it may have been a while since I've seen t, but I still really enjoyed it. and one reason I believe it's so good is because overall, it's not that farfetched of an idea. Technology is evolving quite fast and there's a chance that some day an incident like this will happen. ngl if I have a kid then who's stuck in that situation I will risk my life to get them out. I'll join in late, idc

What gets me at first isn't the realism or lack there of, but the idea of such sophisticated technology going into gaming, or rather of gaming reaching such a point of extended reality that it could make something that would ideally be so engrossing and fun. There are people and anime that fantasize about what it would be like if they went to a world where it was real, where they could simply level be their character level and rule above the rest. I am a bit different. I look at a vr game and wonder how op I would be if I could jump in there as myself and be able to grow, increase, and customize my power as they can. Compared to the 'reality' they jump into, we are gifted with knowledge they haven't the ability to dream of and an awareness of tropes and pitfalls that silly characters meant for entertainment could never achieve. Truly, they often cover an idea that I've looked at and studied quite a bit- the study of power; how it is attained, used, and maintained. The idea of might is right vs might for right, and what contingent abilities mean in a moral and realistic sense.
