  1. Friedhold 16/45 Con 2 | Res 8(+[Syn] vs cold) | Dex 3 | Int 8 | Str 3 | Syn 5 | Adam 19 | Eve 10/20 | Perhaps it was the paranoia mist, or being in a witch's lair, or being surrounded by bloodthirsty skeletal warriors. Whatever it was that pushed him over the line Friedhold decided then and there it was time to get out. So with a quick gesture of thanks to the massive spider that just shot him with some sort of healing light, he rapidly faded from existence. Once invisible Friedhold glanced around to see the morbid "artist" and the disaster goddess, both also equally surrounded by the skeletal forces. The artist reminded him of Sander Cohen, a man who was a living nightmare in a world of monsters, though unlike Cohen this man seem capable of enough self control to not perform his "art" on anyone who happened to be within eye sight. So reluctantly Friedhold made his way to the artist and grabbed the back of the man's shirt(his vision would darken slightly at this point) and pulled him away from danger and told him "Quiet, follow me if you don't want to die." After collecting the artist Friedhold walked toward the disaster goddess(artist in tow) extending his invisibility to her as well, though in a slightly more respectful(or maybe just cautious) way than the artist. Friedhold uses a boosted "Houdini" plasmid on himself, Venus, and Mitsurugi. It significantly reduces agro and enemies can't target them during the effect, costs 4 Eve and 2 Adam to start.
  2. Morgan 38/60 Con 7 | Res 6 | Dex 0 | Int 4 | Str 9 | Syn 10 | 35% dodge chance(retaliates Syn/2 pure damage against attacker on success) | 20% reduction of magic/energy damage | The initial onslaught was...worrying, they needed to bring down some of these enemies and quickly. But first, tend to those who were hit the hardest. Morgan uses "Soul Mend" and restores [Syn]*2 HP to himself, Kino, and Dackly.
  3. Friedhold 31/45 Con 2 | Res 8(+[Syn] vs cold) | Dex 3 | Int 8 | Str 3 | Syn 5 | Adam 19 | Eve 15/20 | Friedhold winced as the laser brunt into his side, but remained focused on the task at hand and unleashed his attack against the skeletal beasts. The girl however took the moment to step out from behind Friedhold and shout while pointing at Assassin "Monster! MONSTER!" before returning to hide behind him again. Friedhold turned and saw Assassin, then shifted his focus again to the large group of warriors between him and her. Friedhold uses another "Gravity Well" targeting the DT Warriors A, it deals 5d6 damage and prompts and [Int] vs [Str] save, targets that fail become knocked prone. Costs 8 Eve. (Prone enemies lose defensive bonuses from abilities like "basic defense", and lose dodge bonuses(at GM's discretion) until their next turn, abilities with multi-turn activation are also interrupted.)
  4. Friedhold 45/45 Con 2 | Res 8(+[Syn] vs cold) | Dex 3 | Int 8 | Str 3 | Syn 5 | Adam 19 | Eve 20/20 | As Friedhold enters the room he sees the skeletal beasts and remembers the carnage that they inflicted on the group in the initial battle. With a glare of mild disgust Friedhold throws a black pearl-like object at the pack of skeletal beast that implodes creating a vortex that sucks them(and anything not nailed down) in and beats them against each other. Friedhold uses "Gravity Well" targeting the five skeletal beasts of the first pack(A) and one of the second(B), it deals 5d6 damage to each and prompts and [Int] vs [Str] save, targets that fail become knocked prone. Costs 8 Eve. (Prone enemies lose defensive bonuses from abilities like "basic defense", and lose dodge bonuses(at GM's discretion) until their next turn, abilities with multi-turn activation are also interrupted.)
  5. Morgan 60/60 Con 7 | Res 6 | Dex 0 | Int 4 | Str 9 | Syn 10 | 35% dodge chance(retaliates Syn/2 pure damage against attacker on success) | 20% reduction of magic/energy damage As the gates close behind the group Morgan draws the massive sword off his back and steps to the front of the group acting threateningly and trying to distract anyone he can but doing little more damage than denting some armor or shoving people around. Morgan makes a basic defense action reducing incoming damage by 50%, his Res is increased by [Syn]/2 against magical/energy attacks(effect of weapon).
