  1. Its that time again! This week wasn't too eventful, but lets be real here, how could Sakurai follow up the Smash Direct without spoiling too much? Monday 4/14 Monday's Pic was pretty interesting, it gave us details on Greninja's Side Special. The move is called Stealth Sneak and can be charged by holding down the special button. This is kind of interesting and leaves me with a question or two. The question is mostly revolving what Greninja can do while charging his B. The way it is worded reminds me of Zero in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. Zero had the ability to charge his buster shot and do other attacks and combinations. He would release the buster shot to extend his combos! My question is, can Greninja do the same? It would flesh out and make this character crazy interesting! I can already imagine the possibilities this would open! Tuesday 4/15 Is this... a Final Destination variation of Gerudo Valley? And the battle theme is this? BEST STAGE EVAR!!! You can also see the fortress in the left mountains! Let me elaborate more on the picture. Most stages will have a "Final Destination" Variation. Which is cool I guess, FD isn't my favorite stage, way too many exploits that can be done on this stage. Also I think Pit, Megaman, and Falco (if he returns) are hella powerful on this stage. I personally prefer Battlefield and Norfair. I also love the Boxing Ring, it looks great for Competitive play! Sakurai also mentions how some FD stages will either be on top of something, or floating in mid-air. This stage appears to be on top of a Plateau. These minor stage elements actually can strongly influence high level competitive play. There are a ton of characters that can use the sides of the mountains to recover to the stage in some... weird gimmicky ways... I never bothered to learn any of these techniques... but whatever, I ain't destined for EVO or anything like that... Next picture! Wednesday 3/16 This picture is... odd... It is a picture of Zero Suit Samus and Wii Fit Trainer doing a flip animation. this shows us 2 things... 1. We see an Image of the background of the Wii Fit Gymnasium stage. We don't have too many details on what the background does or how it impacts the fight. 2. Zero Suit is actually performing her down B move. It now has a cool new added effect where it leaves an after image of her as she is flipping. We see another example of it here... Its nothing Major, but a cool added effect to one of Zero Suits most useful and underrated moves! Thursday 4/17 A picture of Donkey Kong getting his power ups stolen by Kirby villain Tac. This is in the 3DS exclusive mode, Smash Run! This mode actually looks like a lot of fun for "I'm bored and have nothing better to do" or "waiting in line to get movie tickets" type of Game Mode. I like it, hope we don't see too many picture of it in our Weekly Screenshots... but we probably will... Friday 4/18 This one is... kinda weird... Allow me to explain. "The 3DS version of the game will roughly have the same Assist Trophies and Pokemon as the Wii U version. Just Roughly..." Roughly? My only comment on this is that the 3DS is not as powerful as the Wii U and may not be able to run or even have certain assist trophies or pokemon the Wii U has... so this makes sense, good that he covered it... I guess... this statement is so vague...
  2. Mustache increases attack speed, movement speed, and sex appeal
  3. I like the look on tink's cat's face
  4. Brawl had a mechanic like that for the Pokemon trainer. Hopefully they removed it in smash 4. In brawl Squirtle would take extra damage from electric attacks. Ivysaur would take extra damage from fire. And Charzard would take extra damage from water. They removed the mechanic in Project M. I would only not mind it if they gave it a double standard. Ie electric attacks don't hurt Pikachu as much but ground attacks do. Then again... If they added Isaac to the game that match up would be 10:0 Pikachu wouldn't even scratch Isaac.
  5. I wouldn't compare Greninja too much to Lucario
  6. I saw this, actually, the main focus of this thread is for me to go over the weekly pics that go up, I kinda slacked last week because of the direct. I have a couple concerns with the move. One being the charging. Can you visually see that he is charging it?
  7. It looks like a back air or forward air, however... We already know what those are! So I assume that attack is part of the teleport. I don't think the teleport can be used for movement, but as a counter attack. I think Greninja will be using his up special for movement much like how Pikachu and Lucario did.
