:
    CaptureReborn19.thumb.PNG.2d8304ed7a0bea715f0ff12980041d3e.PNG

I read the list of areas NOT to load into. My last save was on route 3 and though outside not in a cave, I opened 18.4, flew to the Opal Ward and saved outside the Grand Hall which is NOT on the list but the crash persists.

The ultimate twist would be that Clear and Kieran are good and are deceiving an Evil Interceptor, but that seems doubtful.

I concur. The fact that they only recruit an Interceptor that appears to want destruction and I think it's safe to assume they don't want to save the world tells me that an evil interceptor is compatible with their goal rather than a threat to it. Ergo they're definitely not good.

However, as pointed out, we can't draw a definitive conclusion particularly since we have no idea what they mean by "Oblivion". It seems obvious that it refers to nothingness but one never knows and even so what about nothingless is appealing to them? Can they even exist to enjoy it?

    Just a correction,

      Reveal hidden contents

You can get Florin killed by going with Flora, joining her, exposing her after the caves, then telling Cassandra everything. You must do all of that if you want him to die.

Also, refusing Tesla's offer does not give you bad ending points, it just makes Tesla not like you. If she doesn't like you, it gives you

      Reveal hidden contents

the twenty points for her not liking you (like what, that is the same amount of points for murdering someone!). All the other main cast only give you 5 points each... which again is pretty weird but I digress.

I am pretty sure that the choice with the David guy (or whatever his name is) and whether you win or lose the illusion battle does not matter. Losing it just has them say they are happy you saw past the illusion, but you don't get any RP for it or anything like that.

Ah, alright. Thanx for clearing these things up for me.

Another possibility is in the world Kieran came from there was it's own Interceptor (or even this exact one) and he was evil or failed in saving the world.

That's not opposition to them though. Clear and Kieran are fighting for oblivion, "a world with no future". I'm not sure what this means but the MC is only recruited to join them with maximum bad ending calc which Clear and Kieran establish as being the path of destruction.

I think it's more probable that the interceptor was good in their world and defeated them. Now their interferences in the interceptor's life in this world, eliminating the Avium league and restoring the vessel!MC's memories, hell even manipulating Kenneth and Taelia to open the grotto is an attempt to nudge the interceptor down their path. Which can be successful.

  16. 12 minutes ago, Cyphre said:

Kieran could also know the protagonist (i.e. his body) and not our Interceptor consiousness. This is supported by the fact that Interceptor didnt appear in previous "attempts", as was stated by Madame X.

That's fair and I forgot about Madame X establishing that this is the first attempt that the interceptor has appeared in but Kieran knows that the interceptor is not the Vessel!MC so it's strange that he would address them as such.

So when the pc was given the option to be the interceptor they were replaced by our character? Does our character have an origin or is this just supposed to be a fourth wall break?

That is the question that I started this topic to discuss.
At the moment it's unclear and there are a few different insinuations i.e a deceased person inside of a doll and a being from another world.
"A being from another world" can be compliant with a 4th wall break but the MC's first encounter with Kieran in Valor Mt. is standing out to me as of late. At one point during the interaction we're given a reaction prompt and if we select 'Do I know you?' he responds something to the effect of "Once. In another life."

This appears to establish that the Interceptor!MC does have a separate character and past from the NPC MC who had some form of relationship with C&K as opposed to just being data their fallen third team member had.

I am quite intrigued to see if we learn more.

  18. I can relate. I am not a start over with each update person either. I've been continuing the first save I made which I started in V12. Fangames such as this which are long and somewhat difficult are a lot of hard work that I don't want to have to rebuild and ge through again.
In this case, the V13 changes such as the rift boss battles appear to be a bit much for me.

From what you've described, I don't believe you've made any significant mistakes Karma-wise.

    1. Ryland is alive and as opposed to other characters such as Florin and Karen, his fate is not dependent on a player option.
    2. I stopped David from searching for his wife in the Abyss as well. I felt it was the more responsible option as I don't doubt his wife is dead at this point (I believe it was said that it's been a decade since he was found) and that he would have gotten lost himself again. It's not a significant choice though as I don't believe it affects your relationships or karma.
    3. The relationship points for the illusion Melia/Aelita battle don't seem to be listed in the relationship guide. You gain points with both for losing/seeing through the illusion for sure but I am uncertain about winning/falling for the illusion. I want to say that you do lose points with both characters but if you have enough total with them already it shouldn't affect your karma.

Most of the bad Karma/ending choices are the ones that kill (including the 2 rift Pokemon the Weird Diary comes into play with) and most of those choices are straight forward (i.e killing Karen or Karen and Korrina in Zygarde castle). The one hidden death choice is the one resulting in Florin's death which I believe is achieved by partnering with Flora in Darchlight Cave and outing her.
I believe there only two bad Karma choices that don't result in a character death; declining Tesla when she offers to essentially adopt you and handing over the crystal to Melanie and from what I have gathered, the bad Karma from the latter is unavailable because it has a bug that soft locks the game.

Doing the HC quests is one of the most important things to maintaining good Karma as from what I have gathered they can keep it at a good level even when you're being a jerk.

    So don't fret. you're doing fine :)
