Thank you, this helped me get out of my head a little. It's just hard for me to write smaller contained stories so I get a little frazzled whenever I have to.

So I've been writing for television for a while now and I'm really good at that because I know how to slowly build a story but making a contained self-story gets tough and one that can be told in less than 3 hours literally has my brain smoking. Anyone with ideas on how to condense major ideas I'd love to hear opinions. Story is basically Fireforce meets Star wars,

So.... been a while since I wrote in the forums and even longer since I hit the creative works section since my little Reborn fan fic. (sorry to the eight fans I've kept waiting.) But I've come today while writing another project entirely. A crime drama following two young men on opposite sides of the law whose paths will inevitably cross in the worst way. However the character in question that I'd like opinions on is the ever present Officer K. A snide, clever and cynical corrupt cop that works for a joint crime organization combining an Italian mob family and a Mexican Cartel. His family was brutally murdered after he attempted to step in and take down members of the mob. They left him and his niece alive and forced him into their pocket. As time passed he stopped caring about the law or even his own happiness and became a creature of survival that masks his pain with crude humor that mocks anyone that works hard or gives a damn. Upon hearing the Cartel's involvement in his area he made moves for both heads of the family to meet and worked together to kill the person that took everything from him and shift power to the Cartel.
This is where we're at. K has achieved victory. He got revenge on the ones who took his life away. He's secured safety for his niece. He's got enough money to turn away from everything but he doesn't. He's come to the conclusion that being happy is no longer possible after all he's done to get where he's at and has virtually resigned himself to death. The story I plan to tell for this important side character is the cost of getting what you want and all the problems of defeatism. This officer constantly sees new recruits coming in and he steers them away from taking on bigger criminals so they don't end up like him so a piece of his morality is in tact. Instead of tearing people down, he uses comedy to cut and educate. I want to make this guy feel real and cut the cliches to a minimum. He isn't a brooding alcoholic. His home and office aren't in disarray. (on the contrary his home and office are bland and neat with a well stocked fridge emphasizing his want to stay healthy not happy)
So this is the story of K. He perishes by the end of the first season of this show I'm writing but every move he makes should feel human. A good person that lost an important fight and now no longer wants to and no call to adventure will bring him back.

I guess its hard to narrow down when to focus on character vs story and usually helps to have additional eyes. My usual focus on character means the story isn't always as fleshed out and that hurts my writing a bit. I'm trying to write with fewer characters than I used to in order to have a better balance and I think its helping me focus on whats important when there isn't too many characters involved.

Ahhh the writing section. I used to frequent here but then real life called. I'm back because I have a question for both writers and readers out there. I've been working with a small film group for a while and my writing has been praised for good character growth, world building and dialogue that keeps everything faithful to what the viewer perceives from each moving part however my story is generally... pretty bad. I can't lie , it usually isn't my focus to make the story good. This stems from my belief that every story has been told but every character type has not lived in each story that exists. (I admit this may be a lazy excuse to forgo certain writing improvement) However I want to know as I try to work on story building which is the most important? Are you like me with the sentiment that if you care about the people on the journey that the journey itself doesn't matter or do you believe that a solid focus on both aspects make for a better story regardless. Or is the journey important as you impose yourself in the character's shoes? Or I'll let the title dictate the question. Story or character? WHO WON? YOU DECIDE! EPIC RAP-sorry I've had a few tonight. Story or characters and why if you'd be so kind.

So that's episode 14. Those who know Taka can probably get that he's one of the stranger and more difficult characters to expand upon. Like... He only makes sense later on the road in the story and even then its only if you make certain choices. Anywho new characters mean new theme songs for said characters. For Taka I've decided on a song that I think perfectly captures him. Will you like it or appreciate it? Well If I'm being honest-

JUSTIN
I can eat him.
Justin points to Blaze who begins spitting fire on his own arm.
JUSTIN
Self-cooking too!
FERN
Have fun being dead loser. I'm gonna go to the beach and deliver the good news to Victoria.
Ferns runs off.
JUSTIN
I'm going to kill him.
Fern pops his head up from below a small cliff.
