Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]

Shiro nodded. There really wasn't much more he could do at that point. He felt dizzy and sick, and wouldn't speak anything from the fear that opening his mouth would mean throwing up once again. He would let himself be taken to whatever place Robert found most appropriate. -------meanwhile, outside of the arena-------- "Ack, those battles were all uninteresting!" Anna stretched herself. Sitting down on those chairs in the arena really worned her out. She was followed by a bouncing silhuette, a Lopunny, who stood behind her trainer, sniffing through the air as if looking for something. Anna seemed to have noticed so she turned around. "You're still at it, Cybele? Sheesh, he's fine, you shouldn't worry about it. Besides, he'll get over it once we're back home, you'll see." The bunny frowned and pouted at Anna's words, raising her head up like some classy lady who had just been displeased by whatever. "Huh, suit yourself." Anna turned back around and continued on the trail. The whole place seemed surprisingly empty now that most of the students were at the event. And just as she wanted to try out that face-painting stall she heard about... Oh, well. "Say, since you're all that worried about him, why don't we pay him a visit. Does that sound okay to you?"- 1255 replies

Shiro pushed Robert away, angrily shaking his head. Robert's embrace just further hurt him, both physically and mentally... "I-it's fine... I'm fine! I-" The boy's face turned into a frown as his stomach twisted itself upside down. Shiro fell to his feet and crouched, leaning over to the floor as he put one hand over his mouth. What ensued wasn't really pretty...- 1255 replies

@Turbo: Dunno, try telling him °~° He'll prolly be back by the start of the second year, which, I guess, won't be in chapter 4. I want it to at least last 6 months.

"..." Instead of feeling happy for Robert, Shiro's heart cringed as Jet defeated the Meditite. All of the people he knew managed to win... except for him and it was just too much for the boy to handle. He too was surprised at his own feelings at that point. He never thought he'd be capable of such envy and it disgusted him. Shiro leaned against the wall and bit his lip as he stayed silent and waited for Robert to return to the waiting room. He didn't notice anything that was happening around him, as if he were stuck in some invisible bubble that alienated him from the others. In a way, he was. The tension that his appearance imposed was nearly tangible. That dense, heavy sensation loomed around him, creating something akin to a miniature atmosphere of sadness. If he were in a cartoon, he'd have a small cloud above his head, pouring gallons of rain only on his tiny silhuette...- 1255 replies

Shiro felt extremely awkward walking through the academy field like this again... He really didn't belong there anymore... He was too weak, but that just meant he had to get stronger soon, or else... The two reached the stadium, but Shiro didn't want to leave Robert's side. "I-I think I'll go with you for now..." He only really came there to watch Robert's match. He was surely gonna win, because he was strong. Stronger than Shiro could ever be... With a heavy weight on top of his heart, Shiro went with Robert to the waiting room... Hopefully Nadia wouldn't be there...- 1255 replies

"Oh... that's right, you still have your battle to do..." Shiro looked down as he spoke. "T-then we should hurry back! What if you miss your battle, that'd be really bad! So let's go to the arena and then we'll go look around the festival for something to do, okay? I'll be fine, so don't worry..." He didn't look fine though. Going back to the arena, no, going back among all those people who saw what happened wasn't really what he wanted to do right then, but for Robert... "U-uhm, let's go."- 1255 replies

"O-okay!" Shiro typed in Robert's phone number and tucked the phone back into his pants. Even though he knew he most likely wasn't gonna be able to contact Robert anyways, he put on a forced smile. "We, we should do that, yeah..." He would respond to Robert's question. He didn't have much to do anyways and there was still time for him to escape later that day. He could also wait for tomorrow, as he was relatively sure Anna wasn't gonna send him home first thing in the morning. She enjoyed watching Pokemon battles, because, as she said, that was the only thing she was better at than Shiro. Anyhow, something occured to Shiro right then. Since Robert gave him something, it was only fair that he gave something to Robert as well. "Just a second!" He would quickly dash into his room, grabbing the odd pocketwatch and handing him over to Robert. "T-this is my gift for you, Robert. S-something to remember me by." He would have waited until Robert accepted it before speaking again. "I-it's special, my uncle, her father... gave it to me. It was made to serve as a Mega Ring... You know, for Mega Evolution... But it's broken now..." Shiro reffered to the round hole that decorated the middle of the strange piece of stone. "I-if you bring it to Professor Redwood, I-I'm sure he'll fix it for you! Maybe you won't be able to use it yet, but still! So... yeah... Something to remember me by..."- 1255 replies

