  1. Ludicolo solo'd Groudon. 9 levels behind, no potions(groundon healed though). And here I thought Ludi was just good for Hm stuff, but no, the guy has proved himself to be quite the player this playthrough.  I fully respect the colo now.

Part of it has to do with being able to take advantage of fields. he's probably not as good in the official games but his field game in Reborn-esque games is pretty solid.

  2. luna wasn't hard, but Reborn was being really annoying fighting her RNG wise. I once got down to umbreon and it survived an x-scissor that previously brought it from full to yellow, then kept spamming moonlight and became Jesus, that mess SUCKED. Absol went down instantly to leavanny, but honchkrow was her biggest threat as brave bird one-shot everything except gogoat who it brought to red and tangrowth on a bad roll. I had about 2 attempts where it got out of hand with moxie and just steamrolled the team so I ended up having to send out gogoat to get hit(use milk drink same turn so it could fight later), switch it out to tangrowth so the recoil would bring honchknrow low enough for leavanny to finish off.  Bisharp was...a pushover actually, as it kept spamming knock off which allowed gogoat to stack bulk ups while drinking milk. However it DID paralyze her with thunder wave, which while useful against umbreon since toxic won't work it screwed me over later against weavile who *happened* to land a critical poison jab on a turn following paralysis. Weavile had 1Hp too so it felt like the game was seriously BSing me at that point.  The paralysis was one thing, but the critical right after, when it was needed most? Timing couldn't be worse. Ludicolo softened up tyranitar enough for leavanny to get a fell sting and OHKO umbreon, winning the match. This felt like a match that wasn't really hard(once I figured how to handle honch), but bad rolls and pokemon's obnoxious critical mechanics made it a bit frustrating.

  3. Mad salty I lost to Bennet at Iolia valley and have to walk all the way from lapis ward.  Still one of my least favorite maps in the game.

And then Luna being like, the worst gym battle in the game doesn't do it any favors either.  After beating her I realized there was a heal shard outside her room I missed the first time. Goddangit lol.

I feel like Luna could have had a stronger team, because, like, dark types, ya know?

She's easier than flobot I swear. 3 of her pokemon have a double weakness to fighting, one is made of tissue(Absol) and her field is boring and too honest(all it does is seemingly increase her damage? that's it?) . Jubjub bird is probably her most threatening pokemon and Umbreon can take hits but doesn't hit back all that hard.

I imagine if gen 8 pokemon were ever added she'd have Grimmsnarl but I feel like her field needs a rework. It's a pretty basic field for that point of the game, especially coming off Radomus' field which was mad creative even if he's one of the easier leaders. And while the circus field is *annoying* I respect the creativity and how Samson takes advanatge of it. But luna's feels like it does the bare minumum in a game with a lot of creativity in how the leaders utilize their fields.

  4. Make My Story >>>>> Odd Future

Finally a MHA OP I actually like.

    1. Wolfox

      Wolfox

personally like Odd Future a bit better, but I've only listened to Make MyStory once thus far

    2. Azeria

      Azeria

Animation is good, just not a fan of the song tbh. Just feels kinda..lifeless?

Maybe I'll warm up to it.

    3. Wolfox

      Wolfox

imo The day is the best intro for MHA we've gotten

  5. Man episode 18 is craaaazy so far. That "one" fight was brutal, I was getting super salty about it too lol. I almost won once but didn't realize I still had a pokemon left, earthquake'd my volcarona and proceeded to die to the last pokemon. UGH. Oddly enough the last fight actually glitched out on me(I believe psychic terrain had something to do with it). But at that point I just wanted to get it over with lol, which was easy since the AI wasn't doing anything.

I did kind of see this happening though, in regards to a particular somebody. But yeah some pretty interesting stuff is happening.

  6. Me struggling against Amber until I realize bounce changes the field into sky field

Also noooo why is Venam's mom no longer at the party? Her super fast dancing was hilarious.

  7. Mineta is the worst character in the MHA class.

    However, I disagree.

  8. Nightmare city freakin sucks now. wtf  Easily my least favorite change in 13 so far. Well that and Dusknoir maze.

Editing this because I came off as WAY too salty before. But I still gotta say the casino paywall kinda sucks and I really dislike having our first exposure to the UBs and Johto beasts through this segment.