  8. Lemme ask you a question then. What attack do you think he is doing after his side B teleport?
  9. His Side b and down b teleport. I might be wrong. But it looks like that he is forced to do the same attack with both teleporting moves, similar to Metaknight's down b and Shiek and Zelda's up B The only moves we haven't seen are his down, front, and back throws, his nair or neutral air, and his up air. Gninja's teleports look like they are more for counter attacking than movement
  10. He only has 1 teleportation move and it only goes sideways. I am not saying that it won't be good, but it is still a poke, he does the same attack with every teleport, kinda like Metaknight. Or cough cough strider Hariuyu cough cough Also, 3 chain combo idea... Throw a fully charged water shuriken, run up to the opponent, grab them, twist them once or twice, throw them, follow up with an forward air
  11. ^not sure whether to trust that or not
  12. He will by short hopping a lot. Ie being in the air, but low to the ground.
  13. He isn't Air oriented, just good in the air, Villager looks powerful in the air too
  14. I think of Greninja being like Shiek, the biggest difference being that Shiek is more of a traditional ninja, while Greninja is more anime/fantasy oriented. Greninja focuses on poking the opponent and being annoying. Also, every time Greninja attacks a baby unicorn farts sunshine. He is full of flair and style. Shiek on the other hand is more based around infighting. She will run in, beat the shit out of you in a cool flashy way, and run back out. Shiek shows her flair by doing flashy combos and mind gamesy set ups, Greninja gets flair by simply moving. I also noticed that Greninja cannot chain more than 2 attacks together...
  15. Meta knight doesn't need the the boot, he needs ridelin or however you spell it. I have 2 problems with him. 1. He wins EVERY ATTACK COLLISION! Whether it's shiek's pencil thin arms or DK's massive biceps, Metaknight's sword always wins! It's bullshit! 2. Metaknight never... Ever... Has an opening... My main gameplay is to wait or make an opening in my opponent's defense and take advantage of it to its fullest... High level meta knights never... Ever... Have an opening... Ever!
  16. Fighting Greninja or any aerial dominant character with Lil' Mac will be challenging... He does have that Diangonal smash attack that seems to be a decent anti air... I will probably switch to Samus, Shiek, or Bowser if I get matched up against a Greninja.
  17. Oh in p4a I main Akihiko and Yosuke, and in smash 4 I intend to main Fox, Lil' Mac, Samus, Bowser, and Sheik My aerodactyl nick name is Kravitz, I don't know mf doom, but my nickname for Noivern is Deltron, which is a hip hop referance too
  18. Psn: DominusWolf I play almost every fighting game, right now my BB main is Ragna because I am lame, but I really enjoy Hazama, Azreal, and Relius Oh and your team! It looks good! Seems like straight forward offensive, not so gimmicky. I love the nicknames, I do similar things... My league team is King, Zagan, Maelstrom, Solitude, Oni, and McGrath
  19. I was personally thinking that it would make more sense if we got 3 fe reps, Marth, Ike, and Robin, aka the Tactician! Marth and Ike will have to have alternate skins to make them look like Chrom and Lucina. So far we only have 2 alt skins confirmed, which are for lil Mac and wii fit trainer. Also trust me, we talked about Chrom here, we have tons of Fire Emblem fans here! Last year out forums were like "forget Pokemon! How far are you in Awakening!?!"
  20. If sakurai were to try and keep the roster the same size as brawl, he would have to cut characters to make room for the newcomers, so far we have 6, I am expecting at least 4 more. Pop quiz! Who gets the hammer? Pick 10 of the following to get replaced that you don't like! Not 1, not 2, ten! Don't pansy out half way! Wario Gannondorf Metaknight Falco Wolf Squirtle Ivysaur Jigglypuff Ice Climbers R.O.B. Captain Falcon Ness Lucas Ike Mr. Game and Watch Snake Also keep in mind, the 35 character comment was made before development even started! I read that article

  23. I think it is time I cover everyone's favorite Goverment Spy Toad/Yakuza Frog, Greninja... Look at that epic artwork by Ken Sugaromi! I am going over how this character will play and what his moveset will potentially be. Greninja is the Water Starter of gen 6 who is based off of the poison dart frog, with some influence from Government Spies, Japanese Gangs, and of course, Ninjas! In fighting games you have 3 arctypes; Speed, Power, and Range. Greninja is 80% Speed and 20% Range, he fights with Mix-Up Teleports and basic zoning with his Water Shurikens. Lets talk about how he actually looks in game and not on paper... I do really like Greninja's neutral stance, it is very true to the source material! Here is the Gninja's