FERN
And by good news I mean your death and me being single.
Justin punches the gate as Fern dashes away.
JUSTIN
FERNNNNNN!
Justin begins pummeling the defenseless gate causing equal damage to it and his hands. Blaze sits down looking bored at his mentor's tantrum. After a few moments a Chatot pops out of some trees and looks around. It then goes to the lever hidden in the bush and pushes it to unlock the gate.
JUSTIN
(suddenly calm)
Umm... Thanks.
The Chatot looks at Justin for a moment.
Chatot
Help Justin. Help Justin.
JUSTIN
(confused)
Wait whuuuu?
The music note bird scampers off with Justin and Blaze confused.
JUSTIN
So... Should we see who's helping us?
Blaze nods and the two give chase ater Chatot.
E/I. skies of Jasper
High above the forest of Jasper are Soldier and Isabella looking for and taking out drones. Isabella points them out and Soldier quickly disposes of them causing the masses of iron to plummet into the forest below. After a few moments a vine pops up and grabs Soldier by the foot and begins pulling him down quickly. He pushes Isabella off his back and he is dragged down but she stops his descent with her psychic power long enough for him to cut through the vine. She falls past him but he is able to catch her and she returns to his back. Without time for rest more vines begin to attack the duo and Soldier begins to descend as he cuts through the vines until they safely reach the ground.
Soldier grunts and his wings close and retract and Isabella nods. Soldier looks around then taps her on the shoulder and rolls his eyes. He then walks ahead of her. She follows him from a distance and after a few steps several vines fly past her all aiming for Soldier but before they reach the mantis she stops them all with psychic power. She holds on to the psychic grab and Soldier untucks his wings and grabs her as the two follow the vines to their source.
E/I. JASPER FOREST
Justin and Blaze are running through the woodwork following the footprints from the small bird.
JUSTIN
So... Its odd that it isn't flying right?
Blaze caws in agreement.
JUSTIN
Yeah... I think this might be a trap.
Blaze again caws in agreement.
JUSTIN
Man. Me and you. Great minds think alike huh?
Blaze once again caws in agreement.
JUSTIN
Ohhh.... I think we were right bud.
Justin and Blaze stumble across the second of Team Meteor's grotesque Pulse machines once again hooked up to a clearly in agony Tangrowth. A young blonde haired man wearing a purple scarf with a yellow tee and blue jeans with dark spots under his eyes and a melancholic look on his face stands by the machine with a controller in his hands. Next to him is the Chatot responsible for saving Justin.
Taka
Hey there bud.
The sunny disposition of the young man's words clash heavily with his exhausted expression.
TAKA
You must be Justin.
JUSTIN
The one and only.
TAKA
I'm sure there are other Justins. Its a fairly common name friend.
JUSTIN
I... Yeah. You are?
TAKA
Taka. And this awful machine you see hooked up to Tangrowth is the PULSE or Pokémon Ultimation Link System Exaggerata... PULSE works.
JUSTIN
Okay...
TAKA
Ya know... I kinda want to set this guy free... Just a poke that wants to play in forests ya know.
Justin and Blaze cautiously walk over to the young man.
JUSTIN
Not hard when its not attacking...
TAKA
Yeah... Sadly I have orders. Keep guard, stop this Justin character who takes out PULSE and admins.
JUSTIN
You think you're gonna be the one to stop me?
TAKA
Dunno. The name is Taka by the way. Good luck saving the world... Arceus knows someone needs to.
JUSTIN
I'm confused.
TAKA
I hear that a lot.
Taka activates the PULSE with a controller.
TAKA
Tangrowth. Battle Mode.
The Tangrowth has poison ooze from its body as the machine fires up. It is jolted awake and wails in pain from the command. It whips out two vines that slam and pin Justin and Blaze into a nearby wall.
TAKA
I know you probably wont but don't take this personally... Just something I gotta do.
Justin and Blaze fight back the weight from the crushing vines but they are embedded further into the rock wall.
JUSTIN
For Arceus sake... Is this thing stronger in the forest?
TAKA
Fraid so.