  9. NOOO glitchcity got hacked!! She made a vid here explaining what happened. Screw the jerks that did this.

  10. Oh wow,

    Spoiler

    Gardevoir

got nerfed  in V13(on normal at least). I'm not sure how I feel about it because while the original fight was *extremely* difficult and frustrating, it's kind of lost what made it memorable and stand out? It doesn't feel that much different from  previous rift fights now(it's become yet another big damage  bruiser behind shields fight) and its ability is at odds with the shield system somewhat, since it only benefits once all the shields are down. I feel like maybe every rift fight shouldn't use the shield system. I know some didn't like the minions but removing them in favor of shields has sort of removed the need for strategies and threat management to circumvent that disadvantage. Some rifts like ferrothorn work with the shield system, but Gardevoir/Carnivine/Galvantula worked better without it.

  11. Okay Charlotte I handled pretty well this time. Only took two tries, and first time we got screwed over by a burn from heat wave, Team was quilfish, camerupt, kecleon, sudowoodo, scrafty and donphan. Had quilfish set rain immediately and once kecleon was able to fire off trick room, Sudowoodo went to town. Didn't even have to use donphan.

    1. Dark Legend

      Dark Legend

I've always found Charlotte as the easiest of the gyms. Just my opinion?

  12. Okay first fight with taka was easy, as roselia just swept his entire team. Set up 3 growths and even tangrowth was able to be 2-shot.

I never knew there was an egg right after taka, first playthrough I actually picked it up!...and it's friggin stantler lol. Nah.

  13. Okay so I fought ciel. And...I won. like really easily. In fact it was probably the easiest  gym battle since flobot.

I taught trevenant trick room, and grinded up an abamasnow I caught a while back, and WOW, abamasnow is a monster in trick room.

For togekiss I had roserade use two venoshocks which KO'd it, as she was able to take one air slash, if barely.

Oricorio was next, and this next move was crucial. Trevenant barely survived an air slash to pull of trick room, and then sacrificed herself via destiny bond to take down ori. Hard part over with.

Abamasnow takes center stage now and steals the show. Mine had like 2 iVs in special attack and a -spd + special defense nature so I EV'd it to ensure blizzard actually kills. minior, gliscor, noivern all fall like dominoes and megataria barely survives, no doubt due to the poor IVs. The nature actually ends up being a good thing as abamasnow survives with 3 HP and finishes her with ice shard.

You'd expect the flying leader to be the hardest of the circus trio, but she ironically was  the easiest.

    1. Azeria

      Azeria

you didn't just throw lilligant at her and insta win?

      nice.

  14. Okay this regional Marill line for pokemon infinity is pretty cool. Rock/fighting with pure power? Sick.

      But here is my Team:

Ooof jelly you were able to get the dragon eeveelution already. Mine is still an eevee in the box.

Also despite what I said earlier I ended up getting Tangrowth lol.  It's funny because I clearly remember that Tagrowth/tangela being posted on Reddit some while back by an artist who I want to believe was one of the devs on the game in retrospect. In fact I think I commented on how its design was great but I felt like its stat changes were a bit awkward...which they still kinda are lol. Satwise it's worse than vanilla Tangrowth. Like sure it's a lot faster but at the loss of bulk and power, I don't feel it was worth it.

    4. Dark Legend

      Dark Legend

I should stop doing Nuzlockes; I always lose. Poor me and Pokemon Infinity.

  15. One of the best things about pokemon is using a pokemon you never gave much thought to before and finding a new appreciation for it when you discover its potential and how useful it can be. Sudowoodo and Kecleon are putting in work this playthrough. Sudowoodo's sturdy + counter is great for cheap KOs and Kecleon with protean is not only sneaky, but it's a great compliment to my slow team since it learns trick room. Both were key in beating Samson who took only 2 tries. I added Quilfish as well who not only gets intimidate and can set hazards, but d-bond too? Nifty pokemon.

  16. Only took two tries to beat arceus this time, roserade landed the final blow after getting a lucky judgement that ended up being grass or water.  She was in the red and my last pokemon, so it was a cool finish.

