I mean... it started off that way in Demon Souls and then was brought back in every game ((including Bloodborne)) since. Personally though I don't really consider it backtracking... in most of the games they jsut plop you in the world and you go explore it in whatever way you want to. That's how every Souls has worked. They let you just wander right into areas that are much to difficult techinically etc... it's about Exploration. So, yea, you'll have to go back at times lol. (...

((not trying to change your mind. I get it, the series is definitely not soemthing fro everyone.)) But it's not really backtracking in the normal sense, and to me it never felt like I was going back unless I purposefully wanted to ((to say grind out a level, or try and find secrets in an area.))

Im not talking about that, im talking about the sparsity of the bonfires, i died in DS1 and i had to spend 20 minutes getting back to the point where i was where i died, thats what im talking about.