A blinding light comes by and slashes the vines which are then covered by psychic energy and hurled back at the Tangrowth. Justin and Blaze are covered by the same energy and lifted a few yards away from the monster and Taka.
JUSTIN
Thank you Izzy. Soldier.
Both nod to Justin.
JUSTIN
So... Taka?
TAKA
Sup?
JUSTIN
Don't like your job, I get it. I think I know just how to get you fired... Blaze.
The young fowl ignites his hands with a serious look.
JUSTIN
Step one... Wreck your shit.
Justin lunges forward. Soldier and Blaze fly upward and attack from above.
TAKA
That is surprisingly easier than quitting.
The episode closes on Justin, Blaze and Soldier about to collide with the monstrous vine and we cut to black.
JUSTIN
You're weird.
End of Episode 14.

JUSTIN
Looks like its about their bedtime.
OFFICER DEAN
Agreed. Me and Growlithe will stick to the streets and see if we can get some gardening done. Fire types and forests aren't the best combinations.
CHIEF
Stay safe out their men. I'll try and get these drones working and maybe we can setup some better counter-surveillance.
OfFICER DEAN
Yes sir.
JUSTIN
Yes sir.
Everyone except the chief exits the precinct.
ExT. JASPER WARD dusk
We see Officer Dean heading up streets between buildings and Justin and company going into the forest.
JUSTIN
I hate to say it given the state of the Ward but this does have a certain type of beauty to it... Now that I think about it. Reborn looks nothing like how my parents described it. Ten years can really change a place huh.
Blaze pushes Justin to shake him off his train of thought.
JUSTIN
Sorry... Lets go.
ExT. Jasper Forest
Justin, Blaze, Luxcalibur, Soldier and Isabella are all cautiously walking through the forest. Nothing dangerous lurks in the forest, instead are a myriad of Bug types including Beedrill, Butterfree, Ariados and their early stage evolutions. Most are relatively docile and maintain their distance from Justin and company. A caterpie is seen crawling on Luxcalibur.
JUSTIN
I expected to run into some sort of danger at this point but nothing. Maybe the Meteors are just deeper but its odd since none of the Pokémon here are violent. I'm assuming-
Justin sinks through a hole in the ground and begins to plummet while yelling.
JUSTIN
DO NOT ALL JUMP IN!
The group of Pokémon all look at each other in confusion. Blaze tires of waiting and dives in after Justin. For light he ignites his hand and can see Justin slowing his descent with the poles usually holstered to his side. After a few moments they reach the bottom of the hole which is a small cave. Using Blaze's fire they look around and notice they are inside of a cage with a knocked out officer who looks as though he hasn't eaten in days.
JUSTIN
So Meteor is keeping them holed up huh. Dark thought but why let anyone live?
Blaze and Justin hear steps in the distance and Blaze puts out his flame.
JUSTIN
We'll knock em out here. I'll lock this location and send it to Lux. They can rescue the officer.
The steps get closer but no light comes on.
JUSTIN
(whispering)
They can't possibly see down here.
Finally the individuals reach the cell door and open it. Blaze reignites and lunges at them. We see it is a group of Nuzleaf and Shiftry.
JUSTIN
Nuzleaf and Shiftry. Explains the night vision.
The wily Pokémon all snarl at Blaze.
JUSTIN
Wait! We surrender...
Blaze lashes out at Justin.
JUSTIN
Blaze. We're on a rescue mission first. Lux and them know where here is. Let's find out if there's more okay?
Blaze's embers weaken so that they can see.
JUSTIN
We good.
The Shiftry begins to tie up Justin and Blaze's hands and the two are escorted out of the cave. When outside they can See Luxcalibur, Soldier and Isabella in the distance. Luxcalibur is about to run over but is cut off by Soldier after seeing Justin shake his head. A beep is heard on Isabella's communicator and a note pops up.
"Head to stored location. Officer down, Lux's eyes needed"
The group sees a map with a marker. Luxcalibur growls and heads to the location on the map alone. The small ballerina hops on Soldier's back and the two take to the skies.
ExT. JASPER POLICE DEPARTMENT
Luxcalibur arrives at the police station with the starved officer on his back. He growls outside the door and the chief comes out to see his hurt comrade.
