  1. [Enemy Phase] Fighter 1 moves to I12 Fighter 2 moves to K13 and attacks Meredith The axe man ran forward, bringing his axe down and staggering as he missed. Meredith dodged to the side and countered with a lance thrust. Mage 1 moves to F5 Wyvern Rider 4 moves to I7 and attacks Rosalyva The Wyvern Rider who had been hurt earlier by Terrin flew over the wall, and came charging at Rosalyva. With her quick reflexes she manages to ward him off leaving him with scratches and even more annoyed. Wyvern Rider 4 retreats to G7 Louise Holds [Ally Phase] Cherry moves to M13 and attacks Fighter 2 with Poison Knives Cherry ducked low and threw two knives at the axeman. One of them hit the axeman straight on the chest, spreading noxious venom throughout his body. The other, cut a purse at his side spreading golden coins everywhere in the sands. The ones that rolled Cherry's way she picked up gleefully. "All mine now losa! Hehehehe!" Feri moves to L14 and attacks Fighter 2 "The wind spirits feel different here... A perfect opportunity to study the effects of different locations on magic." Feri brought out his tome, and chanted the magical incantations. The winds began to blow turbulent around him and then he closed his tome. He thrust his hand forward silencing the spirits and the winds completely. Moments later the sands under the axeman erupted, a tornado of sand tore him apart leaving behind only his armor and a destroyed axe. "Fascinating, if a bit gruesome..." Saffron holds Turn 2 Cheat Sheet: [Player Phase]
  2. Arthur clicked his tongue at missing the archer. That moment's distraction earned him a javelin that managed to pierce a part of his armor. "Can I leave him to you two? Don't kill him if you don't have to, I think I've just been formally challenged to a fight." Leading with his right foot and kicking into a fast run, he went past the wyvern rider into the tree line circling the captain. "I don't much like people who fight at a range, it counters my fighting style. So let's try again, up close and personal now." Move to M10 proccing running start and attack Captain with Iron Blade
  3. "I guess... I've been around enough fighters to see thing like that. It's one of the most important things to do to stay alive, seeing what your enemy will do and attacking accordingly." With Akane being attacked, he let her take the first step as he circled around to flank the archer. He brought his blade to match her attack, hopefully making it harder to dodge. L8 and attack Archer 1
  4. Arthur looked at the dead body and sighed. The first one of many he guessed. He closed his eyes in silent contemplation for a few moments before returning his gaze at the woman. "Thank you for the assistance, and you have nice technique considering... Well considering you have one less arm." He rubbed the back of his head awkwardly, not sure if he should have pointed it out or not. "I wear my armor to limit my speed and therefore train to get faster, so your handicap is more impressive. Not being a choice and all."
  5. "I actually lived here, for a very long time." Arthur answered Elise. When the gladiator run away went past them, Arthur kept his quiet and to the back. He frowned at the whole ordeal and sighed as soldiers drew their weapons on them. He retrieved his shield and blade getting ready to fight. "We shouldn't have let it come to this; Gladiators shouldn't escape it will only lead to their deaths. You should know this, boy." He sighed, it didn't matter now anyways. Even if he acted earlier, Arthur had a feeling the soldiers would have attacked them just the same. He took off running, moving his armored as fast as he could, past the archer and as at the axe man. He put all of his running speed behind his attack, hopefully wounding him severely. Move to K6, past the Forrest to use all MOV and activate Running Start, and attack Fighter 1 with Iron Blade.
  6. Arthur laughs deeply, shaking her hand and smiling. "I guess it's not! And here I was scared of being rude." He crossed crossed his arms still chuckling a bit. "I'm not sure what will be asked of us today, but we'll just have to do just fine. Thieves won't be much of an issue, we'll have to keep our cool and be kind to the citizens. Have you been to the city before? People in Lorelle can be strange folk, but they are nice deep down I think."
  7. In full armor, Arthur had to enter a few doors sideways, his shoulder pads too wide to make it through. He carried with him all he owned: a sack with the small amount of clothes he wore, his sword and his shield. He entered a room and placed his sack in a corner, not caring much about which bed he would sleep in letter. Everyone else should have first pickings anyways. Putting his shield and sword on his back, he walked back to the main hall with the others, approaching the blonde girl. He'd her name was Elise? "My name is Arthur, pleased to meet you. I hope we'll all get along just fine." He extends his hand out to the woman and a few seconds later realizes his rudeness. "Oh I think it's custom to take off gloves before asking for a handshake... I'm sorry it's hard to take off all the armor after putting it on, I don't mean to offend."
