TIL that we get bored because the brain gets hooked on opioids, which are produced in mass amounts when you have a new experience. As you redo an activity, less opioids are produced.
Something to do with opioids. When we have a new experience, we get a kick of opioids, but when we've done something already, less opioids are produced. Unfortunately, being boredom prone is somewhat hard-wired.