CHIEF
Flynn? Damn it man what happened to you?!
The excited chief pulls the downed officer to his feet off Luxcalibur and brings him inside. The chief lays him on the couch and begins to resuscitate him. He is unsuccessful after a few moments. His face is flustered as he looks unsure of what to do. Luxcalibur places his tail on Flynn's chest and gives him a light shock and he bounces up.
Flynn
HOLY HELL.
Flynn recovers from the shock but then reels from his heavily growling stomach.
FLYNN
Thanks for the save chief.
The chief nods to Luxcalibur.
CHIEF
Try again.
FLYNN
Saved by a Pokémon. Thank ya kindly lion.
Luxcalibur smiles wagging his tail.
CHIEF
What happened to you?
FLYNN
Fell in a trap. Stuck in a cell. Growlithe was hurt from battling a bunch of Meteors.
CHIEF
So they've been setting up traps?
FLYNN
No. Nuzleaf and Shiftry. They setup pitfalls and crap. I don't think the Meteors know about them since I saw a few of their own fall for their fair share as well.
CHIEF
What did they do to you?
FLYNN
Nothing. Just left me in a cage they built underground.
Flynn's stomach growls again with increased intensity.
CHIEF
Alright. Rest up and get something to eat.
FLYNN
Yes sir.
Flynn limps to the back and the Chief pulls out a phone and calls Justin and Dean.
ChIEF
Dean. Justin. You copy?
A quick shot of Justin inside of an outdoor cage and Dean pulling vines from a building's doorway.
JUSTIN
Copy.
OFFICER DEAN
Yes sir.
CHIEF
Apparently Meteor isn't the only problem out there.
JUSTIN
Nuzleaf.
CHIEF
Y-yeah. Did you run into them?
JUSTIN
Yeah. Lux should get to you soon with one of the officers we found.
CHIEF
He just got back.
JUSTIN
Yeah I'm guessing they want this turf. Ran into the same problem underground in the city with rival Pokémon gangs.
OfFICER DEAN
Arceus damn! What should we do?
CHIEF
Stay on your damn toes officer!
OFFICER DEAN
Yes sir.
CHIEF
Justin remember they aren't the problem so if you encounter more don't waste your energy if you don't have to.
JUSTIN
Got it.
CHIEF
Still gonna be a while until I get the drone working. Luxcalibur did a real number on it.
Luxcalibur growls angrily.
CHIEF
Not complaining. Only have one because of you.
He pets the young lion calming him down.
JUSTIN
Lux. Try to regroup with Soldier and Izzy. Much easier than trying to find us.
Luxcalibur leaves the station.
CHIEF
He's heading out. I'm off too. Keep the line clear in case they can hear us too.
JUSTIN
Copy.
OFFICER DEAN
Roger.
All three hang up and we focus back on Justin and Blaze trapped in the cage.
JUSTIN
So... Blaze.
Blaze nods but before he can begin to tear down the cage Fern walks up.
JUSTIN
No......
Fern
Well well well....
JUSTIN
No.......
FERN
WELL WELL WELL.....
JUSTIN
NOOOOOOOOOO........
FERN
WELLLLLLL WELLLLLL WELLLLL.....
JUSTIN
For Arceus sake why now....
Fern paces around the cage's entrance and uncovers a lever hidden by a small bush.
FERN
Justin... Why am I not surprised? I came up here looking for a gym but all I see is a scrub in a cage.
JUSTIN
You do realize this area is in lockdown and the gym leader may be dead right? I love ripping on people too but maybe this isn't the time for you to be you.
FERN
Please. No stupid lockdown can keep me out.
JUSTIN
Do you just not know what words are?
FERN
I couldn't expect a simpleton like you to understand how MY mind works.
JUSTIN
You got me there.
FERN
Of course I do. And as a sign of respect for you realizing your mistakes I will open this gate for you.
JUSTIN
Golly what a hero.
FERN
All you need to do is take a knee and ask nicely.
JUSTIN
I would but sadly it isn't opposite day so...