"D-do you want me to take it?" Shiro noticed Robert's hesitation. This was hard on him too, more than Shiro could've ever imagined... Robert truly was his friend and he would've stayed that way no matter the conditions. That's why he brought that phone, so that they could still keep in touch, even from a far. "T-thanks, Robert..."- 1255 replies

"Yeah..." Shiro replied weakly, coming out of his room. This was good. Robert came here on his own, meaning that Shiro could just say goodbye now and drop the letter idea completely. Anyhow, he noticed the package Robert was holding and, since he wanted to, at least, change the subject to something else (because he was feeling really realy really down after the loss), he spoke up with a light smile. "S-so, what's that you got?"- 1255 replies

"..." Shiro cuddled up beneath his blanket the moment he got to his room, hugging the tear-watered pillow tightly on his chest. All of this was just too much to handle! How was he gonna go back home now, after experiencing all these new things? Robert would also miss him... Why did Anna have to come so soon? Just, why couldn't they take over the company? Why couldn't they just make her school herself instead of him? She was the one who screwed up! A bottle of rage just burst out of Shiro all of a sudden, and he violently jumped out of the bed, tossing the blanket along with the pillow on the floor. That's right, he wasn't going to just let her take him... He was gonna stay here, forever! Even if it meant... No, that was no good, she would take him by force... He should just make everything dissapear, if only until the whole situation settles... I-if he runs away right now, perhaps they wouldn't be able to find him! And then, after everyone has already forgotten about the whole situation, he would return and be a hero! Yeah, he should do that. Part of Shiro's brain knew what he was planning was wrong, childish and stupid, but the distressed child always tends to simply surpress that 'voice of reason' ringing deeply inside their minds and go with the easier way, which, at that time, seems like a better idea. That was what happened with Shiro. He wiped his nose with one of his sleeves and sat by the table with a piece of paper and a pencil. He put his three Poke balls (yes, he even out Shun in a Poke ball) by his side, along with the peculiar pocketwatch he pulled out of his pocket. It was a beautiful piece of art, carved from some odd kind of stone which glinted under the faint light emanating from the bulb on the ceiling. Shiro put it down next to the Poke balls after observing it for a while and took a pencil. He wasn't sure what to write, or even if he should write anything. Maybe it was better not to do it... I mean, they would all know something was wrong after seeing the confession, but he still couldn't leave Robert without saying goodbye... 'Dear...' Shiro was interrupted by the sudden click of the front door. "Shiro? You in here? He heard Robert's voice calling out. Wait, Robert was here? Where did he get the key? Without thinking, Shiro grabbed the paper, throwing it into the trash can below the desk. He then opened the door to his room and peeked out. "I-I'm here..." He said, looking down. It wasn't easy looking at Robert right now, in fact, it pained him a litle, knowing he was going to leave him behind today... "H-how did you get the key?"- 1255 replies

Haha, Shiro's gonna be taken away anyways. Punishment is the least of his worries now, he just wants to force them to leave him there. ^^

Welp, it would happen after the meeting, seeing as Kiai picked up Shiro's aura from inside the dorms, so I suppose he'd be able to do that much, at least ~ I gotta know the answer to my previous question before writing the post, though, 'cause it would require me to change my initial idea.

Aww, Henry is so sweet (in his own peculiar way) :3 EDIT: Would there be a way for a student, hypothetically speaking, to get off the Academy grounds?

Nyaaa... hehe, this was unexpected... not even I planned for it to all go to hell that way, hehehe ~

