  1. Simple Swoobat is a monster if you let it set up (which it can do twice as quickly as most pokemon). After 3 calm minds and an x-speed (maybe some x-defends) it plows through teams of rivals and gym leaders. You may find it worth using in the future.
  2. As of gen 6, passing down TM/HM moves is no longer possible.
  3. I've smashed rocks on the beach for hours, but all I find are tons of Krabby and occasional Binnacle. Is Corphish significantly more rare than these two pokemon or am I just unlucky?
  4. I know that Corphish is on Apophyll beach, but I can't seem to find it on my second file. Is there a certain weather condition or time of day that it can be found?
  5. There's a chance of Amaria having a Mega Slowbro or Mega Swampert (or Blastoise but...meh). Mega Swampert is especially scary; it's bulky, monstrously strong, and in the rain could outspeed and destroy your entire team (depending on its nature and evs). You should strongly consider adding a grass type, a wall, or something to disrupt the rain.
  6. If the goal is to avoid Pokemon that are considered too good then why are speed boost torchic and protean froakie available as starters? Their hidden abilities (mainly torchic's) should be disabled until a later part in the game to prevent people from using them as crutches.
  7. I was able to beat the Rayquaza before facing Julia, granting me a disobedient level 28 and the items that trainer was guarding. With those items, my pokemon will have a much easier time keeping up with opposing pokemons' levels. Couldn't that make the game easier than the original in a sense?
  8. You might find someone willing to trade an Azumarill for a Larvesta in the Reborn trading thread.
  9. Refer to this thread, which is stickied at the top of this subforum, for any item inquiries you have. Note that the dubious disc is a missable item.
  10. Similarly to bad movies, there are some games that are so bad that you can't help but laugh while playing them. The dialogue being nonsensical or poorly translated (the infamous Vietnamese Crystal), the fakemon being poorly designed in some way, and a mess of glitches are common qualities of such games. I'd appreciate hearing about the worst pokemon fan-games you've ever played.
  11. Eevee isn't any known species, but it looks closer to a fox than anything else.

    Shiny Trapinch!

You can hatch a shiny trapinch by breeding normal trapinches;/dittos. Infact, you'll have a better chance of getting a shiny hatchling using the traded trapinch if the Masuda method applies in this game. The only downside is missing out on the 1.5x exp bonus.
  13. Sorry, I don't have one of the desirable starters like torchic or froakie. Let's just go with the 3 for 3 trade.
  14. I choose Growlithe. So the final trade is my Tyrunt + Snivy + Squirtle + for your Gligar + Jigglypuff + Growlithe
  15. Sure, I could trade Tyrunt + Squirtle + Snivy for your Jigglypuff + Gligar + Mystery Pokemon. I think we PM Esesian or Vinny; the links to their profiles are on the first page of the thread. I just need to get a squirtle egg and figure out how to find my save file.
  16. I can trade Tyrant and (Squirtle or Snivy) for your Jigglypuff and Gligar. Choose which one of those starters you'd like and I'll be ready to trade.
  17. The first page states that they'd deny an unfair trade, and I imagine a mystery egg for something found in the wild or obtained in two events would qualify. I'd be willing to trade something for the Gligar. I have a Tyrunt, but do note that the Tyrunt fossil can be obtained in that post-Agate area. I have most currently available pokemon, so if there's anything found in the pre-agate section that you're interested in let me know.
  18. I see you said you had tentacool and staryu, both of which sound interesting. What else do you have in terms of mystery eggs, starters, or pokemon from previous episodes?
  19. I'm also hoping it'd be a postgame thing. When I think of broken gen 1 mechanics I think of partial trapping moves (wrap, fire spin, etc), pokemon up to lvl 255, glitch moves, and the merge glitch. It'd be interesting to build a team to combat a superboss using some or all of these gen 1 "features". I'm surprised trapping moves aren't part of the glitch field. Sure, Terra's (Wide lens) Garchomp having sand tomb would be completely unfair but a slower pokemon using it would be feasible.
  20. It seems like you've only just touched on the ridiculousness of gen 1. Will you be doing more with that field?
  21. Why do you have Ditto under fail? You can use an untrained imposter for any gym leader and it could potentially knock out some mons. In a 6 vs 1 battle it can likely deal more damage with one attack than any of your other pokemon can. It's gotta be at least a C.
  22. I got Snivy as a starter(good IVs or shiny), Pinsir, and Axew from the mystery egg. I'd be willing to trade for anything I am unable to get in this current episode.
  23. I looked through those first two posts and didn't see anything about an amulet coin. Is that also unavailable?
  24. You can use pokemon with prankster to lower its stats or cripple it. Prankster + perish song is an easy way to kill it with as few as 2 pokemon (the second one would stall with prankster + substitute). Imposter ditto could be useful. I'm not sure if a ditto holding a fist plate gets fighting-type judgement, but if so that'd do massive damage.
  25. I think it's pretty clear that Bennett was written to have autism (aspberger's/"on the spectrum"). Bennet has a narrow focus for which he's very passionate (bugs) and struggles with understanding social norms and interactions. He fantasizes about the idea of being with Luna rather than caring about her actual feelings, a common trope for the "nice guy" that people frequently associate with autism. Bennett doesn't believe that he's doing anything wrong. His mind works differently from most; he isn't able to empathize as well as most people can. He doesn't understand why Luna is resisting him or why she denies him because in his mind he's doing what's best for Luna.