FERN
Last chance Justurd I will let you rot in there.

The battle for Beryl rages on with Justin and Team Shenanigans finally entering Jasper forest to take down Team Meteor and save the plant infested wards. It seems there are more perils that lurk in the wood work besides just Meteor. The true danger behind Beryl and Jasper has yet to be discovered but the real mystery is will taking down those responsible truly bring piece to this sliver of Reborn. Only time can tell in this installment of Justin's Story. The Battle for Beryl Part 2: Administrative Duties.
ExT. jasper ward
The episode continues where the last left off with Justin charging towards the forest. As he approaches the entrance he is attacked by vines. They lunge at him but he grabs them and locks them down between his arm and torso.
Justin
LUX!
Luxcalibur jumps in the air and looses a thunderbolt which burns the vines to ash.
JUSTIN
Where's the trail of that vine lead bud.
Luxcalibur's eyes glow and he looks around the area and is startled upon looking down. Justin turns around to see Blaze breath out a flame thrower that just misses him and scorches more vines that come from the woodwork.
JUSTIN
What in the distortion world was that?
Luxcalibur growls and Justin sees the vines are coming from the ground.
JUSTIN
This is bad.
Officer
Its worse than you think. Check out the weather right now.
The group looks upwards minus Luxcalibur and Soldier who are looking at a tree next to the police station.
JUSTIN
A ripe sunny day. Makes it hard for surprise attacks.
OFFICER
And hard to fight grass types like the one hooked up to that crazy machine in the forest.
JUSTIN
(sighing)
Yeah... Forgot about that.
OFFICER
It sounds dangerous but I've made significantly more progress at night.
Soldier kneels next to Luxcalibur and the two whisper between each other.
JUSTIN
Meteor might have surveillance. If that's the case then it just might be harder to track us after dark.
OFFICER
I hate to think they're keeping a better eye on us than we are on them.
JUSTIN
Hey Lux, Soldier. Wanna take to the skies and give us a birdy eye report?
Luxcalibur shakes his head.
JUSTIN
Ummm okay.
Justin looks at his partner confused. Luxcalibur rises to his hind legs and Soldier bolts away in a flash then a man screams as he is flung from the tree by the side of the station. When he lands Luxcalibur comes down and presses his front legs on the man's chest.
JUSTIN
(shocked)
How about that?
The officer rushes over to the man now being held prisoner.
Meteor
Let me guess... I have the right to remain si-
The police officer punches the man in the jaw.
JUSTIN
I think we're supposed to interrogate a certain way first.
OFFICER
This is one of the maniacs behind the train station bombing!
JUSTIN
(shocked)
What?
METEOR
Hey nobody important got hurt.
The meteor snickers and the officer punches him again. Before a third punch lands Justin pulls the officer off of him.
JUSTIN
If he's knocked out or dead, he can't help us.
METEOR
Who says I will anyway?
JUSTIN
I dunno. How do you feel about heights?
METEOR
(confused)
I... Wha?
In the next shot we Soldier dropping the man from several hundred feet in the air. He screams in terror as he falls at high speeds. Descending next to him is Isabella who looks worried for the man. Justin can be heard through a communicator on her wrist.
JUSTIN
Hey Izzy. He have a change of heart yet?
The man pulls Isabella's watch closer and yells violently into it.
METEOR
YES FOR ARCEUS SAKE I'LL TALK!
JUSTIN
Beam em up Scotty.
Isabella teleports them up to Soldier who then gently flies them both down. He throws the meteor to the ground hard.
JUSTIN
Have fun big guy?
MeTEOR
(furious)
What do you think-
Justin raises his hand about to signal a second flight.
METEOR
(soft spoken)
About helping this sick man reform his awful ways.
JUSTIN
I'd love to help. Officer...
Officer dean
Dean. I'll take him to holding. See what we can get out of him.
JUSTIN
Alright.
OFFICER DEAN
In the mean time I suggest you kids wait till night. Fight during the day and you're just giving them the edge.
JUSTIN
Yeah, I'd rather catch them sleeping... and would you look at that.
Everyone stares at the captive Meteor goon.
