  1. I believe that in order to beat the leaders understanding their fields first is a must. Then you can try and turn that against them, which is something we can do against several of them. As for which pkmns you'll put on your team, it's not just about good pokemon, it's about some crappymons that can fulfill a role when you need them to, thus balancing your team. The greatest example, as noted by many, is Kricketune. That thing provided very decent power up until corey, and never before I have even gave it a second glance. It's not just about sheer power either, moves that you wouln't consider at first can save your ass or have a different application in this game that might give you an edge. One example? The relation between the three pledge moves. Understand that and many situations you would consider bleak and/or unfair can become a day in the field. Moves that can literally wreck some leaders and their fields, are earthquake and self destruct, so that golem that can't take a special attack, can provide some help for it's team mates as a suicide lead if it has sturdy. Gym leaders aren't necessarily hard, they are meant to make you think, and that's the jewel of this game.
  2. I have to agree with that, hahaha. Pokémon that evolve through friendship are a real nightmare, especially when you need them to evolve soon in order to learn a good move, add to that the fact that Budew is rather crappy + nuzlocke. That was sad man, but hella funny.

  4. Sun was setting, and a pleasant breeze raced across Iolia Valley. Vero bathed in the afterglow of his recent victories, lying alongside Charizard under a formidable, aged tree. After capturing a certain pokemon hidden under the altar where they chained Luna, Vero felt an eerie sense of understanding followed by overwhelming relief. He gazed at his eclipse badge, seeing it not as a proof of skill, but the symbol of a life saved from a fate worse than death. The sounds of wind and rustling leaves filled the air as sleep embraced the two companions. For now, they dream. 99 words. Man this is hard, especially when you start to get immersed on the writing. This is based on the conclusion of one of my favourite sections of Pokemon Reborn. The interactions between Radomus, Luna and Gardevoir are very entertaining, 7th street had a very satisfatory atmosphere (as a vampire the masquerade player, corruption and a general sense of misery/degradation are always welcome) Iolia Valley is beautiful.
  5. Well I'm no master spriter, but creating an archive on whatever program you use, then pasting an already finished sprite and trying to copy it from scratch yourself can always help you get a better idea on how the combinations and position of the pixels will affect a shape and it's symmetry, coloring comes after that. Once you have a general, but more precise idea on how to shape things then you can go into shading, color balance and stuff. Drawing on paper is, obviously, a completely different story. Learning to master shapes and lines is an excelent start, drawing said objects in different perspectives and angles is the next natural step. As Dobby said, robots, or whatever blocky figures like houses and cars are excelent starting points. Try and draw your lines smoothly, that will keep the paper clean if you need to erase something. Another form of practice that could also help your progress is to get whatever semi transparent paper, place a picture beneath it and copy said picture, but don't limit yourself to just that, always try drawing your own stuff. Practice is a must, so keep those things as a routine and eventually you will get there. And one last advice. Never force your hands too much. If the muscles on your hand are aching, take a break, really, because tendinitis sucks big time. I can tell that from personal experience.
  6. 10/10 Too much shadyness. Such shameless pun...
  7. 10/10 Looks familiar Also, I normally can't get this kind of stuff right (some kind of jynx idk) so is this one more visible? EDIT: Yes, I'm rather fond of wolves...
  8. Regarding the field effects there's a place that will explain them in game or you can check the Field Effects readme file on Reborn's download folder... Edit: There are trainers that can be rematched. They will be found a little further.
  9. Already rated. I don't know if dragons are among your concepts of coolness but...
  10. 7/10 - Heterochromia is the coolest of genetical failures. Also here goes Ps: Seems like she's having fun. She is lacking in coolness though.
  11. 7/10 - Too much animu. You could try finding a picture of a girl covered by ice cubes or snow. It would match your name. A girl stuck in the fridge could work too!
  12. Haha, her voice sounds somewhat funny in some vids tho... now seriously this is kind of off topic but she plays one of my favourite games of all time. Okami is a masterpiece. Awesome visuals, great music, story. It's a pity Clover Studios died.
  13. Well, I believe the whole metamorphosis idea is the crux of his character, and if he is denied that, then it will definitely feel weird. I wouldn't like it if he were to become the "Obito" of reborn: A shunned kid that suddenly turns evil because of a girl and the influence of an old man. I think it's pretty obvious that if he ever becomes truly evil, Luna's rejection will be the main reason behind that, and that's just small. I don't think the world has done many bad things to him, only an unanswered crush and tastes not shared by everyone, so nothing can justify his turn from a misguided kid with poor social skills into a vengeful behemoth. It would actually betray what we believe is his theme as a character. The metamorphosis on bugs, is a growth process and to me, the word growth is intimately tied to personal improvement. Take a caterpillar for example: a bug that many consider disgusting, some species are toxic, it sluggishly crawls from plant to plant devouring several leaves but then, it grows into a butterfly. It becomes a creature that is viewed as a symbol of beauty and grace in several cultures, welcome in all gardens because on top of adding to their beauty it is also a very efficient pollinator. That's what I would expect of Benett. He doesn't need to become Prince Charming, or a psycho. He should just become normal. And by normal I mean accept that not everyone likes what he likes, learn that he can't have everything he wants, learn he doesn't know everything and more importantly, earning his own niche in that world by staying true to those two qualities that he mentions: diligence and commitment.
  14. Well I thought a little before posting this question here because I don't know if this is the kind of thing that should be asked, since it could lead to spoilers and therefore be left unanswered but here goes: In the future, can we expect the player to quit being on the receiving end/ Being responsible for actually accomplishing something major? The reason why I ask this is because after a certain point in the game, I feel the character is incapable of reacting to certain events and some of their actions lose meaning and fail to make a difference because of this. The instance that first comes to mind, is the whole situation with Blake. After all that stuff of denying him the ring he just goes and take it by force, and the PC just stands inertly, doing nothing to prevent it. If the character was a child, that would be understandable but since that's not the case, we could expect the character to push him or in the case of girls, the famous kick in the nuts, then Blake could just run off spouting "You'll never find Heather" or firing any other crappy villainous line. I know the game is still in development and there's a probability that this may be adressed in future updates, so this isn't a complaint or any form of criticizing. It's just a curiosity of mine, followed by an opinion on something that kind of bothers me. Moving on: After playing the game, I liked the name of a few in game places, and was amused when I discovered that they were the names of crystals/stones, which is a nice change from the tide of weird names that plague so many pkmn fangames, so kudos on that. Now for my questions: From whence stems such rock solid knowledge of minerals? What inspired the decision to name the places in reborn after crystals? Is real life Amethyst a brawny, manly miner, who happens to enjoy pokemon and roleplaying as a lady in the web? Why there are so many here who are fascinated by Amethyst's basement, to the point of wanting to live there? What kind of wonders rest in that place?
  15. Groudon used Precipice Blades (this move's name sounds so edgy).
  16. Thanks for the kind words, although luck is merely an illusory essentialization of statistics, and is not inherently good or bad in any way. lol sorry couldn't resist
  17. I don't remember precisely where I've read that, but I'm sure there are people who want Fern to improve as a person and believe that turning on meteor would be his chance to achieve that. I agree with you however. There's nothing likeable and redeemable about him, and seeing how he is always a jerk to Florinia, I can't even feel sympathy towards whatever issues he may have regarding his sister's behaviour.