Rapid Fire A or Neutral A attack. It slashes the opponent up with Water blades and finishes them off with a quick slash finisher. I am assuming that is his Side Tilt, or Soft Side A. This is a basic side kick. Greninja's Side Smash or Hard Forward! It pulls out a water sword and slices up the opponent in a quick strike. This doesn't look like it has much kill potential, but it IS fast! Greninja's up Tilt or soft Up-A! This attack is pretty unique, Gninja hits the opponent with his tongue scarf, the opponent is then juggled with a fixed height! This allows Gninja to follow up with a short combo! Though, the opponent might be able to control what direction they bounce in... Greninja's Up Smash or Strong Up-A is this dual blade water sword! It looks hella cool, but looks like it has a very fixed range. In this Scene, Gninja is using the attack to punish a mistake Fox has made. I can also see Gninja using this attack to assassinate people from underneath platforms... like a true ninja! Next is this very "Scorpion/Sub-Zero"-ish slide. Not sure if this is a down tilt or a down smash. I think it might be a tilt, and a damn good move to have... if it is a smash... this move... might be hella good >> I lost the picture of Greninja's running attack, but it is a simple two open palm strike. Looks simple and straight forward with nothing special surrounding it This picture is of Greninja's Grab. He traps them in a whirlpool and inflicts pain on the opponent by pressing A. His Up Throw looks like a simple toss! At lower percentages, Gninja can jump in the air and pursue his foes! I believe that this is Greninja's Forward Air. It is a quick, painful looking water sword attack! Looks great for catching airborne opponents. I get the feeling that Greninja will shine in combat the most when it is airborne! This is Greninja's Down Air! It looks like a quick divekick or.. stomp... downward hitting foes below it! When the Opponent is on the ground, it will Pop them and Greninja up at a fixed height, allowing Gninja to pursue his victim with a follow up attack! Greninja's Back Air is a rapid strike kick combination! I am not sure how much good this attack will do for the toad. I personally prefer a good hard Back Air, like majority of the roster has... Next is Greninja's Neutral special or B, his signature Water Shurikens! Uncharged it is great for poking your foe and keeping them at a distance! You will want to keep your distance as much as possible when Fighting characters like Bowser, Donkey Kong, or Charizard! Side Note: If Kirby eats you, he will get this attack... You can also charge the Water Shurikens to have some some Naruto type of effects. Take note of where Bowser is standing at this given moment as he is Back Throwing Megaman... Bowser is hit... and keeps get hit over and over and over... and over.... The attack actually keeps Bowser busy for quite a long time, the shuriken eventually evaporated when it hit the ring ropes. While the shuriken and the rope bouncing was keeping Bowser busy, Gninja had the opportunity to jump up into the air and start harassing Megaman with more shurikens! This terrifies me since I will most likely be playing this game competitively, and the very thought of the options Greninja has with this move is... **cringes** In this picture, The Wii Fit Trainer is using his Neutral special on Greninja. Greninja skillfully dodges it with his Side Special! Greninja disappears in a cloud of Vapor and reappears behind the opponent kicking them away from him! This attack looks insanely powerful! However... how easy will it be to land? it looks like it might either have a tracking system or a fixed length... Greninja's Down Special is a counter attack! It leaves a Substitute doll behind when he gets hit! Greninja will then follow up with a counter attack! ... I SAID GRENINJA WILL FOLLOW UP WITH A COUNTER ATTACK!!! ... Eventually? JFDALJFDKLAJKL;DFJAKLF FINALLY!!! I am sorry people... Don't trust this move... It kinda sucks... The counter leaves Gninja vulnerable and easy to get countered himself.... just look at all of the freedom Mario has since Greninja got stroke.... Greninja's Up Special or Recovery looks like Aqua Jet! Greninja propels itself throughout the air using aqua jets, simular to Pikachu's Quick Attack Recovery! I wonder if this can be used as an attack, or a psuedo wave dash! Some fun little Water Ninja Frog taunt things... Last up is Greninja's Final Smash! I get some hard core Chip Zanuff vibes from it, which is ironic, that is what I named my Greninja in game XD It looks like a Cinematic finisher, simular to Captain Falcon's in Brawl. So you have to land a single attack and get an Instant KO! And yes, this is a Final Smash, Greninja is glowing orange in this Scene. And thats everything shown for Greninja, I might finish up and complete the rest of the Newcomers next time!