JUSTIN
We have their old alarm clock.
The groups glares quickly change to grins.
METEOR
Awww slurpuff tails.
Int. jasper police department
Only Officer Dean, the Chief and another officer are in the precinct along with one Growlithe. Justin and company are all sitting at a table with the police chief standing a few feet away explaining the scenario. Luxcalibur stands by the door with eyes in full glow.
Chief
I'm certain they have surveillance but its nearly impossible to figure out where it is. Their moves don't always counter ours and every once in a while we're caught in a trap. Hence the dwindling numbers.
JUSTIN
Lux.
The young lion turns to Justin.
JUSTIN
What's in the skies bud?
Luxcalibur looks up and walks through the precinct. He then exits the building.
CHIEF
What is he-
JUSTIN
Give em a minute.
A few crashes are heard outside. After a moment Luxcalibur walks in with several drones in his mouth. They spark and fade in and out of view.
CHIEF
Cloaking...
JUSTIN
More where that came from?
Luxcalibur points to the distance.
JUSTIN
Figured. Take a breather bud. You've never been pushed and I'd rather not see your limit hit while we're here.
Luxcalibur nods and goes to lay down.
CHIEF
Thank you for giving us some freedom again. I'd go further in detail but I'm told you've been briefed more than once already.
JUSTIN
Yeah. Can you tell me about any places people could still be hiding if they've been holding out.
CHIEF
That's the question of the year kid. Until you told me about the young woman in the nearby complex... I assumed the worst.
JUSTIN
Does anything come to mind?
CHIEF
Well... Its a long shot but.
JUSTIN
But?
Officer Dean comes from the back room. His fists are bandaged and traces of blood can be seen on them.
CHIEF
I take it our guest wasn't as ready to talk as we hoped?
OfficeR DEAN
We shared choice words for each other's co-workers... Finally he told me about a small group that his friends were trying to reach. They've been holed up in the Beryl Public Library. A lone girl has been wreaking havoc on anyone who tries to break in.
CHIEF
That's what I had hoped people reached and stayed safe.
OFFICER DEAN
Luckily its 100% intact.
JUSTIN
So we need to reach the library and we can save?
OfFICER DEAN
Barring a few casualties... Everyone.
The police chief yells in excitement.
CHIEF
Arceus be fucking praised!
JUSTIN
We can trust this information to not be a trap?
OFFICER DEAN
Can trust him as far as I can throw em
CHIEF
And Dean can't throw for shit.
Both officers chuckle.
OFFICER DEAN
Thanks Chief. But seriously Justin, as much as we want it to be the case we can't rule out it being a trap.
CHIEF
That said however, the library has a large stockpile of food for literally this kind of scenario. Scary problem is a couple weeks ago I saw a Salamance flying and a small girl with a large bag away from the direction of the library.
JUSTIN
Think its the same defender?
CHIEF
Can't know for sure until we secure the library.
JUSTIN
Alright. We need to secure a route to Beryl.
OffICER DEAN
Yeah. If we can help just say the word.
Justin raises his Pokégear on his wrist and the cops raises his gear and the two bump them and a bing is heard.
JUSTIN
Stay in contact Officer Dean. If either of us need backup just say it.
OFFICER DEAN
Dean is fine Justin.
Outside the windows we see the setting sun.

I honestly think there is a decent playlist with all the songs I've used for these past thirteen episodes. If anyone is cranking them out at parties just #djJustNBlaze They'll get it. As for this episode's song. The person(s) this is devoted to is the entirety of Team Shenanigans. The song that kind of put me back in the work mood. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. I like this version best and think everyone should listen to it when they need a kick in the pants which Shenanigans is good at. Without further uhhdoo...

Blaze grabs Justin's shoulder.
JUSTIN
Relax bud, I'll be right back. Just train or sleep for a bit.
Justin leaves and Blaze looks on worried.
SEACREST
Calm down McNuggets, your dad will be back.
InT. sEACREST'S GARDEN
Its a few hours later and the group is in the lobby of Seacrest's manor. Justin walks in with four small books.
JUSTIN
(surprised)
Oh hey guys. Guess you're all a little antsy. Here.
