  1. Combat

    Fire Gym

Don't worry my friend, we're both in the same boat. The boat's name is the S.S. Pain. No refunds.
  2. Is the power to smite those who stand in my way too muck to ask? Yes? Alright, I'd like a cheese burger with fries.
  3. My Spanish teacher always used to say, "There is such thing as a stupid question." That's probably why I failed Spanish.
  4. Unpdate on my progress. I tried to use a Bronzong in an attempt to set up a Trick Room, but the poor thing always gets annihilated by heatwave/flamebitz combo. I also threw Trickroom on my Meowstic (F) and had similar results. My issues with this gym (and Samson's) is that there are plenty of "perfect" Pokemon to counter her, but most of them are unavailable since I'm stuck in the Circus area. I feel like the Gigalith/Bronzong combo could work, but she always manages to sweep my Trickroom setter before I get the chance. So I guess my next strategy should be getting a Golduck and having some rain dance users. I know generally it's best to post your team here, but right now, I feel like no one in my team has any sort of advantage, save for my Kingler.
  5. Ha! I've broken your system! I don't have a girlfriend! So take that... Society... Yeah... I think I'm going to do something now... Alone... Oh well, back to "To Catch a Yeti!"
  6. Wait, I forgot to mention my biggest "Oh Dear Lord No" moment. Chopping your hand off in the Walking Dead game. Seriously, that part gives me chills just thinking about it. It's even worse when you know that it's coming. It's like watching a horror movie, and you want to yell "No you idiot, don't go in there. That's where murder happens." at the screen.
  7. Thanks everyone, I'll be sure to take a look about to get some "experience" here. I can already see that this community is much less venomous than my previous one. I'll see all of you around hopefully, and once again, thanks.
  8. Hello, this might sound strange, but I have a small request of sorts. Would anyone mind if I observed this Role Play from a distance, so that I might better my own style and writing? As you can probably tell, I'm very new to the Reborn forums, and as such, I know that a green horn like me can be concerning when it comes to Role Plays. While I have spent a few years on some iPod app that had Role Plays on it, I'm getting the general feeling that Role Plays here have something I like to call quality, which is all but gone from the application I used to play on. So pretty much what I'm saying is, would anyone feel uncomfortable if I kind of "creeped" on this once it started, just so I can get an idea of how it works here? I know that I probably watch in silence, but I feel like getting permission would be the better thing to do. Thank you for you time, -Combat Medic
  9. Every time I see that accursed Voltorb flip mini game, I go through all five stages of grief, then end up using the website to actually make progress in that mini game. When I first started Rejuvenation, I told myself that no Pokemon was worth the time I would need to spend on that mini game (even with the website, my luck is terrible) but when I saw you could get a Meowstic... In short, the website will help you immensely.
  10. Thanks everyone, I'm going to try a combination of your advice to see if I can finally take down this little pyromaniac. The reason I didn't post my general/current team is because I wanted to get an idea of what kind of combos everyone else used, but if my problems persists, I'll happily list out my current team. Well, now I guess you could say... I'm fired up.
  11. Hey, me again. Right now, I'm stuck at Charolette, and was wondering what stardegy I should use. I have been grinding my Archanine with flash fire up to pair with my Typhlosion, but have been having limited success due to her rock type moves. I know quite a few people swear by rain dance, which is an option I would be willing to explore, though I'm unsure of what the best Pokemon to pair rain dance with is. I do have a high leveled Kingler, and am willing to catch a new Pokemon, but any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  12. The Final Black Knight battle is just mean... I still haven't beat that jerk with legit means...
  13. -Finding a Monster House in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon -Doing the Pit of One Hundred Trials in the Paper Mario series -Escort Missions -Any time you have to run away from a huge, un-killable enemy -Playing a horror game and having a small, cute animal getting introduced -Playing Pikmin 2 and having the Waterwraith show up
  14. This, this is why I love Reborn. No other Pokemon fan game would have the gall to put a freaking Cory in the House Easter egg into it's game. Once again, I can say that I'm honored to play this game, even if it is a turn based Dark Souls.
  15. I thought of a few more. Here they are in list form! -Beloved pet character dying (Lassie no!) -Impractical armor (I'm looking at you Rosa from Final Fantasy Four...) -Surprise! Your best friend is a villain! -Surprise! Your daddy is the final boss! -There's a cave behind the waterfall -Polar opposite karma choices (You can either make the old lady a Centaur, or send her to the darkest pits of Detroit) -The main character dies at the end (Seriously, why have so many major games been doing this lately) -You think the main character dies, but the game hints that he or she might still be alive (Why try to kill them off in the first place)
  16. Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace. Nuff said.
  17. While in theory, I understand how this would work as a game play mechanic, but I can't see how this would really help the game in any way. First off, I'm sure many people would be taken aback by the mechanic, as it feels a little "troll like." Plus I feel like this might hurt the game developers themselves, as it's basically saying "You want to explore the world we crafted? We, you better be quick about it." I can't imagine developers designing a world, placing in details, ect with the knowledge that players would either be rushing past them, or being punished for looking at them. I'm sure some hardcore independent games might do this, but in my opinion, it feels a little anti gamer to me. Majora's Mask had a time limit of sorts, but didn't overly punish the players for exploring, and gave them a fall back plan. I'm willing to say that most people get just as much stress from an invisible timer as they do from escort missions. If a game were to have a time limit, it would need to be a selling point, not some surprise mechanic, because that would kind of be a jerk move in my opinion.
  18. I absolutely hate it when the main male character and the main female character hook up at the end. It's that kind of fairy tale ending that just annoys me at many points during a game, movie, book, ect. Fire Emblem did a good job at giving you options with support conversations, but that's one of the few I can think of... And don't get me started with the "Have a side character whose a jerk, than reveal them to be a bad guy" cliche. Way to many games and movies follow this formula, and it usually annoys me, as I'm more surprised when they don't turn out to be a villain than when they do. Also, we always need a teacher/sensi/older character to get killed off to act as some sort of call to action. Star Wars did it, Final Fantasy did it, heck, a few of the fan made Pokemon games I've played did it. I suppose it's usually necessary for the plot progression, but when an older character get's introduced, I usually have a hard time getting attached to them...
  19. Happy Birthday person I've never met!
  20. I got a shiny Absol accidentally while trying to get a good nature. It was a good day.
  21. These are freaking awesome. Now, I want to see how my shiny Absol will look if/when I Mega Evolve her.
  22. Well, if we're going with frowned upon Pokemon, I would like to say that Zubat and Co are Pokemon I like. I raised one in Soul Silver, and still don't regret it. I also feel like certain Eeveelutions don't get enough love, but that's just a personal preference.
  23. Out of curiosity, how would you define a Pokémon as underrated? Is it's use in competitive, or is it just people general opinion of it?
