My guilty pleasure is that I love it when bad things happen to people I don't like. That Rosanne thing from a few weeks ago? I was all, "She lost her job for being a racist bitch? YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET" You may wonder how I became such a depraved individual who delights in the pain of their enemies. 1. I was bullied in school. A LOT. I tried telling the teachers, but most of them didn't give a shit and the few who did were about as helpful as a screen door on a submarine. I was helpless, too weak to resist or take revenge, and the bullies always got away with what they did to me. 2. I'm kinda dead inside so the closest emotion to joy that I can feel is schadenfreude

Oddly enough, in the game, shiny Garchomps appear bluer than normal Garchomps to me. But I’m positive that the Garchomps I saw in the anime are not shiny, so I think it’s safe to say that’s not the case. Perhaps my eyesight is failing me. After all, I did think that dress was white and gold…

It’s consistently portrayed as blue in the games, so why is it purple in the anime? Also, off-topic, but it’s been a few months since I’ve been on these boards, and it’s nice to be back.

*ka-glomps RainbowHugs* Nice to see another Aussie on the Reborn forums Here’s my question: If you were a gym leader, what type would you specialise in, and what Pokémon would you use?

My pick is Hydreigon, for the Deino line has tremendous sentimental value to me. It’d be great if I could bring my Cecil into the real world.

I actually like this idea. It’s progressive in both game mechanics and social justice.

I haven’t come across many hard games unless I’m doing challenge runs, but I remember playing one of the Etrian Odyssey games (I forgot which one), and I kept dying in the tutorial. THE TUTORIAL. xD

I’ve seen some posts around here saying that the story changes depending on whether or not you rescued all five policemen before beating Taka and ZEL. I’m just curious as to what happens if you rescue all of them and what happens if you don’t, so if anyone could explain (in depth) what happens in both cases, that would be great. Thanks in advance

According to this walkthrough, no. I’m currently stuck at the ZEL/Taka boss fight. Flaaffy, Sudowoodo, and Hariyama are very recent additions to my team, so I’ve just been wandering around Beryl, levelling those guys up. I dunno, I kinda suck at Pokémon, so I don’t have a specific strategy. I’m just trying to get a balanced team (eg. a team comprised of a physical attacker, special attacker, wall/tank, support, etc.). My playstyle isn’t too aggressive; I enjoy stalling, but not for the whole battle. I like Mons that can take a hit, and I prefer ≤UU Mons; I try to refrain from using OP (overpowered, but the secret meaning is overly popular) Mons like Greninja or Lucario.

But before I get to natures, I have to decide: Should I make my Growlithe special or physical? Or go with mixed? Special because the only good physical fire move he can learn is Flare Blitz, (but it has recoil >_>), and I’d much rather he have something more dependable like Flamethrower or Heat Wave. Physical because my team is already very special-based, and the standard Arcanine seems to be Adamant. If anyone knows about synergy, these are the other Pokémon on my team: Meowstic (F) Swalot Flaaffy Kricketune/Grovyle Sudowoodo/Hariyama * Virgules mean I’m currently alternating between the two depending on my situation

I’ll try to remember that, thanks. Loyalitie already guessed it, it’s the one against ZEL and Taka. Ah, I didn’t know that. I guess M-Sceptile doesn’t really matter then. I could really do with an Arcanine. I didn’t know you could get a Growlithe because at that point, I’d only rescued 4/5 of the missing policemen.

I’m in the Beryl Ward, and there’s a certain boss battle I keep losing, so I thought that maybe I should make some changes to my team. Here is my current lineup: Grovyle: lv 26 Meowstic (F): lv 28 Swalot: lv 26 Loudred: lv 26 Kricketune: lv 28 Bibarel: lv 28 I want to keep Meowstic because she has a Modest nature and the ability Competitive. Swalot I also want to keep, because he’s my wall. And Bibarel is my HM Slave, so he needs to stay. That leaves Kricketune, Loudred, and Grovyle. They all have pretty crappy defences, and die in 2-3 hits dealt by similarly-leveled Pokémon. I sort of need Kricketune; he has decent attack, and no one else on my team can counter Psychic and Dark types. I’m thinking of getting rid of Loudred, because his speed really hinders him. Unlike the other two, he can’t even get a hit in before dying. I regret choosing Grovyle as my starter. I only did so because I chose Torchic in Emerald, Mudkip in AlSaph, and wanted to try something new. Otherwise, I normally stay away from Grass starters, because they’re usually the worst of the bunch. And Sceptile’s Mega Evo isn’t really worth it, because Grass/Dragon is crap. These are the Pokémon I currently have in my PC: Bellsprout Cacnea (egg) Castform Drifloon Drowzee (egg) Electrike Glameow Granbull Happiny Hoppip Igglybuff Lillipup Mareep Munna Noibat Pansear Pidgey Plusle Sentret (egg) Skitty Swirlix Teddiursa Wingull Woobat Zigzagoon Of all of those, I like the look of Mareep; M-Ampharos has good defences and even better hair. Noivern is pretty decent, but putting up with Noibat’s mediocre stats until lv 48 is gonna be a pain in the butt. Suggestions for Pokémon not in my PC are welcome, since, frankly, most of the Mons in there are garbage (ironically, I don’t have a Trubbish in there).

I was just wondering if the hate he gets is justified, or if this is a case of ‘Ron the Death Eater’* * The short version for those who don’t know what I’m talking about but who’d rather not go to TV Tropes: Basically, a sizable chunk of the Harry Potter fandom abhors Ron Weasley, who is otherwise a nice guy and a decent character, for the pettiest, stupidest reason ever: He gets in the way of Draco x Hermione. I feel that this hate is unwarranted, because in the source material, Ron doesn’t do anything to deserve this hate. (The above is just an example; the hate needn’t stem from shipping preferences, but it does need to be a reason, that, by itself, is completely asinine.) But anyway, with all the foreshadowing everyone’s been doing, Fern will eventually do something that definitely justifies all the hate he gets. Thanks, I’ll be sure to try it out sometime

I resized the image like you suggested and now it works! Thanks! --- And oh god… Everyone’s ominous warnings about Fern are scaring me. The worst possible thing I could think of him doing is fleeing while I’m completely surrounded by Meteor grunts, resulting in 4 double battles in a row with no breaks or healing. Please tell me it’s not that bad.

I began playing Reborn a few days ago, and so far, I’m really impressed with the game’s quality. The field effects and the added level of challenge are refreshing; I like the darker atmosphere and the well-written NPC dialogue too. Definitely one of the best fan-made Pokémon games I’ve played. If anyone feels generous today, I have a couple of questions that need answering: 1. My avatar is a gif, but how come it doesn’t animate like other people’s ones do? 2. What’s with all the Fern hate? Sure, he’s supercilious, but he’s not much worse than Blue or Silver. The former has his detractors, but he isn’t completely despised, and the latter has been turned into Draco in Leather Pants thanks to millions of fangirls. Granted, I’m used to dealing with douchy characters in video games, and I’m only about 3 hours into Reborn, so I don’t know if Fern gets worse later on.