Justin approaches each of his team members and hands them one of his booklets.
JUSTIN
That's our base outline plus field objectives and several emergency plans of escape should Grimer hit the fan. Learn it and love it by tomorrow. I'm gonna take a nap.
Justin goes into the garden and lays against a tree. He looks into the air staring at the clouds when all of a sudden something lands on his lap. He looks down to see Luxcalibur laying across his legs reading his book. He pets his lion companion and looks up only to once again feel another bump. This time it is Blaze with his back to Justin's arm. Without missing a beat Isabella occupies his other arm and Soldier jumps onto the branch above and Lucky finishes the kodak moment by sitting on Luxcalibur's back. Justin smiles looking at his team all studiously devoted to their books. The scene fades from afar.

Justin, Blaze, Luxcalibur, Soldier and Isabella all stand side by side at the entrance to the Jasper ward. A lone officer stands in front of them.
JUSTIN
Hello officer. You probably heard about our arrival.
Officer
Heard it'd be another week before you were ready.
JUSTIN
People may not be able to wait that long.
OFFICER
Its not just Beryl as you will see.
JUSTIN
Jasper too. I read the report.
OFFICER
Beryl is definitely in worse shape but neither ward is good at the moment.
JUSTIN
We intend to fix that.
OFFICER
Arceus I hope so. Luckily me, my partner and the chief were able to free up the station so if you need to rest feel free to stop there.
JUSTIN
Got it.
OFFICER
Well then... Shall we?
Just as everyone is ready to start their journey a young girl runs towards Justin and company.
Young woman
WAIT PLEASE!
She reaches the halted group panting after her run.
JUSTIN
What's wrong?
YOUNG WOMAN
My... My...
JUSTIN
Take a deep breath.
She regains her composure after a moment and starts talking again.
YOUNG WOMAN
My friend has been stuck in Jasper ward for weeks.
JUSTIN
Since the outbreak?
YOUNG WOMAN
Yes. You have to save her.
OFFICER
We will do our best but you can't get your hopes up. So please-
YOUNG WOMAN
NO! You don't understand. Her cell phone just died yesterday. I've been comforting her once a day to keep her sane but since it died now she's just scared and alone... Please-
Justin's eyes widen.
YOUNG WOMAN
She lives in the only standing housing building. Its just left of the Pokémon center-
Justin begins a mad dash up the stairs and his team follows suit.
OFFICER
Wait Justin!... Miss your friend will be safe. You can count on us.
YOUNG WOMAN
Thank you... Please save her!
The officer runs up the stairs and catches up to Justin and his team who are in shock at the devastation done to Jasper. Once flourishing buildings eroded due to rampant vines. The streets torn to pieces now held together by seams of plants and roots. Grass type Pokémon dance among the damage they now call their home. Justin looks upon the infestation with more rage and frustration than shock. Blaze and Isabella place their hands on his arms and he calms down.
JUSTIN
I'm okay. Team Meteor will pay for this but that waits until after we've saved everyone who is still holding out. For every soul in Jasper and every body in Beryl we will fight until we can't anymore and when we can't we will push past that. Much like the Sky Dragon... We eat meteors. Now then. LET'S GO!
Justin charges headfirst into the forest with his team right behind him and we freeze on the group about to enter the harrowing forest.

Yes they do. But what about you?
JUSTIN
Well I want you with me but I'm not gonna die if left alone.
VICTORIA

Justin looks confused.
JUSTIN
About what?
VICTORIA
(shocked)
Nothing. Its just you know how hopeless the students can be without me sometimes.
Justin winks.
JUSTIN
Can't say I'm not jealous.
VICTORIA
Then something until we meet again.
Victoria moves in close and gives Justin a long passionate kiss.
JUSTIN
Uhh....
VICTORIA
I would of liked if we could have finished our date.
JUSTIN
M.m.m.me too.
(clearing his throat)
I mean we'll just have to set up something in the future. Like a picnic on the beach.
VICTORIA
I'd like that... well. See you later Justin.
