Yep, that's why even though I admit the pros of breeding, I never do it (except when I try to get all female eevees <3). Not only cuz it bores me to hatch eggs, but because IVs and EVs are the most irrelevant stuff on my playthroughs.

I was breeding for shininess and WiFi battles, never for playthroughs... But it's still wrong... What is the purpose of my 6IV Rufflet if I already have my loved Braviary Augustus? Sure, it's a 6IV Jolly Rufflet, and Augustus is barely a 1IV wild caught Braviary with a shitty nature, but still... I was planning on using that Rufflet for Contests in ORAS, but I think I'm gonna stick with Augustus. Same goes for my shiny Trapinch project. I already have my Flygon, Euterpe. And she...

And she's awesome with Giga Drain (from Dream World)! She isn't any less valuable. In fact, she is far more valuable to me than any shiny Trapinch I might acquire through breeding.
