"I understand. We don't have time like that. I can certainly do that afterwards, and..." "If I die, Find a man named Max Anders" She thinks for a moment. ... "And kill him." she finishes "His cape name is Kaiser. The leader of the Empire 88, and my father." "I doubt you'll need to. I'll survive this, and do it myself. I'm sure of it." she comments, successfully convincing herself.

"You know what a Trigger Event is, right Harry?" She doesn't wait for him to answer, but does pause before continuing. "I need this. I'm willing to pay whatever cost. I haven't been as vulnerable as I was back there since I triggered." she says, her mind flashing back to that moment in the previous battle where her sword broke, her armor failed, and her walls crumbled. "I can't go back to that. That feeling of uncertainty, helplessness." "If it makes it easier, think of it as greed. I want the power that those God Eaters wield more than enough to risk it all." The same words her father said as he checked in constantly. Pressured her to take more of a part in Gang activities, groomed her as a successor, assuming that she would gain powers, when she hadn't for 16 years. "If it makes it easier, think of it as greed, dear. I'd like to see the Empire Prosper, and I'd like to see you make that happen, sooner or later." he says, with nothing but innocence and a smooth voice tainting his words black. She shakes the memories out of her head, she doesn't care where she got a phrase like that. It's a good enough quote to shut up that damn Doctor, hopefully. "Anything else you'd like to say, before I take this test?" The way she says it, like it's already a foregone conclusion.

"I need more power. I've been a bystander since I've gotten here. I've done nothing but run and fail where it counts the most." "I might have powers, but in the end, I'm just an unskilled ordinary human without them." She turns away from Harry, trying to hide something in her face. "And that's not good enough."

Again, without a movement, Soma grunts and it grows even larger and more complex than before. "Yeah, I'm going to be doing the test. I need that kind of power."

"The more I grow something, the longer the overall effect lasts. This would last roughly an hour. It would last a day if I grew it yet another full step." "How long do you need it to last?" She asks.

Without any motion at all, Soma excerts her power on the terminal, and it begins to grow, both in size and complexity. The end result though, is anyone's guess.

Nodding mostly to herself, Soma goes to the specified location. She might be able to do something useful with tech as advanced as theirs.

"Nothing for now, have fun!" she shouts after him.

"Hey, before we do your testing, I've got something I might be able to offer. My power can make anything that isn't alive grow drastically in complexity and size temporarily. If you have anything like some computers or machines that you'd like to have that done to, I can do that now." Soma messages the Doctor.

You take a closer look... Some kind of... Vehicle, there's no wind that you can feel, but the thing seems to use a sail effectively. There are 3 people above deck. One of them seems to have something on their head, and another seems to be an Orc. You can't tell much else from this far away.

"Yeah, just a fair warning, he'd sell you all out for a can of boot polish. Don't get in any situations where he's got that option." Tattletale says, sitting in a chair nearby, fiddling on a laptop. "Oh, also, Mirri is pretty rapidly falling to the dark side, like, throw a hunk of lead down a long fall falling, you know your way around hearts and stuff, so I'm just letting you know in advance." she says sympathetically.

Nodding, Soma goes to a terminal, and fiddles with it, attempting to register her and fill out the prerequisite forms. "I'll be sure to do that."

After a long pause, Julie speaks up. "I'd like to have some of those tests myself." She says to the man.

"Get us a Restore Pill, and you'll get your info, you should be able to obtain one from the shops nearby. I'm curious to see what they are made of, and they're the cheapest healing item in God Eater." Leet says to Harry, making an offer for the info. "Or you can give me a can of that C4A, we've been short on fireworks, and we could probably make that stuff last for months with some colonizers added to the mix." Uber counteroffers.

"I go by Somatotrope, I'm a Parahuman, which affords me special powers. I can grow anything within a few city blocks that isn't alive, making it larger and more complex." Soma says, keeping it short and sweet as she stands, arms crossed. Her extra tinfoil armor had dissipated during the trip, leaving her in gleaming armor which she left open faced for sociability.

"I figured it out from the way the creatures were fighting. They genuinely had no self-preservation instincts, which means they don't have to worry about dying, which means that if they can take damage, even lethal damage, and not care, it must not be lethal, which means they can regenerate, which means that core that was devoured by the God Eater's weapon was able to reform, which means that the mist those creatures dissolved into was actually their bodies." "It's easy enough to work it out from there." She finishes smugly.

"Right." Soma nods. She gestures for Lucile to toss it on the ground, and when she does, Julie thrusts a hand at it, and with a shout, it erupts into golden flames.

"Well, I've used this technique once, and only on metal. I also don't know ANYTHING about the powers I'm tampering with, so I can't predict what it will do to stuff that isn't metal." Soma shrugs nervously.

"Yeah, I should be able to do it to the scrap metal. Oh, I can probably do it to non-metals, but stuff that isn't metal might react..." "Unpredictably, let's say." -- "Yeah, Laptop over there, it's hooked up to the drone bay. There's a webcam and mic hooked up to it too." Tattletale gestures. "Oh, those creatures you guys fought have some pretty unique biology, if those God Eaters hadn't finished them off, they would have just regenerated, because all of their cells are viable organisms on their own, and can simply reform over time around a central core." She says simply, as though talking about the weather.

"It's a long story, but my power is reacting strangely to magic. I've figured out how to turn ordinary metal into this darksteel substance. It involves some kind of space warping with my power, and some magic holy fire." "I don't understand how exactly I'm doing it, but I know I can convert things into something like this."

Somatotrope walks over to Lucile, showing off the Darksteel Rebar and it's holy flames. She would hear the crackling of what seems to be divine energies, and the hum of subatomic particles forced into light via a strange interaction with the metal. "Here, I figured out how to turn things into this stuff." "I'd like to repay you for my new little friend."

You seal yourself inside the rock, and wear at it's identity to take for your own using Anima wrapped around your hand to rub at the inside of the shelter. It's a weak disguise, and the creatures scrabble at your rocky shelter through the rest of the night. Eventually, morning arrives, and the creatures flee at the morning light. Your eyes are bleary, and your body stiff from assuming the stone form for so long. Stats Inventory Abilities

Soma cautiously lets the Chameleon climb atop her shoulder, and, with a point of her finger, it fires it's deadly tongue. "Not bad, not bad at all." "This little guy should help cover for my weaknesses until I can get some real weapons." "At the same time..." Soma walks over to a piece of rebar, feeling like there's something she can do there. The Darksteel recipe, the Holy flames and Rainbow sparkles. Something tickling the back of her mind comes forth as it clicks in her mind. She raises a hand, and with a Kiai, the piece of rebar erupts in golden flames, twisting and warping until it becomes black and shimmering, with a halo of white light around it. Wrapping a hand around it, she pulls it out of the ground, and it ignites in holy flames, separate from her own power. "Useful for later, maybe."