Radomus actually gave a bit of trouble for once, as his reuniclus is quite bulky and if he pulled off trick room it made his slowking a threat. Plus I roserade isn't much good this fight so my strongest pokemon wasn't an option. I had to switch out jumpluff for gogoat, which was a smart choice as gogoat could stack bulk ups and tank metagross/gallade's attacks. It's a good thing I got shiftry back to level, as he was excellent in this fight with fake out and faint attack, both of which get buffed on the field. Gardevoir went down in one turn to a fake out and +2 leaf blade from gogoat.  It took about 4 attempts.

  17. Oricorio Baille makes Bennet's 1st match absolutely free.

    Venomoth used quiver dance?

    -smirks devilishly-

  18. Puppetmaster down! Aelita, girl, when megamedicham is on the field and your blaziken can OHKO it, DON'T AIM FOR MUSHARNA WITH A WEAK SHADOW CLAW INSTEAD lol. This happened twice and screwed us over the first time. An easier gym leader compared to the ones before. psychic bankuru or whatever hurts though lol.

Also does anyone else read Puppetmaster's dialogue in their head as the Joker's voice?

  19. Remember guys: don't support nazi sympathizing websites.

      BIGJRA

      what did they do???

    2. Okami

      Okami

So if I'm getting this right, a writer associated myanimelist with posted a countdown list on their forum about "Kicking Nazi Ass" as it was called but some admins/editors got rid of it because it was too political?

    3. Alex

      Alex

so they're just keeping the site about anime and they are not actually nazi sympathisers and you're finding one action to call them that.

      nice job there.

  20. Ryland defeated! I didn't struggle quite as hard against him like I did last time I played though he did force me to change up my teammates a bit. Excadrill is never easy to deal with and his Claydol + Torterra are quite tough to take down. Weirdly his AI was tripping against cinderace and would keep using ground attacks despite libero changing her type to flying. It was kinda odd but I'm not complaining since it allowed me to get claydol out of the way earlier which made the battle much more manageable.

Isha's gen 8 additions are super fitting for his team, and the Rose battle remix really fits his fight.  Definitely lets you know you're dealing with a madman.

  21. Saw Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Really enjoyed, most fun I've had with a movie in a long time.

    Whiskey was badass.

  22. Screw Valerie's fat milotic. I get her down to just it and it proceeds to sweep 5 of my team.

Then i realized togedamaru outspeeds it even on the water field. Two zing zaps is all it took to KO it, and with sturdy it's a guarantee.

But I didn't know that at first so I wasted a turn using nuzzle then zing zapped it and had to rely on Primarina and vileplume to finish her off.

Funnily enough her Primarina wasn't even a big deal. It's Milotic and Floatzel that are PITAs, Miltoic due to its monsterous special bulk and floatzel due to being the Flash on water and its waterfall hitting pretty hard due to the rain/field boost.

      whoops wrong person, ignore

  23. So like I was having a bit of a hard time with fern/blake, and after 3 attempts I went back and switched shiftry for leavanny, whom I lead with. It made a big difference as I was able to finally beat them, and funnily enough solaris/orderly took only one attempt and felt much easier. Julia put in a lot of work this time.

But alas....it's time for ciel. RIP.

  24. Souta defeated! I was having trouble at first because despite having multiple strats ready for him,I couldn't get them to work! I wanted to try using court change to give me his tailwind, but cinderace dies to everything on his team in one hit. I wanted to change the wweather, but the field doesn't let you? Kinda lame but whatever. I wanted to change the field, but it takes two smack downs and only one heavenly wings for souta to change it back. So eh.

I was going to purify my solosis and raise it up to get trick room but I don't know to purify pokemon at this point, if I even can. So I went through my box and remembered Mawile! Of course! Mawile's intimidate should allow Cinderace to survive sky attack and court change! Even better, while training mawile I found a talonflame! adamant with gale wings? PERFECT.

I settled on using Mawile, Cinderace, Jolteon, Obstagoon, Talonflame and Mr. Rime. Skarmory leading with stealth rocks made the fight even easier since court change would not only get me a tailwind but set rocks up too. Once my first tailwind ran out I had talonflame set up another so Jolteon could continue to tear through his pokemon. Mawile + Talonflame were able to handle dragonite. Mr. Rime didn't even have to fight, the winning attempt went super well.

  25. Started up a new playthrough of Reborn after not playing for like a year only to find myself struggling against Julia lol. Between the retries and grinding it took me nearly an hour. Thankfully Flobot I got first try, Dartrix runs half of her squad for free. But yeah Juilia gave me a lot more trouble than I remember.