  6. Friedhold: Looking up to where LOTUS was speaking from Friedhold spoke "My name is Friedhold von Grimmelshausen. I believe you have seen most of my capabilities, but for simple reiteration most of my abilities favor stopping power and hindering the enemy over killing power." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morgan: Morgan gave Dackly a look that was half confusion and half questioning before closing his eyes and shaking his head slowly. "I believe I'll be able to recognize Wyvis' friend as I saw them together earlier, so I'm going to go find them. Maybe they'll know some of these other people we're suppose to find, or maybe I'll happen to run into them." He then turned and started making his way through the crowd. Morgan goes to find Melina.
  7. Morgan was surprised by Ghost's sudden dis/reappearance, but seemed to take it in stride. "The fabric of reality is sort of like a living thing all to itself. Like any living thing if you wound it it will try and heal itself, the bigger and more ragged the wound the more likely it is to scar. The holes I create when teleporting would hardly count as pin pricks in this context. So possible yes, but you'd have to have the power of a god in their prime to do it, and at those power levels well..." He raised his hands and shrugged "Who knows?" When he was done answering Ghost's question he turned the Dackly to answer her's. "It's true that the vast majority of void entities want nothing more than the destruction of worlds, but from what I know and have read it's often not so much the destruction that they want so much as the power they gain from it. Therefor should you find such an entity capable of thought and communication beyond destruction you maybe able to bargain with them in a sort of roundabout way.
  8. Morgan stood there for a moment thinking of the best way to phrase what he needed to say. "You see my powers stem from an endless plane between worlds, the Void. I achieve teleportation by slipping through the fabric of this reality into the Void and back again, albeit in a slightly different position. My own soul grants me some protection from the mind breaking madness within the Void, others...aren't so lucky. Imagine staring into an infinite and incomprehensibly complex space that is constantly changing, while your body is being bombarded by twisted corruptive energy from all sides, and eldritch monstrosities whisper enigmas of power and impossible phrases into you ears that are capable of cracking even the stoutest of minds." Morgan stopped to take a breath and sigh softly. "If my protection would fail that is what anyone traveling with me would be exposed to. The two best possible outcomes in that case are either they're immune to the effects of the Void for some reason or instant death. The more likely outcome would be a descent into madness followed by either obsession with the power of the Void or slow painful transformation into an eldritch horror. But like I said, that's only if the enchantment fails." He relaxed and lowered his arms, folding his hands together, and awaiting Ghost's response.
  9. Morgan listened to Ghost speak, then glanced down and retracted his hand before replying. "I'm a Void Mage. We manipulate the fabric of reality to achieve ends such as teleportation or forcing entities through the veil. I also know some potent healing magic and I can use this sword effectively against single targets. He shifted his weight back to make himself seem less looming with his height and all. "I also believe I've come up with a way to teleport people other than myself without the standard side effects of madness, death, or various fates worse than death. I don't want to use it before testing some more, but if it's needed I can try to transport a few people at a time."
  10. Morgan looked out over the courtyard from the wall trying to make out who this "Ghost" person was. He'd gathered that the computer and young woman holding it were LOTUS and Isobel respectively. He'd already..."met" Lexiel before in the Castle, same with Edmond. So he assumed that the last person being surrounded by people was who he needed to find. She was the cloaked and pale skinned mage he'd ridden in the book-hovercraft with. So he made his way down from the wall while trying to think of ways to deal with such a large force. They could try summoning a Pariah if this fortress had the right ingredients....and hope it was in a good mood, otherwise it might decide to eat the defending army as much as the attacking one. If he'd taken more courses in the Arcane he might have been able to make use of the mana node in this fortress to fuel some more powerful magic. Push come to shove there were enough magic users here for him to create another Soul Storm, though he wasn't such he had it in him to survive another. He looked up from thought just as he was about to walk into a group of people, which he narrowly dodged. He took a few steps over the Ghost and spoke "Ah, you must be Ghost. I heard you were leading the Siege-breaker team. I'm Morgan." He hesitated somewhat awkwardly for a split second before politely extending his hand to shake Ghosts.
