I don't really mind starters being changed, as early game Fern wasn't something that was really dangerous - it was later when he became that way (at least in my opinion). I think that the Litten line would help improve Victoria. The water alolan starter I have no thoughts on, but I agree with you on Muk completely. (Aya having A-muk [and maybe Toxapex?] At least tears would be engulfed in her field) As far as Fern's team goes, around Shelly and afterwards there's a distinct difference in the teams of the rivals. Victoria before Shelly, Cain at Beryl Cemetery, Fern at uhhh the Grand Hall? Would a Scyther at the Trainer School be a bit much?

Aggron could be a potentially good swap for Pawniard, with its good defence and attack. It can be caught fairly soon.

I forget if Emolga learns Acrobatics in time for that fight... I'd replace Donphan because just looking at it, it doesn't seem like it can carry weight in this battle. I second the Graveler recommendation and Dodrio. What is Ampharos doing when Scyther comes out? Paralyzing it could help. I had a Fearow for her and I found it lackluster and ended up swapping it out for Emolga/Dodrio. I really want to tell you to just burn the field, because Hardcore doesn't like to pull punches but you said you don't want to do that. If you have a trubbish trained up you could toxic spike em. Do you have Psyduck/Golduck? It would be useful for this battle, as would Dewgong if you got the Seel egg instead of Cacnea.

So does this mean that is replacing the books stack? Or is there a building at the CoM instead of just walking into it and being teleported to the first battle?

Capture tons of pokemans, make sure you are up to date on hidden abilities since they are more frequent, you can make any of the starters work so choose the one that suits you best! >:] I'd take time to talk to all the NPCs and just explore. Study up on field effects so you can effectively burn everything that Ame has carefully made to the ground turn the tide of battle into your favor. Light Shards are your friends. Don't be afraid to try new team members that you haven't used before, they probably will become invaluable! Above all, enjoy the journey!

I don't have much experience but there are more fingers on my hand than times I had the AI mess up on me during my run of EP15 Hardcore. Think of Air Balloon to force repeated EQ spam by Terra, or Pyroar's typing allowing Qwilfish to only spam bubblebeam 90% of the time instead of 100% of the time. I'm not quite sure if that helps answer it. Granted there can only be so much that the AI can do.

I'm still stuck on Terra. Even Air-Ballooning her isn't working. So I'm probably going to wait for new mons to be added in EP16 and try CoM again. Not to mention that Luna/Charlotte are huge pains that prevent me from even getting to Terra. I'm not going to give up trying the CoM, just not going to bash my head in repeatedly for now. Besides even if there are two new fire types added it could help. Camerupt could be replaced if the mega isn't given this episode. So, we'll see. IDK what would. Perhaps Delphox? We'll see. Back to the burning drawing board. Anyway, thought I'd give a little update.

While I do acknowledge the difficulty of El's battle and I share the feeling that if we lose I, personally, would like to be able to progress ,but sided with Radomus. That being said, you can use other strategies that aren't Curse/Perish Song etc. Example - I confused Arceus with confuse ray, threw up fire spin, and just hit with as many flare blitzs or other heavy hitting moves until dead. It took a few tries because confusion is a bit wonky, but it can work. Smokescreen or Sand-Attack are great moves as well to lower accuracy. Plus you know El will heal, so take advantage of that by lowering stats, or boosting your own. It took me a few resets to get the strategy but it was very satisfying to burn Arceus and El with the power of fire. There are both "cheap" easier methods of defeating him and harder ways of defeating him. Hyper Offense just isn't the answer when it outlevels you severely and hits like a truck. It's Arceus.

Oh, well I guess there that goes. inb4 next battle he has same field X_X Here's another question. I can't tell you how many times I've said outloud; 'Typhlosion! Eruption full power!' against her only to watch her Mega's HP slowly fall despite the boosts and I just smile as she EQ's away. Recently bought air balloons so exploitation away! [:

Congratulations on the new thread! I really like the new setup and the explanation of the difference from regular Hardcore and the CoM. With that being said... Really. I really mean this. Hats off for CoM Terra. I'm STILL stuck on her. Hell, half the time Luna stops me in my tracks. Now I've deffo struggled with some battles in Hardcore and I know that you did do work to make these battles hard. I remember, but I'm still impressed with them. I mean wow. Luna, Charlotte, and Terra are the looming threats for me still. I haven't made it to Ciel yet so /shrug. Just me appreciating CoM. I might actually do a team reshuffle. We'll see. The day I beat CoM Terra is the day that I post in complete caps lock. Anywho, yay for the new thread. Oh, is there a way I can go back and battle the trainer before Mewtwo without the use of RPGmaker? Or am I locked out after battling Terra? I'd like to rematch him before I continue my CoM trek.
