Okay so I'm going to just cover the really sparse basics. New York Islanders traded prospect defenseman Griffin Reinhart to the Edmonton Oilers for the 16th overall pick in the draft, which they turned into Centerman Mathew Barzal of the Seattle Thunderbirds (Woot Woot player from my local WHL team). The Oilers also got Goalie Cam Talbot from the Rangers for picks, the Oilers also picked up Eric Gryba formally of the Ottawa Senators. The Rangers also dealt with the Anaheim Ducks to get Emerson Etem and a 2nd round pick for Carl Hagelin. The Ducks also traded Kyle Palmeri to the New Jersey Devils for picks. The Carolina Hurricane traded a pick for Eddie Lack formally of the Vancover Canucks. Not to be out done, the Buffalo Sabres who drafted Jack Eichel, traded for Robin Lehner, and David Legwand from Ottawa, and obtained Jaime McGinn and Ryan O'Reilly from the Colorado Avalanche for picks, Nikita Zadorov, Mikheal Grigarenko and J.T Campher.
Now on to the historic news, in the 6th round the New York Islanders selected Andong Song the first Chinese player to be drafted into the NHL.
