Happy Birthday , i hope that you will have a great day
-
On this day, I have successfully graduated from Midland University with a degree in Computer Science and Arts Management. Despite the extra year to complete my degree, I am now graduated and will be moving on with my career in information technology. As of now, I am currently employed full-time and working on my Master's in Cyber Security and Information Assurance. It's been a long time coming, but there's a lot more for me to look forward to, with my path towards my Master's degree and my current career.
What does this mean for my video game? Well, nothing actually, because I will be continuing my work on my game in secrecy, due to the nature of my work. I will also be rewriting the entire game, since on a recent playthrough of my game, I was largely displeased with my old writing and decided to forego the old story and improve upon it, in many ways to avoid, what I consider, poor directing decisions, tropey-cliche-bullshit and way too much talking without gameplay for upwards to half an hour.

So, I got called in for Jury duty.
Apparently, Its a lot of... Waiting.
I might not even make it onto a Jury. But Its a day wasted, for me. I could spend this time on RPGMaker and learn how to make a game.
-
Been there, done that. There is indeed a ton of waiting. Highly recommend bringing a book and depending on where your court location is, some snacks because lunch break might not be enough to actually get lunch. Also, be prepared to be there late. I went in for mine at like 7am and didn't leave until 8pm.

Is this the place on 7th street where I can obtain Type:Null? If so, how do I get this gate to open?
EDIT: Never mind, I found the real place!