  11. Friedhold: After finishing whatever food he'd managed to scrounge up from Magnus' leftovers Friedhold(with the child following right behind) made his way over to where the Assassin killer team was gathering. The girl piped up again "Daddy are we going to find angels now?" to which Friedhold sighed deeply before replying in a terse but obviously restrained tone "Yes. We're going to go find the God-forsaken angels now." The girl had a look of confusion on her face while Friedhold spoke that quickly turned to worry after he finished "Oh, poor, poor, angels. Even God forgot about you." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morgan: Morgan hadn't been paying much attention to the Courtyard around him, it reminded him a little to much of home. So instead he'd opted to block out the world and read a book(the one he got from McVoids), that is until the computer started speaking. Once it had finished he put his book away and decided that if he was going to help defend this fortress he ought to go have a look at the situation over the walls. What he saw he didn't like. When you're actively fighting in something like this and can't see the whole force it seems so much smaller, easier, but when you're up on the wall and can see the true overwhelming might of the enemy numbers it's a different story.
  12. Friedhold: After collecting some food from Magnum Friedhold and Alice eat while listening closely to what Laver and LOTUS have to say. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morgan: Morgan finds a quite place to stand near the base of the wall and listens to what Laver and the computer(?) have to say.
  13. Friedhold: He sighed and shook his head slightly then looked at the group and said "Well, I hate to run away so quickly, but we have food waiting for us out in the courtyard." He then took the hand of the child and they made their way back towards the courtyard, the little girl mumbling about angels the whole way. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morgan: After finishing his project Morgan packed up his things and cleaned off the table he was using, "No need to leave a mess behind right?" While he appreciated the relative peace and quiet of the barracks for his work now that he was done the place seemed kinda boring. He needed to go out and find something to doinstead of sitting in here doing nothing. So he made his way as silently as possible out of the barracks and into the courtyard.
  14. The girl took half of one of her very small steps back, the glowing symbols seemed to interest her more the ward her off. She turned her head to look at Solomon at an odd angle, silver eyes as piercing as ever “Don’t worry, Daddy will be here to help me find the angels soon.” She then returned her gaze to the glowing necklace device. Ever heard the saying ‘Speak of the Devil and he shall appear’? Just at that moment Friedhold walked into the barracks and quickly made his way over to where the group was talking. “So this is where you went?” he said to the girl who turned around with some excitement “Are we going to go find angels now?” “Not now, I said not even an hour ago we’d find them later.” He turned to the adults in the group “I apologize if she caused you any trouble, she is an odd child.”
  15. Friedhold started to make his way over to the bus to get some food when he stopped. He really did want food but he shouldn't, not yet at least. He still needed to go round up the girl before she decided to terrorize the local guardsmen and get them kicked out. Plus now that he thought about it while the barracks sounded like a safe enough place who knows what she might find to get into trouble with there. So off he went, away from the crowd and the smell of freshly cooked meat and toward the barracks.
  16. The girl started to answer Solomon's questions when Mornings arrow spoke and distracted her, she jumped and looked around for the source "Well my da-- Oh, what was that? Did your necklace just talk lady?" She turned and began approaching Bridgett, caring for personal space almost as little as she did for Bridgett's continued discomfort. Once she got close enough to get a good look at it she stopped, almost mesmerized just looking at it "Wow, how does it do that?"
  17. "I can see the angels dancing, and their tummies glow bright!" She says to Bridgett excitedly. Something about the way she looks at you gives you an unsettling feeling, like something else unnatural and monstrous is watching through those eyes. She turned to Solomon and said "She isn't an angel yet silly, her lights aren't out and all the angels have to have their lights out before I can visit them." "And when I find'em I stick'em with this!" She says while showing the syringe proudly, it's a bit rusty in a few places and seems to have dried blood on it. "and pull all the glowy out of their tummy so they can sleep."