Shiro trembeled as Nadia allowed his Pokemon to recover their footing. However noble that might've appeared, Shiro's heart remained uneasy. He was losing the first actual match! This girl was too much for him to fight against... Sure of herself, strong, passionate... And he was none of that! So how? How could he ever be able to defeat her? His determination hadn't died out completely just yet, though. He could still try, he wasn't out of tricks... But victory seemed more distant than before, escaping further beyond his reach with each new breath he took... "S-shun..." The Kirlia was already on her feet, ready to fight at any cost. Sharph, on the other hand, seemed pretty beat up... He did take that Mirror Shot straight on, along with the Featherdance... "Shun, y-you'll take over for now, is that... I mean, uhm..." She looked at him and nodded, filling his heart with a new glimmer of hope. "I-it's only until Sharph can resume..." *growl* It was Sharph. He stood up next to Shun, looking Shiro straight in the eyes. He wanted to fight too. "A-are you sure? Y-you not..." The dragon nodded. "I-I see... Well, alright... Shun, yo-you strike them with your combo move, a-alright? We know they can c-counter ou, I-I mean... the Shadow Sneak didn't work, s-so!" "You ready kid?" Nadia asked, standing there as an intimidating obstacle in Shiro's way, together with her two Pokemon. They appeared so much stronger than Shiro's team... "Oh, attacking already?" He nodded, frowning a bit. "Sharph, y-you charge up a Hone Claws! G-go!" Shun shot herself like some sort of missile at the opponent, using her Confusion while Sharph stood strong, his claws growing long and shining white. The Kirlia flew, aiming at the Prinplup with her mighty punch... "Too slow!" Nadia screamed as her Klink suddenly emerged between Shun and Prince, blocking her punch. No matter how hard she tried, she could not make the Gear Pokemon budge even a bit. "Vice Grip!" "Shun!" The Klink split into two all of a sudden, leaving Shun frozen in the air for a moment in shock. Shiro's hand flew to his face, guarding his eyes from the sight as the two halves came closer and closer, threatening to trap Shun in their clutch... --- Shun time --- Shun was left frozen in air for a brief moment in shock as the Klink split in half. The force of her own punch pulled her forward and, as she was unable to make a swift turn of any kind, she was easy bait for Klink's metallic teeth. This helplessnes gave birth to a speck of fear, regret, sadness and dissapointment in her heart. She couldn't do anything to save herself and help Shiro... "Shun!" She heard his scream, but it was too late. The Klink already had her... The impact was immediate, almost even painless... She felt it squeeze her tiny waist. The two fell straight down... Klink just wouldn't let go... It wouldn't, until she fainted, of course. She could still hear Nadia's voice as she began to lose conciousness. "I told you these cheap tricks won't work. What kind of strategy this is even? Two Confusions stacked together? Give me a break!" Sharph's roar could be heard afterwards, but it meant no real difference. He wasn't gona win on his own. This was the end. Shiro will be taken home by force straight away tomorrow... There was nothing any of them could do... Perhaps... if only she were stronger! If only she could've become a Gallade! She was worthless this way. A puny, stuck up Kirlia, not good enough at either battles or contests! But, for Shiro, she always tried her best... Shiro... ... ... --- --- Sharphs's efforts were futile. No matter how hard he tried, in the end, without Shiro's commands, he lost against the powerful duo. All that while Shiro sat there, curled up in a ball... Just thinking about everything and crying his eyes out... "Hmpf!" Nadia returned her two Pokemon. The battle was over. "Come on, kid." She walked over to Shiro, lending him a hand, wondering why was he so shook up. "Look, here's your Kirlia. She's only fainted, so don't worry. It's not the end of the world just 'cause you lost, is it? So man up, come, stand up with me. You fought well, contrary to what my insults could've made you believe. Huh?" "it isn't the end of the world..." Shiro stood up suddenly, almost pushing Nadia backwards as he did so. "Is it, right!? Not the end of the world!? Maybe not your world!" He exploded. "Give her back, give her back!" Tears flowing down his face, he grabbed Shun from her embrace. "Hey, what's up with you?" "Shut up! You don't understand! Nobody undrstands! So screw you!" Everything beame a blurr for Shiro, he didn't even notice as he forcefuly pushed Nadia aside, running towards the nearest exit. It was over, over... He didn't care about what happened next, he knew his fate from this point onwards... They were gonna lock him up, seal him away again! He would be homeschooled to become the next big CEO of their frickin' company! And all that because of Anna, that incompetent bitch blew their job after inheriting her father's place in the company! She was the reason behind all of this! She was to blame! Everything he worked for, everything he accomplished in these past few months, everything he could've become! Robert! All dissapeared! All was now... meaningless! What was it all for, if it was going to fade away now into his memory? Mere memory which would fade too through time as his very being would be disassembled and reassembled by his parents in order to fit the role they gave him! No, no, he didn't want that sort of life! He wanted to stay here forever! Forever! With Robert and Shun and even Henry! Everybody hated him, but he still remained somewhat dear in Shiro's heart... Whatever they said about him, he didn't listen. He knew Henry was better than what they said! They were all liars! Just like his parents, and Anna, and Nadia! All of them should just go away! Shiro's throught all rushed through his head at the same time as he ran across the Academy field, towards the dorms. Yes, he wasn't gonna just let them take him away! They can go screw themselves, he is old enough to make his own decisions! --- --- Shiro entered his room... Team Reference:- 1255 replies