  8. Emilee looked over the staffs... Over and over and over.... But in the end she couldn't make up her mind. "I don't think I'll be buying anything... I'm sorry for wasting your time." She looked disappointed but as much as she wanted to buy a new staff she already had too many. Maybe she would get another chance at another time. Instead, Emilee indulged on her curiosity. "Sorry if it's rude to ask but... What's it like being a manakete? I mean flying and being a dragon and all that?"
  9. Electricity flowed from Terrin's hand, hoping over the wall and searching for a target. A loud scream and sounds of electricity clarify to Terrin what happened: the spirits struck dead on and the Rider's armor served as a perfect conductor making the rider scream and swear from the other side. Cheat Sheet: [Player Phase Continues]
  10. Yahallo, here is the speedy speed boy (gasses are burning) Also thanks to Froger for making this for me as I continue to be unable to make mugs:
  11. Emilee looked in wonder; a Manakete. Honestly, she was never sure if they were real or not. She approached slowly a touch scared of the man, but also curious. The night of drinking had left her with a slight headache, but nothing she couldn't handle. After all drinking had to come with some downsides! "Excuse me, miss. What about staves?"
  12. "I can drink! I'm a country girl for Goddess' sake I can out drink anyone! It's a technique I learned back in the taverns. I can just choose to get drunk when I want to." Emilee got back up, struggling at first to climb the barrel but managing to sit herself again. She smiled at Cass, and nodded. "I'm starting to get a little too sober, so you'll have to share it with me." "Let's enjoy the voyage and forget out troubles, cheers!"
  13. "Oh Eedei sings? That's so unexpected he's such a quiet type. I should ask him for a duet!" Emilee brings her bottle to the air in a cheer and then drinks. "Oh and we could invite his horse as well and then it would be a triet ahahahaha!" She broke into a burst of laughter, laughing so hard in fact that she fell of her barrel. She rubbed her head, but still giggled less loudly now. She rest her head down on the floor sighing. "I'm happy I got drunk today, I hate to get drunk but I think I need to like good old times."
  14. "No one really looks like an 'E' guard you know?" Emilee leaned back resting her head against the wall. "Maybe Idei is a bit of an 'E' but he's not E enough. Do you think he talks to his horse?" She took another swig, and adjusted her seat so she sat cross legged. "I bet he talks to his horse all the time! Like all the time! Like always! Maybe that's why he's so quiet because he wastes his voice talking to his horse! Hehe, Idei is such a silly person talking to horses!"
  15. "'Eeeeeeyyyyyyyy Beef!" Emilee was sitting near a corner on a barrel, with an almost empty bottle in her hand, and an actually empty one rolling near her. Her face was red but joyous and her motions were swervy. "Beefy Beef! Beef Casserole! Cass! Cassy! Beefy Cassy Hehe, you have such a funny name hehehe!" She broke out into a giggle fit, broken by her drinking another sip of the wine finishing it with a loud 'aaah' and then almost losing her balance on top of the barrel, giggling, taking a second sip, and then turning back to Cass. "Oh speakin' of funny names! It's so weird right? We have Casserole Cass, Cadence Cade and Clarisse Clar! We have so many C royal guards. Where are all the Es y'know? Some Emmas and some Emilios. I'm the only E royal guard and that's so sad!"