  18. Friedhold nodded several times in understanding while Walmond spoke. He wasn't familiar with the disease in question, but the reasoning seemed sound. Disease wasn't something they had to deal with much in Rapture, they could even cure...or cause cancer using Adam. "I've been working for the last year or so mass producing biological weapons for a madman, I was held under threat of an extremely painful death." He paused thinking for a moment. "You see, Adam is a substance that acts akin to the body's own stem cells, but...more. I use it to alter the flesh and blood. Cure disease, create disease," He raised his hand and demonstrated by flicking lighting between his fingers "or create abilities inconceivable by nature. Should you ever need help with such matters in the future, you have but to ask and I'm sure we can work something out." His stomach growled and he turned the look at the large group of solders gathered around the BBQ "While I have enjoyed the conversation, I believe I must now leave to find some refreshments."
  19. A young girl wearing a somewhat tattered and bloodstained sundress makes her way into the barracks. Those present would notice that she's clutching a rather large syringe-like tool and seems to be mumbling something about "angels". As she comes closer to Solomon and Bridgett they can more clearly make out what she's been repeating this whole time "I can hear all those angels singing in their pretty choir, why can't I find you? Where are you hiding?" She says in a multi-tone voice while looking around the room. As she passes Solomon and Bridgett she looks over and seems to recognize them at least to some degree because she walks over and asks "Have you seen any angels? I can hear their singing but they're hiding and I can't find them." Her unblinking eyes are glazed over with a reflective silver/white color as she stares at the two.
  20. "Impressive." Friedhold said simply while glancing over to look at Lambda, "I study genetics. Specifically genetic modification using Adam to alter the body in ways nature never intended." Friedhold paused and bent down to talk with the young girl puling on the bottom of his coat, he mumbled something to her and waved his hand in the direction of the barracks. She skipped off in that direction. He then stood and turned back to Walmond "While I'm not familiar with your other field of study, however I am familiar with medicine. That makes my wonder, why the sudden change of field? Was there something that caused it or simply curiosity?" Friedhold folded his hands together and waited for a response.
  21. Friedhold: "Very interesting" Friedhold said while looking at the bottle of glowing liquid. "Given the nature of your...processes I think you may be able to get more use out of these than I." Friedhold says while digging into an inner pocket of his coat and pulling out a handful of small mechanical parts and circuit boards. After handing them over he turned back to Walmond and ask "If you don't mind my asking, what is your field of study in?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Morgan: "Pretty good, if you don't count multiple attempted stabbings and being struck by lightning. I made it out in one piece though and that's enough to be happy about I guess." Morgan shifted his weight while talk, relaxing slightly before continuing to talk to Wyvis "I'm sorry to introduce myself and run but I've got some other business to attend to, perhaps we can talk longer some other time?" With that Morgan took his leave and made his way through the Barracks into the mess hall, found a relatively empty table in the back and began setting up a small ritual for enchanting. He takes out the Turquoise rod and starts by etching glyphs into it using the tip of his wand to draw with, he stops periodically to place the rod in the middle of a ritual circle and infuse various dusts and foreign substances into it before returning to drawing. By the end of all this he manages to turn the Turquoise rod into a Rod of Warping.
  22. Friedhold became slightly uncomfortable at the mention of Adam, though he remained silent and listened to Dackly and Gozer's story. Such blatant disregard for safety practices was something he was familiar with, for his follow scientists and even he himself had acted much the same way. Adam was an incredibly powerful substance capable of altering any living organism, how could she not expect that to go poorly? His train of thought was broken however when Walmond spoke up "I honestly never expected to meet another man of science in this...group." as Friedhold shook the man's hand he spoke in a thick German accent and gestured to the various figures around the courtyard. Friedhold then turned his attention back to Dackly "I don't believe Adam was ever meant to do anything, and it certainly shouldn't have ever entered the hands of man. If you could have seen the dark things that followed in its wake."