"I'll go first!" Nadia smiled, pointing at Shiro and catching him off guard. "Let's beat them quickly, eh Gear?" Her Klink began spinning, psyched up for a fight. "Use Autotomize! And you, Prince, use Agility!" "W-wait! Uhm..." Shiro stared blankly at Nadia's first move. She was serious enough... But Shun was here, and Sharph. They wouldn't let him lose, so he won't! "I-I know! Shun, catch them with Shadow Sneak!" And then Sharph would be able to freely Bulldoze them and trap them in the ruble, so their Speed increase would be meaningless, right? Shun performed her move, enwrapping the whole stadium in a spider web of shadows, which succsfuly surrounded and wrapped the foes in place. Shiro was boggled though as they didn't even try to dodge. And Nadia had a strange smirk on her face. What was up with that? "U-uhm..." No, this wasn't the time to lose focus. Now was his chance, now that both of the opponents were immobilized! "Sharph, Bulldoze them!" The dragon charged at the opponents with a humongous roar. "Ha!" Nadia's laugh interrupted the fight. "Interesting way of using Shadow Sneak, I gotta commend you on that. But..." She smiled. "you underestimate me. These stupid litle tricks of yours won't work on us, right, Gear?" What was she saying? "S-sharph, contin- !" The Klink began to glow, enveloping itself in a sort of a mettalic shine which dispersed the shadows around him. "Haha, Mirror Shot!" A bright burst of light emanated from the Pokemon, covering everything in white, while leaving both Shiro and Shun bewildered. "Prince, Featherdance!" Everything happened too quickly. The bright light was gone as soon as it came, revealing Sharph covered by a vortex of blue feathers. "Huh!?" "Go, Metal Claw!" The penguin hacked through the feathers with its wing, slashing Sharph directly. The attack was deflected by Sharph's heavy hide, though, but the shock still made the young dragon lose its balance. "Huh?" Nadia made a silly face. "Ha, I suppose you're not all talk." She would cross her hands before speaking up again. "Princ, Gear, come here." "Y-you're..." Shiro rubbed his eyes. They still hurt from the Mirror Shot... "Hehe, don't think I'm letting you win. I merely do not like to fight unfairly. Now get yourself up, come on! You can open this round, Coordinator boy."- 1255 replies

"I-it's my turn already?" Shiro squealed. He really wasn't so eager to battle... there was too much at stake. But he had to do it somehow. "Ru." Shun tugged his deep green sweater, telling him in her own way to go get 'em. He nodded. "Alright. I-if you say so, we can do it... I hope." He took a bold step forward and unto the arena... The moment he stepped inside, it was like he threw the base rock of a vocal quarry over... He was welcomed by the sight and cheers of the crowd. Such a huge crowd it was... It wasn't like that during the prelims... His knees began shaking heavily. No, he this wasn't gonna work... He's gonna make some stupid mistake and lose the match. The pressure was getting to him as he glanced around... Anna was among the crowd there somewhere, laughing at him... He was- he "Are you gonna just stand there or what?" An unfamiliar voice snaps him out of it. He was covered in cold sweat, shaking all over. The voice came from the gilr on the other side of the arena. She stood there with her two Pokemon by her side, a Prinplup and a Klink, both ready to fight. Shun has already gone to her position in the field, but the batle could not start without him summoning his second Pokemon. "Hey, we don't have the whole day. See, your Pokemon gets it." She said, leaning her head on her hand. She appeared confident enough to win... "Uh, al-alright." Shiro managed to mutter somehow. He could still feel the pressure, but at least he was back to normal. "I- Go, Sharph!" A small Druddigon appeared from the ball, shaking himself like some sort of a dog before standing next to Shun. "That's better." Nadia grinned. "But don't think I'll go easy on you just 'cause you're such a nervous little coordinator. That will only make it easier for me to beat you!" Shun frowned at Nadia's remark. Nobody was gonna beat Shiro on her watch, nobody! "Ru!" She cried out, taking her stance. "Haha, what a feisty little critter over there. All right then, let's go!" I thought aura the aura's coloration depended on the user's perception of its meaning and the actual personality of the person the user is focusing at... Like, for instance, I'd see myself surrounded by a green/yellow glowy outline cuz I'm rotten and that color seems sickly, hehe ~ Even if that ain't the case, it's still cooler than everybody being seen as blue :I