Trying out some more dialogue for my game.
Would like to be rated.
Aiden- Gym Leader of Bloom Outskirts
Enema- Gym Leader of Bloom Central/Aiden's Ex
Damien- Aiden's Right Hand Man
Tyler- Aiden's Lackey
Dallas- Aiden's Lackey
Carmen- Aiden's Boyfriend
Seth- Your Rival
Vera- Seth's Sister
Spoiler(Sounds of battling and trash cans being flung can be heard from a nearby alley.)
Seth: Uh, ok. I'm just going to ignore that.
Vera: What if someone is in trouble?
Seth: I literally don't care, they're probably in trouble for good reason.
Vera: What if it's a helpless little girl who bumped into the wrong person?
Seth: Then sue the parents for neglect. How many of your sentences have to end in question marks for you to understand, we don't acknowledge these things. Remember, you're a criminal, so lay low, and mind your own damn business!
Vera: Tch, I'm going back there! If you really want to change, you'll come with me!
Seth: (Mocking Vera) Oh, yeah, I want to change! That will definitely get me out of jail! It's not like I've savagely beaten people before! HAHahaHaAha. -Sigh- (Follows Vera)
(In the Alley. 6 Figures are visible. 2 males appear to be battling 1 girl. Male 1 has a Rampardos, and Male 2 has an Aerodactyl. Girl 1 has a Vivillon.)
Vera: SEE, I TOLD YOU S-
Seth: (Cups Vera's mouth and drags her behind a flung Trash can.) -Whispers- Are you stupid? Do you know who that is?
Vera: -Whispering is muffled through Seth's hand- Well, clearly I don't, considering I nearly threw out my Pokemon.
Seth: That's AIDEN. A GYM LEADER. He's literally the law.
Vera: So what?
Seth: We're criminals. And you were about to assault the people with him with your Pokemon. Do you want 20 years behind bars?
Vera: I think 20 years is an overstatement.
Seth: Ok, well, let's bring up your history in the Asteroid be-
Vera: Understood. 20 years is a perfect sentence for someone like myself.
Seth: Thank you.
(Large gust of wind blows Trash Can covering Seth and Vera away.)
Enema: -Panting heavily- Is that all you guys got?
Dallas: You have one pokemon left. You cannot win.
Tyler: You slow or somethin'? Give up while you're ahead and I'll be gentle.
Enema: Tch, ambushing a girl, and then countering her favorite type? I'm pretty sure being "gentle" is out of the picture.
Dallas: Details, details. Quit the talking. Rampardos, end this. Use Rock slide!
Enema: Actually, the battle is already over.
Tyler: For you maybe.
(A swarm of trash cans suddenly drops on Aerodactyl and Rampardos.)
Dallas: What in the-?
Tyler: Holy shit!
Dallas: What the hell did you do!
Enema: Heh, what did you think that blast of wind was for? I had Vivillon use hurricane to fling the trash cans up, and let you two talk your mouths off until they landed. Pretty smart eh?
Dallas: It would've been, if that wasn't the final trick up your sleeve. I still have 2 Pokemon left. And this time, Steel won't hurt them. Go Arcanine!
Tyler: And I have 3 Pokemon! Go Vivillon!
Enema: (A Vivillon? What are they planning?) Vivillon! Use Hurricane to launch those trash bags at them!
Dallas: Not this time you stuck up bug! Arcanine use Heat Wave!
Tyler: Vivillon, use powder!
Enema: Wait, no! Don-!
(Heat Wave Clashes with the Hurricane, Vivillon uses powder to put explosive substances in the air, turning the clash into Arcanine's favor. As well as the Heat Wave turning the Trash bags and bins on fire, and the powder making them explode, effectively turning them into Grenades.)
(Explosion)
Carmen/Damien: AIDEN WATCH OUT!
Seth: Vera, this is our chance! We gotta GO!
Vera: She could be dead! I have to check if she's alright!
Seth: Listen, whoever she is, I know for a fact she wouldn't want a somewhat innocent person to run into the middle of a deadly battle. So do her a favor, and let's bounce!
Vera: No! I'm going! (Runs into smoke.)
Seth: You self righteous piece of..., ugh! (Runs into smoke as well.)
(Smoke clears)
Tyler: Did we get her?
Dallas: We definitely did.
Vera: Go Lucario! Use Close Combat on those losers!
Tyler: What the? Dallas!
Dallas: I got it. Arcanine, use heat wave and light up the leftover substances on the ground!
Seth: Go Throh! Use Wide Guard to block it!
(Explosion clashes against barrier.)
Tyler: They survived? What the- AUGH!
(Tyler falls after getting punched in the stomach by Lucario.)
Dallas: You ignorant little kids! Where did you even come from! Arcanine, use-!
Seth: Throh, use Storm Throw!
(Throh throws Arcanine into the air.)
Vera: Now, Lucario, Focus Blast it into Oblivion!
(Lucario uses focus blast and knocks out the flying arcanine.)
Dallas: Tch, return Arcanine! I still have a Pokemon left, and I'll be damned if I lose to yo-! Go Staraptor! Use Brave Bird on the girl!
Vera: Lucario, use counter!
(Staraptor brave birds into the counter and gets knocked out, flying into Dallas and knocking them both out.)
Seth: Easy. Now let's go check on the girl and get out of here. The police are in hot pursuit of our asses, and I'm 110% sure they'll check an explosion.
Vera: Miss! Are you ok?
Enema: (Covered under trash bags and ash.) Why did you come here! I'm a Gym Leader, I have it under control!
Vera: Well seeing as you're covered in ash and dirt, I'd say you don't, here, let me help you up.
Seth: VERA. WE HAVE BIGGER PROBLEMS.
Aiden: There's just no way, I see little old Seth here. With Vera too. Oh, this is way too good.
Carmen: TOO GOOD.
Enema: Leave them alone Aiden! It's me you came for right? So focus on me, I still have a Pokemon left!
Aiden: Quit frontin', you know damn well your legs will give out any second now.
Carmen: ANY SECOND.
Enema: And you know damn well that this isn't right!
Aiden: Oh so you want to talk about what's right and wrong now? Who made you the grand arbiter on morality?
Carmen: NOBODY.
Enema: Well, why don't y- okay, can you shut your poor excuse for a girlfriend up? I can't believe I dumped you and you crawled to this chick.
Aiden: Go, Silvally! Now. If you have something else you'd like to say, let's hear it. I'm sick and tired of your games. I'm ending your manipulative tyranny here.
Carmen: RIGHT NOW.
Enema: Big words for someone who doesn't understand anything! You're just a pawn!
Aiden: Pawn I may be, but at the end of the day, I'll be at the top, and you should've been there with me.
Carmen: SHOULD'VE.
Enema: Who cares about being at the top! Have you thought about what will happen to everyone you cared about!
Aiden: Everyone I cared about is either dead, or covered in trash in front of me wailing about what's right and wrong.
Carmen: WAILING.
Enema: Don't you have a heart?
Aiden: You ripped out my heart and threw it down the drain along with our relationship.
Carmen: TORE IT OUT.
Aiden: Ok, Carmen, you can stop now. It's starting to annoy me.
Carmen: Haha, my bad. Now who's this trash bag you're arguing with. Can I drop her in a casket?
Aiden: That will be my pleasure, but we can't do that yet.
Seth: -Whispering- Now would be a good time to leave.
Vera: -Whispering- I'm actually starting to agree with you.
(Seth and Carmen slowly tip toe out until they hit a barrier.)
Carmen: Nice try.
Damien: Where do you think y'all are goin'?
Seth: Literally anywhere else.
Damien: Sorry, see, you've seen a bit to much. So you gotta go.
Vera: Does that mean you- you're gonna kill us?
Damien: Duh
......
Seth and Vera: HAHAHAHA, LMAO, LOOK AT THIS TOUGH GUY.
Damien: What the? What's so funny losers?
Seth: (Tearing up from laughter) With all due respect, We've survived much more then you think we have. You won't be killing shit.
Vera: I'm more scared of infection from that trash bag then you!
Damien: Why you little. How about this! Go Salamence!
Seth: Oh.
Vera: Oh.
Seth: Whatever, if it's a battle you want, it's a battle you'll get! Go Greninja!
Vera: What he said! Let's do this Weavile!
Aiden: Go help out Damien, Carmen. I'll handle Enema.
Carmen: She only has 1 pokemon but ok. I'll take on the runts. Go Alakazam!
Aiden: Don't think I haven't noticed you using revives under those trash bags.
Enema: Tch, Doesn't matter. (All I need is to create an opening, and then Aiden is done for!)
Aiden: Your Pokemon are at half health. You don't stand a chance.
Enema: Well, I'm surprisingly resourceful, so let's see!
Damien: I'll crush you, and then I'll take that sweet little girl back home with me!
Seth: If you touch her, on my life, it's a wrap for you! I'll destroy you right here!
Damien: Try me!
Carmen: Guess it's a double battle then!
Vera: Let's smack these guys!
Aiden: You're mine!
Enema: Come at me!
All: I WILL NOT LOSE! '
Aiden's Team: Silvally, Porygon-Z, Mega Pidgeot, Raticate-Alola, Pyroar, Snorlax

