I knew that. Also charizard is the same height as him and Dedede is the same height as Toon Link. And mael, you are the same heigh as Mac, but twice his weight.

Despite that I won't be free the entire weekend. I don't have work. Just errand flavored things. I plan on hosting multiple tournaments.

I updated the OP a bit, as for stock and time, I was thinking of holding some mini single elimination tournaments this weekend with different rulesets ranging from hardcore to casual game types. Anyone down?

On an unrelated note, I fought a Toon Link player that was doing something cool that I want to share. His bombs have a weird explosion animation where they leave these very cartoony Smoke trails. This Toon Link player was throwing bombs at where he wanted to be and stand behind the smoke so I couldn't see him. He wasn't doing this to hide himself, he was doing this to Mask his attacks. Is he doing an up smash? Is he charging an arrow? Or is he just standing completely still waiting for me to approach him? Hell if I know... but nether the less, it was really cool. Have you guys faced any other players that did something cool like that? Couple things I did yesterday that caught me off guard... As Lil' Mac I threw my KO punch at my opponent, and it landed! I was so hyped... then I found out that I was playing Alph (aka Olimar Alt) and I had only hit one of his Pikmin... Yoshi's Forward smash apparently can dodge incoming attacks... When Yoshi performs his side smash he leans back and smacks the opponent with his head. I was fighting a Robin player and she shot a massive thunder ball thing at me as I got close to her and started releasing my side smash... to my surprised when I was doing my side smash Yoshi completely dodged the thunder during his "leaning back" animation and KO'd the hell out of Robin... Yoshi confirmed for Neo... #Everything and Anything can be a Lie #Matrix Dodge -
Regarding the Tekken character thing, like I said, we will get pokemon who fight like past Tekken characters. Then again, there is a Tekken character for every martial art.

Try toying with different attacks that your character has. Or go into training mode and mess around with your attacks. Try to learn how they launch the opponent. And mess with the percentage and alternate between having your training dummy, my favorite is mario, stand and jump. Some attacks gain new properties when your opponent's percentage is high. Also remember, your knock back gets higher and higher as your percentage goes up. -
5 sounds too short, 7 sounds like plenty. It also gives time for the judge to KO himself and set up the match.

I have been planning on throwing some smash tournaments for a REALLY long time now. As of right now, I am waiting for people to get their hands with the game, Discover what they like, and for myself to develop a decent rule set. Here are a few ideas I have for a proper Tournament. 1. 2 Stock 7 Minutes, 1v1, Double Elimination and of course all Items will be turned off. If the game does go to time, the player with the highest damage percent and lowest stock count is declared the loser. Sudden Death is too random and doesn't say crap about the skill of the players. All Matches will be held best 2 out of 3, including the finals. Though the winner of the Losers bracket will have to defeat the final challenger in two sets of matches. [updated] 2. All matches are encouraged to be recorded. That way if there are any disbutes, the replays can be sent to a judge to clarify the results. 3. The participates in the tournament may have to play a couple "Qualification Matches" with a judge or two before signing up for the tournament. The Matches aren't to test the player's skill, but to test the player's connection. If the player is deemed to not have a good internet connection, they cannot sign up for the tournament. 4. The Match will start with a selection of "starter stages" in which the players can either agree on, or pick via striking method. The Striking Method is where each player takes turns selecting a stage that they do not want to play on. Ie. Player One bans stage 2, Player Two bans stage 3, P1 bans 1, P2 bans 5, so in result you play on stage 4. After a Match ends the Winning Player can select a new character for the next match, but they must pick first and tell their opponent who they are choosing, the losing player can select whom they will be playing right after. The winning player can pick a stage that they can ban for the set of matches that the players are playing. The losing player will have the choice out of the remainder Starter and Counterpick stages. The same stage cannot be played on twice in the same set. Wii U Starter: Battlefield Final Destination Smashville Counter Pick: Delfino Plaza Duck Hunt Halbred Lylas Cruise Town and City 3DS Starter: Final Destination Battlefield Yoshi's Island Counter Pick: Prism Tower Arena Ferox Duck Hunt If the Losing Player chooses to play on Final Destination, they may choose which form of Final Destination they wish to play on. This may be benificial to select characters that they may be using. If the Losing player wins the match. The process above will be repeated but slightly reiterated. The stage that was banned during the previous match will still be banned. So when this match starts, there will be 2 banned stages. 5. Special rules maybe added in time. The only special rules I can think of are... A. Custom Movesets are banned in standard rules, but I am not against the Idea of having Custom Moveset Tournaments. - In Custom Move Tournaments, all Equipment is Banned. - If Custom Rules are allowed, the user must use one of the competitve movesets designed by the competitve smash community. Click here to learn more: http://smashboards.com/threads/official-custom-moveset-project-summer-2015-edition-evo-sets.395721/ B. If Ganondorf or Bowser use their Side B to kill both their opponent and themselves simultaneously, they are declared the winner despite what the Victory Screen says. This technique is known as a Bowsercide or Ganoncide. If any other character does a similar trick, such as Kirby, Donkey Kong, Dedede, or Wario, the match will go to whoever the Victory screen Claims to be the winner. C. Any Player accused of excessive or unnecessary stalling will be Disqualified from the tournament. D. If a player Disconnects from a fight, they will get one "redo" but if a player disconnects more than once. They will be Disqualified. E. Mii's are banned outside of custom rulesets. So in standard rulesets they are banned completely due to their random attributes and movepools. Reborn Rules apply here just like how they do on the server and forums. If any Miis are distasteful, the owner will be disqualified. F. ROB gains stored power for his laser as players are KO'd. He will gain power as the judge KO's their Jigglypuff. While the Jigglypuff is shielding to burn their last stock, any ROB players have to turn around and shoopdawhoop off stage. This keeps ROB from having an unfair advantage. G. Infinite Combos are banned, but Chain Grabs are limited to only three repetitions. Current characters with those abilities King Dedede Link Mega Man Peach Ryu Shiek Anything you guys want to add? Post it below!

