Luka stepped off of Grumpy, taking care not to harm the pegasus. “Sorry about that.” Luka scratched the back of his head, slightly embarrassed for having disturbed Saffron’s pegasus. “I’ll try to be more careful next time.” Luka looked at Grumpy. “Or maybe your pegasus will be a bit nicer then, instead.” Luka put a smile on his face, making sure Saffron could hear the barely serious tone in his voice. “Maybe someday, though.” Luka brushed his hand through the pegasus’s mane. “I’ll get to ride a pretty pegasus like you.”

“’Girly’? Why does he think that? Do I look girly to you?” Luka tossed aside his long hair back over his small shoulder, his blouse shifting slightly as he spoke in his rather high pitched voice. “But, if he thinks well of me...” Luka jumped onto Grumpy’s back, trying his best not to hurt the pegasus. Luka waited to see how the graceful creature would react.

Dang, she really is cute. Luka quickly noticed his own odd expression, quickly snatching back his scarf from the princess. “Hoo, did it get cold around here? Sorry, I need this back!” Quickly tossing his scarf around his neck, he tried his best to cover his own face. “But yeah, um… Thanks.” While Saffron couldn’t see his mouth, a nervous smile was on his face. “Honestly, my inner thoughts are something I like to keep to myself, but I won’t hide all of my words around you, I guess.” “And I promise. I’ll help you find Snow.” Luka pulled down his scarf, making sure the princess could see his bright smile. “Dancers love to see their audience smile, and I’ll make sure I get to see yours alongside your pegasus.”

’Grounded in reality’, huh? I really am different from a princess. “Alright, I won’t tell anyone, but...” Something didn’t feel right in Luka. “I won’t accept that as my apology to you.” Luka closed his eyes, trying to think of something. Only one thing came to mind. “Punch me in the face!” Luka’s expression held no humor. He was seriously telling Saffron to punch him in the face. “I don’t deserve your kindness, so you need to punish me for what I did.”

Luka felt the last of his emotions settle down, realizing what he had done. Darn it... I was hoping I'd never do this again. Luka searched through his mind, reaching for something to say. No matter how many times it’d happen, he’d never learned how to really ask for forgiveness. Before he had always accepted it, simply resigning himself to losing someone. Perhaps it’d happen again. Then a thought came to his mind. “If you hurt someone’s feelings, sometimes, all you can really do is apologize. But it’s certainly a good start.” Advice Luka never really did take before. Took a lot for him to actually decide to follow it. Trying to find a cloth close by, Luka only found one on his person. Unwrapping the scarf from around his neck, he handed it to Saffron. “I’m really sorry...” Luka tried not to look the princess in the eye, resigned to whatever would happened. “I, um, tend to snap at people when something hits a bit hard or when I get a bit stressed. I… really hate when I’m rude to people.” It didn’t feel like enough, but it was all he could think of to do. "Is there something I can maybe do to show how sorry I am?"

“It's that I've already accepted that she is probably dead.” Something inside Luka snapped as he heard those words. “You’re just going to accept that she’s dead?! How could you?” An angry tone was behind Luka’s words as his inner thoughts came out. “How could you just think she just died like that? Put some darn faith into her!” Luka’s expression changed as well, his usual false smile gone. “Don’t you have any hope? Hope that maybe you’ll see her again? You’ve got enough hope to stop an entire war, surely you can spare some for your pegasus.” Luka put his hands to his head, trying his best to control himself. He had let out some rather rude words to the princess. Trying to calm his emotions, he continued, a smile back on his face. “Pegasi are smart creatures. I bet she escaped the castle the minute she noticed something bad was happening. Put some trust into her. I bet she found a safe place to hide until she could see you again.” He honestly did believe himself. Sometimes he wondered if he was a bit too optimistic.