Uhm. I don't really have much of a comment on the content, but I did need to at the very least warn you about one of your characters' names. Unless this is one of those weird parody games (a la Pokémon Clover), but you probably will want to change Enema's name. This is a pretty SFW wikipedia article on what an enema is and why you probably want to change the character's name.
In any case, good luck with the game!

Finally got around to playing Rejuvenation. It's been pretty great so far. However... I swept Valarie with one Pokémon? I feel kind of bad, actually? Lol.
-
@Yagami Yeah, I can definitely see how being locked into Terajuma with no options to catch effective Pokémon would make it hella tough. Good thing for your Zebstrika, eh? xD
@Zargerth *high fives*
@DreamblitzX Hahaha, it is pretty great. I didn't add it in until after Blacksteeple because there were no good grinding points until Goldenleaf and A!Raichu isn't terrible good for Narcissa so I put off raising it up. Seems I did it at the perfect time. I totally expected to get my ass handed to me the first time, but nope.
It's funny you say that about Leavanny and Abomasnow. I had those two waiting in the wings to come help! xD

@Yagami That would have been interesting to see! To be fair, I didn't catch anything. I went in with a team of my flexible pool of available 'mon. Tbh, I'm not sure how much of a threat Rotom-W would have been. The only one I had any "trouble" with was her Lanturn due to setup. The rest were one shot.
@DreamblitzX Alolan Raichu. Nasty Plot up, naturally out speed pretty much everything, and Thunderbolt everything that breathes.

Man, I never knew grinding in Pokémon Reborn takes a while. Trying to level up my Pachirisu, Kabuto, and Slurpuff to level 59. So far, I got Pachirisu to level 46, Kabuto to level 26, and I haven't started on Slurpuff, therefore, it's still at level 15.

Eventually when you battle the trainers in the Grand Hall enough, you max out your money (as in you won't earn any more unless you get rid of some). What to spend it on? Rare Candy! Build up a nice stock for when it might be inconvenient to grind the old fashioned way. I also buy a ton of Repels and other useful things. Just some food for thought!