  16. "Unbearable..." A heavily robed woman fanned herself with a long feathered fan, looking upon the soldiers as they worked with a demeaning look. "This heat, this sand, these winds. There is nothing good about this blasted country, when will His Majesty finish destroying this place. I don't want to spend a single second longer in this place." Placing a hand to her forehead dramatically she sighed. "Oh why can't I be back home with my dearest brother, he must be having the greatest of times." "Commander Cloudbreaker, we've found the targets. A blue haired young woman, a blue haired young man, and an armed group." A soldier approached her with a report, this made her beam up in excitement. "Finally! Let us show these outlaws our class. This is a direct order from our beloved Queen, so do not disappoint me soldiers." She held out her fan, and electricity boomed out in loud crackles. "Show them the might of Dragao, show them the might of Louise Cloudbreaker. We are the storm that dragons fear!" Soldiers chanted the phrase in unison, arming themselves ready for the worse. "We are the storm that dragons... fear..." A young soldier repeated as well a lot less sure about herself. She slowly repeated it over and over again, trying to find courage while sitting on top of the saddle of a brown stallion. She picked up a crossbow from the side of her saddle. "Alright we can do this Idei. Just aim the shooty bit at the enemies and pull the trigger. It's not hard!" Turn 1 [Player Phase] Victory: Defeat Louise Cloudbreaker Loss: All player units are defeated. (Note!: Yellow is desert tiles, check the rule book for the exact penalties this brings to your character. The more brown part is regular sand with no penalties) Cheat Sheet:
  17. Thankfully, the rest of the day went on uneventfully. The party managed to gather up before the afternoon, and Rosalyva received her sword in return. "I sharpened and made it look nice again, but this blade wasn't made to last. It will break eventually. When it does make sure to come buy from us okay dearie?" The party safely left the city, and meeting up at the camp they got ready to leave all of this behind. "To think Roswell would visit the city today of all days." Saffron sighed as they were unpacking and getting ready to leave. "I don't know if it was a stroke of bad luck that he arrived, or good luck that we made it out alive." "'Ey Wyvern Breath!" When the group arrived back at camp a grinning Cherry came up to Ecquis. "I 'ad a vision earlier tha' migh' be useful to ya. I'll share it with ya jus' this once! I saw a ruined house, I was sittin' at da door and a voice said 'Take fourteen steps to da righ', and six above, and there and there you'll find what you love.' Ma visions are always righ' bu' I don' know wha' this one means." Chapter 4: The Moon, the Sun and the Goddess 20th of First Heat The preparations had been handled by Anna and Ian; from canteens, provisions, tents and maps all of it had been bought in preparation entering the deserts of Caelum. The Misguided Children traveled fairly close the coast and crossed the border without incident. As Anna explained: "Despite the war, Caelum still has great interest in trading with Hearthlight. So they protect this area and allow merchants to pass without incident, and the path to Domalat is guarded. We'll follow the protect path for a few days and then strike out North to Natarjah. By then we will be inside Caelum and safe from Dragao soldiers." Traversing the desert was difficult, however. The party opted to set up camp and sleep when the sun was at it's highest, and travel during the night and morning. The cold nights weren't easy, and the mornings were unbearably hot. They traveled without seeing any other group of people in sight, and only broken ruins. Absolutely no traces if water either other than the quickly depleting sources they brought with them. On that specific day, they were getting ready to set up camp when an alarmed Dash came back from scouting the area. "Bad news, there are Dragao soldiers waiting up ahead. There is a wall up as well, I don't think we can make it around." "What? How did they find out? Isn't this area supposed to be protected?" "Y-yes!" Anna looked desperate as she thought of a solution. "The soldiers must have sneaked past to intercept us. This is really bad." "We have no choice but to fight our way through, the ruined walls go on for kilometers in both direction and if we spotted them it won't be long before they spot us."
  18. "Well, in Luceria the priests asked me to come. I could have said no and stayed back with my family, but I accepted. There were many reasons, I wanted to see the world, I wanted to experience new things, I wanted to do something right, I wanted to give back to the church that helped me and my family. And t was really my first chance to strike out my own so, why not?"
  19. "Submissive? This isn't about submission it's about true love." Emilee smiled unfazed by any harshness in Cade's words, or maybe she simply didn't notice it. "I don't mean a girl can't defend herself, I should learn how to defend myself. But man and woman should be more delicate, violence in general wouldn't exist in an ideal world." She put both hands behind her back crossing her fingers over her staff. "So if violence were to stop existing both man and woman could focus on love alone. Love for our families, love for our friends, love for nature, love for the Goddess. And love for one another!" "Also!" With one finger up and leaning forward a bit she continued. "I want to be delicate so that I can give all of myself to someone else, but I expect the same from the other person. So it's a neutral submission, both man and woman are equal in the face of true love. That's what it means after all! And that's what the Goddess expects from us to find comfort in each other and love. Which is why I respect Kaito and Cremia for fighting for their love."
  20. "I never said I was perfectly delicate. I'm working hard on it, and there are still so many habits I need to change in myself." Emilee pointed her staff at the wyvern rider and said. "So it wouldn't hurt to change a little. After all it's also the best way to get closer to the Goddess"
  21. "You could show some decency and class! You did do a good job on the battlefield." Emilee put down her staff, ending her barrage. She straightened herself and tidied up her hair. "A lady ought to better herself in every way, to be kind and gentle. A lady shouldn't say brash things like that! A lady is allowed to have fun, and poke fun at others but never in rude manners. And most of all, a lady ought to be delicate. These are some of the steps to attracting a wonderful prince."