One piece of advice when fighting Greninja. Watch his shadow, if he has more than one, he is up to something. -

Purple, blue, and green. Avoid yellow. In my personal experiences, I found that everyone has their own way of dealing with projectile spam. If I was Shulk, I would pick blue or purple and short hop over the shurikents and nair or fair the opponent. It would put Greninja at a bit of a disadvantage. Greninja also has crappy range so take advantage of it. If he has you at high percentages and is trying to kill you, use your green stance. It makes recovery rediculously easy. And if he is on the ropes and at kill percent, switch to red and finish him off. -

Mael, Fite scrub. Also I discovered some tech for all of my mains and wanna test it on someone later. Another not on Robin's Levin Sword. It disappears after 8-9 seconds of unusage. And every thing Levin Sword Flavored kills anyone above 100%. That is not counting the reduced knock back caused by the Arc Spells. It also got legit confirmed that the wii u version is officially releasing November 21st. Set 2 of the amiibos come out December and feature Zelda, Diddy, Luigi, Lil' Mac, Captain Falcon and pit. -

As I keep saying, you gotta play it smart. I have destroyed many bowsers. As for lil Mac. I am a bit mixed on him. To further touch on the Levin Sword thing, Robin puts it away when he casts spells as well. Bowser can deal with basic Projectile spam, but heavy intelligent projectile spam completely screws with him. I have wrecked tons of Bowsers with Robin, Samus, and Megaman. As for everyone else. Most of bowser's attacks have a long cool down rate of recovery time. And if you are patient, he will creat tons of openings. lol Mac can't recover for shit and can get stage gimped really easily. Lil Mac players are also super cautious and contantly try to play it safe.. Be clever and fuck with the player's head a bit. I am a bit weird because when I play Mac I jump... Like a lot.... And it works XD -

Odd, maybe I need to change up my style with him. Because I pull it out to have it out, Then when I stun people and try to smash attack them, I get the Bronze Sword... despite only using the Levin sword once. edit: just tested it, The Levin sword disappears when you cast a spell. Okay, now I know, it doesn't disappear, it just unequips. -

No, it disappears and I get stuck smashing with the Bronze sword, it pisses me off. I like to Arc Thunder or Arc Fire and Levin sword or Nosferatu when they are locked in place. Maybe it is a timed thingmajig. As for charizard's Flare Blitz. Only use it when the opponent is wide open, If the opponent is trying to recover or do something questionable, I prefer using Rock smash.... though the circle pad will confuse my down b for a side B sometimes... yaaaaa I hate that.... -

Palutena isn't that hard to fight. You can run through the barrier no problem or trick her into pulling it out. Her up smash is really easy to avoid too. As for shulk. My best advice is learn what his Monado Arts do and learn how to use them properly. All 5 are really good. -

Greninja's Shadow Sneak is fun to play with. He also sounds a lot like a Digimon XD As for Fox, I think I will enjoy him more on the Wii U version or on the New 3DS because I need a C-Stck to play him properly, I might enjoy Robin more with a Gamecube Controller as well. I keep accidentally putting away the Levin Sword. I love Arc Thunder and Arc Fire. They allow Combos and Frame traps that are awesome and set up easy kills. I also have been wrecking a ton of people with Charizard and Greninja, they are so damn good >> Also, isn't that Lucina skin based off of Cherche? I think it is awesome how all the different Lucina recolors are based off of different FE:A girls -

Now that the game is out, who have you been playing? Who is your favorite? I am having trouble picking a main and here are some of my favs... Characters I am really good at... Fox Shiek Lil' Mac Yoshi Bowser Robin Sonic Megaman Samus Charizard Lucario Greninja And a list of characters I sometimes use that I am decent with... Mario Dr. Mario Rosalina Donkey Kong Ike Lucina Duck Hunt Dog Shulk Ness Pac-Man Link Pikachu Olimar Wii Fit Trainer I totally get why Japan thinks Yoshi is top tier, he is the best at approaching people when he is trying to rush people down. I am also getting pretty decent with lil' mac. I am actually a bit shocked by how much I am enjoying Lucario, Charizard, Greninja, and Sonic. They are fan-fucking-tastic and hella good characters. I love playing Robin, but he/she is a bit Hit and Miss for me. Some characters he absolutely destroys like DK and Bowser, and some he is Okay against. Fox feels good, but Shiek, Samus, and Bowser are all absurdly good. I also still enjoy Megaman Surprisingly. As for the remaining Roster, I rather Enjoy Ness, Pikachu, Rosalina, and Shulk all hella fun. But I am not as confident in my skills with them nor enjoy them as much as the previously mentioned characters. I can see myself growing crazy good at some these characters with enough Practice. I can see myself Maining Sonic, Shiek, Lil' Mac, Lucario, Charizard, Samus, Bowser, and Yoshi.