Pokemon Uranium is pretty good so far, but I don't see what all the ruckus was about. I seems pretty average to me, which makes me wonder why it got so much publicity that Nintendo had to take it down.
-
Disclaimer: this is all my opinion on the events. Basically, the whole thing was a perfect storm of media attention, fan hype, and a twitchy lawyer trigger finger which led to the ruckus. To start off, some background from my perspective... Fan games were relatively low profile things for many fans and most people. ROM (and thus the resulting hacks) had a certain bit of notoriety among the general population. Fan games, on the other hand, exist in a sort of grey area to many. I think it was about two years ago that I saw a Kotaku article on Pokémon Sage, along with another post on some other "big name" fan games/hacks. I really think that article marked a sort of turning point in perception and even, acceptance towards both. We can even see this sort of illustrated for Pokémon Sage in particular, as they put up several notices on their wiki and forum regarding outside involvement (with the game development originating in /vp/) encouraged by the articles.
From here, we arrive at a sort of conundrum. We had a large advent of "new blood" in terms of people playing, developing, etc. Then we had the old guard of people who had been playing and such, long before these articles started coming out. With the former, we had people that were unused to the sort-of status quo with fan game development being... well, to be honest, spotty at best. Projects living and dying by the phase of the moon. Further, there really aren't that many complete, good quality games (that I've seen, but I'll be the first to admit I'm picky). With this in mind, to the outsider and the media, with the Uranium devs hyping about how they're basically finished with 6-7 years worth of development and a mostly-complete game, it was a big deal! Which I mean, isn't a bad thing and was definitely something to celebrate imo, but the media took that and ran with it like crazy, which created a bubble. A nice little bubble of popularity that, left alone, would have eventually naturally faded. But... Nintendo did the thing.
They sent the devs a letter asking them to take down the download links, which while not a C&D, ultimately had the same effect. Unfortunately, lawyers rarely consult with PR management and probably had little to no idea what exactly this could do. The Uranium devs complied and unknowingly, took the nuclear option (pun intended), went public with exactly why they were doing things. The media, as they do, were still tracking the stories and staying abreast of new developments. When the Uranium devs broke the news regarding the lawyer notice, the media honed in on that new story like a shark smells blood in the water. Combine that, with an overwhelming sense of fan outrage, and voila. One vastly over-hyped experience. Which isn't a knock on the game, just that there is a certain correlation between media attention and expected quality (see No Man's Sky). This isn't anyone's fault really, other than Nintendo's lawyers. Had they simply waited two weeks to send their notice or even, let that popularity bubble fade away... I'm fairly certain none of this would have happened.

Excuse me, fellow Desolation fans. Yes, ah, Tristan can kindly go screw himself with a pogo stick. That is all.
-
I didn't have too much issue with him. My frustration, I think, was more than the difficulty spike for him in particular was... enormous. Both Connor and Aderyn were satisfyingly challenging, but it almost seemed like Tristan was just a bit much? Meh, I might just be out of practice, I haven't played in a while.

Nintendo Switch: My Thoughts
So, as of tonight there was a pretty extensive look at the Nintendo Switch and its features. A lot of the functionality and technical aspects of it are very impressive. Even a lot of the games had me pretty amazed at what it could do, especially that Overwatch Boxing game. I know it's not Overwatch, but I can't help but look at it that way.
The games presented were extremely breathtaking and awesome, especially Splatoon 2, which should've been named Spla2oon, which is a missed opportunity but I digress. Fire Emblem Warriors, because I love me some Fire Emblem. If they don't have Mia playable in that game... I'M GOING TO BE VERY ANGRY!!! The new Mario game looks awesome, and I never thought I'd say that about a Mario game, since the only ones I care about are the Mario RPG's, Paper Mario, and Sunshine, so you can tell I am pretty excited for it. However, I think the game that caught most people's eyes, including mine was The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Voice acting, and anime... ALL THE ANIME! That game has become extremely anime, and I like it.
Overall, I'm extremely looking forward to the Nintendo Switch and all that it has to offer. I may actually end up throwing a lot of my money at that console, which is something that I haven't done in a long time! Also... Xenoverse 2 for Switch, confirmed! Because you all know me - I like my Dragon Ball XD -

So, I found out my debit card was compromised and someone made off with nearly $500 this morning. But this evening found out an old "crush" of mine very much felt the same. So altogether good day?