Karol Hm, certainly some interesting things to tell the rest of the group. “Well, I’ll make sure to show up then.” Karol expected the killer to come here. Brume and Caspiel must be high ranking targets for them. Whether or not something does happen, it was worth keeping an eye on the place. Looking to her side, Karol noticed the lack of a certain Cambion. “Darn it, I should’ve known she’d run off. I should put a leash on that girl, maybe.” Turning towards Hesediel, Karol shrugged her shoulders. “Siblings, man. They aggravate you sometimes, but you gotta love them.” Not that Karol had much love for her. It was more just acknowledgement of presence. Though, she at least tried to be civil around her. “I’d better go looking for her. Hopefully she didn’t wander off to far.” Karol nearly walked off, already facing away from the kind tour guide. Looking over her shoulder, she asked Hesediel a quick question. “Hey, if you don’t mind.” The man was certainly nice. Perhaps he’d be useful later on. “Do you happen to have any way I could contact you? Like a phone or something?” He was certainly a good tour guide. Maybe his wife’s nice, too.

“You just took him from the castle stables? What about their owner?” Luka was shocked to hear the rather odd story of how Saffron had gotten her loyal steed. Luka shook his head, trying to not press the issue of Grumpy any further. It wasn't exactly the most pressing issue he had in mind, anyway. Well, it’s not the first time someone sent a person to battle, despite a complete lack of combat training. "Actually, probably not an incredibly important question, I'd imagine." “You seem so calm about the fact that you had left your own pegasus.” Luka had never had a pet before, but he certainly felt like he’d feel a bit more shaken if he had to leave it back home, especially with no one back home. Yet, Saffron’s expression didn’t seem to change much. Perhaps Luka simply didn’t notice it? Or maybe Saffron is just stronger than him. Still, Luka wanted to confirm it. “Aren’t you worried about her?”

“I’m glad to have this honor, Saffron.” But you know, I wouldn’t mind a few gold bars. Luka let out a laugh, somewhat more audible than Saffron's, from hearing that Keagan of all people was the one to think so highly of a ragtag group named the Misguided Children. Luka looked over his shoulder, seeing Keagan polishing his armor. For such a serious guy, you certainly don’t look like the type to have fantasies about professional tacticians in a resistance led by a pirate. “Say, where did you get your Pegasus?” Luka put his hand to the winged horse’s mane, hoping that such a graceful creature would be rather nice. “I can’t imagine it’s easy to own one, especially one capable of entering a battlefield.” Man, I remember all those kids asking their parents for a pet pegasus. Luka tried not to think about the time he asked his mother for one. Sadly, she said no.

I'm just gonna pretend those dances are just magical jewelry that Luka uses when he dances. Would explain why they have weight and durability. As for actual purchases, nothing really overly useful, I'd say, especially when Luka really just wants to just dance for people, not boost or reduce stats. Though it would be nice to just have one on me for the sake of being able to have multiple options. If I had to narrow it down to two options, it'd be... Soldier's Drum-100 (20 QL, Target ignores weapon triangle penalties), and Surprising Shimy-100 (70 Hit, 20 QL, -15 to Hit for 3 turns. Does not stack.) I'm personally leaning towards Soldier's Drum, since I feel ignoring Weapon Triangle Penalties can be rather useful, and Luka can use instruments with a range of 1-2, as well as targeting two units (citation needed, but I believe it says so in the rule book). Though, as a mainly support unit I'd feel it best to maybe see what the rest of the group has to say.

“Saffron.” Luka approached the princess, hoping to have a short talk with her. “I never did get your response about how you felt about me commanding your allies.” Well, more so I didn’t get a thank you, at least. Perhaps she had been busy focusing on the battle. The princess's allies certainly focused more on fighting than some of the Misguided Children. How the heck do we always find time for a bit of chit-chat during battles, anyway? “I’d imagine Feri was expecting to be led by a warrior, not a Dancer of all people.”

Luka shut his eyes, the light of the flames near blinding him. Listening to the sound of Serene’s singing put a sense of peace in himself. “Those creatures kind of remind me of the people in Dragao. How fitting that they wear the same armor.” Luka spoke, no one in particular he intended as a recipient. “Brought into a battle they never wanted to be a part of. Only difference is how long their battles will be. This one ended in an evening. Dragao is still fighting their war.” Luka looked to his side, Hoshiko’s bow grabbing his attention. “How I wish I could hold a weapon like that. Maybe then, they would be home in my place.”
