Okay, so I've been using this team on the ladder lately and its been doing me wonders. the main idea is to get people to switch with counters, wear them down with hazards, and even a few revenge kills here and there from a certain Pokemon that no one likes to face. well any advice at all would help a lot. As a Final note before i begin i would like to apologize for the upcoming grammar mistakes i am going to be making. Well okay lets begin.
Mienshao (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Fake Out
- Hi Jump Kick
- U-turn
- Stone Edge
A pretty basic Mienshao set. I usually fake out, then depending on the opponent i either Hi jump kick, Stone edge, or u turn. Most of the time i choose u turn. because of Regenerator i get the hp lost by life orb back when i switch him out. i like to use him for the lead because i can switch him out speedily to either my physical wall, or my special wall, or to anyone really in order to counter there current Pokemon. this strategy helps a lot more late game when i get up my hazards up because when i switch to resist their attack, then they switch and keep losing the damage from the hazards.
Zapdos @ Leftovers
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 128 HP / 252 Def / 128 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Discharge
- Heat Wave
- Hidden Power [ice]
- Roar
i love this set that Phazer gave me because of its ability to be offensive and to roar. again when i get up my hazards i can roar pokemon out, or chose to use any of my three moves to to take out their remaining damage. his bulk allows him to tank things like low powered ice beams, outrage, rock slide etc. actually the last battle i was in this guy tanked a blizzard from a an Abomnasnow. It was epic. finally, you might wonder why i changed thunderbolt to discharge, this is because of the 30% chance for a paralysis. as you'll notice later, Thunder wave is also a big part of this team.
Ferrothorn (M) @ Rocky Helmet
Trait: Iron Barbs
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Power Whip
- Stealth Rock
- Spikes
- Thunder Wave
Okay so this guy has two obvious tasks. tank physical hits and deal damage from Rocky helmet ad iron barbs back to the opponent. The second task is to set up hazards. usually if i can get up some sort of hazard from him, i can clinch the win. some other uses i found were that i can catch Pokemon like Dragonite or Kingdra in an outrage. then i can proceed to thunder wave them and ruin any chance they had of sweeping.
Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Wish
- Protect
- Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss
Chansey is the special wall i mentioned earlier. i can switch him into any kind of special attack threat and stop it old in its tracks. we have wish to heal itself, and well as to heal the rest of my team when needed. protect for when i need to wish my chansey. thunder wave again to ruin my opponents speed. finally Seismic toss for a damaging move.
Dragonite (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Multiscale
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 76 Def / 176 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- ExtremeSpeed
- Fire Punch
- Outrage
- Earthquake
Here is my Dragonite. he has a huge attack stat thanks to choice band. i sometimes use Outrage on him. earthquake for electric Pokemon. fire punch for steel. but the main reason i have him banded is for extreme speed. he is basically meant to come in with an overwhelmingly powerful priority move. he can finish off most Pokemon in the late game. or take out some in a matter of two hits from extreme speed. he is immensely helpful on this team.
Chandelure (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Overheat
- Hidden Power [ice]
- Shadow Ball
- Energy Ball
Finally we have one of the biggest helps on this team, Chandelure. Chandelure is my Spin blocker/ ferrothorn killer/ shadow tagger/ revenge killer. he is boss. he can come in on most unboosted Pokemon and get a kill with either over heat and shadow ball. hidden power ice if for dem dragons, and energy ball is for gastradon/ quagsire/ swampert. really the only commonly used pokemon that can outspeed a chandelure would be jolteon.
Well this is the team and any advice would be helpful.
Thanks,
Conor