Victoria leaves the garden with Justin hopelessly lost as she walks out. He slowly returns to his friends who are all grinning including the once sleeping Blaze and Lucky. Justin clears his throat.
JUSTIN
WHO IS THE GREATEST TRAINER IN REBORN?!
His team all cheer and point at him as he makes a pose.
JUSTIN
WHO IS GONNA TAKE DOWN TEAM METEOR NO MATTER WHAT?!
Taking another pose Justin continues his chants.
JUSTIN
WHO IS THE BEST LOOKIN' BAG OF BAD ASSERY KNOWN AS JUSTIN FREAKIN' WEYLAND?!
His team continues to cheer supporting his overblown ego.
JUSTIN
AND WHO IS READY TO KICK SOME ASS THEN AS A REWARD HEAD ON OVER TO THE BEACH FOR A SUMMER PARTY?!!!!
Everyone excluding Seacrest jump and dance around the invigorated young trainer. We see Victoria outside smiling while hearing Justin's energetic rant. Back inside everyone is playing and dancing around.
SEACREST
Who is the rowdiest group of kids in Reborn?
Team Shenanigans continue their wild parade.
SEACREST
Yeah... All of those questions were pretty obvious.
InT. sEACREST'S GARDEN
It is early the next morning. Justin, Blaze, Luxcalibur, Soldier and Isabella are gathered in the center of the garden.
JUSTIN
So guys. Serious talk here. Beryl Ward is a complete disaster and even in the rough shape its in, I'm not sure how we're going to pull through. What's worse is we can't all go.
Everyone looks at Justin surprised.
JUSTIN
The garden would be left unprotected. Ideally I want at least two of you to stay here.
The group shouts in protest and Seacrest comes outside.
SEACREST
They're taking that about as well as I expected.
JUSTIN
We can't leave you without help. Its usually when Magma attacks. I may not be able to rush back either.
SEACREST
Well then you may want to talk to someone.
JUSTIN
Who-
Seacrest points to the doorway and a young light skinned man sits in the doorway. He has a slightly muscular build. He's dressed in tattered blue jeans and a large blue and white varsity coat with a #1 on the back. He has steely blue eyes and nods his head for Justin to come over. Justin makes his way over to the young burly blue clad man.
JUSTIN
Hello. How can I help you?
Archer
Me? Can't do much for me but I can help you.
JUSTIN
That right?
ARCHER
The name is Archer. I'm the guy who runs the team you impersonated.
JUSTIN
Team Aqua.
ARCHER
Damn right. I hear you and your boys beat Magma's ass a few times.
JUSTIN
Yeah. Bad teams tend to get hurt around us.
ARCHER
Cute threat. I'd like you to meet my friend.
Archer walks outside with Justin following after. Archer looks into the purple discolored ocean smiling then pulls out a beautiful brightly blue jewel.
ARCHER
Watcher of the twisted waves...
Justin looks at the Aqua leader in horror.
JUSTIN
Impossible.
ARCHER
Defender of the dying sea and guardian over my weak world. I beseech thee. May I be cleansed by your presence.
The jewel in Archer's hand glows brilliantly and slowly an immense creature rises from the water which is all purified surrounding its immediate area. The Sea Basin Pokémon Kyogre rises to the surface.
ARCHER
Hey Levi. My bud here is gonna join us in cleaning up this dump. Just wanted you to see him for yourself.
The large ocean dweller Pokémon speaks in a soft yet powerful feminine voice. The echo from her words reverberate through Justin's spine and for the first time we see fear in his eyes and frailty in his voice.
Leviathan
Ahhh. Justin correct?
ARCHER
How do you-
Justin clears his throat to ease his own nerves and deflects Archer's question.
JUSTIN
(rushing Leviathan)
Boring story. Yes I am. You can go now.
LEVIATHAN
Hmmm. Be wary Archer. This one attracts danger.
Leviathan the Kyogre sinks back into the water which is once again sullied once she disappears.
JUSTIN
So. You care to explain?
ARCHER
You clearly like secrets so you keep yours and I'll keep mine.
JUSTIN
Sorry. I have to for now.
ARCHER
Got it. Anyway, Levi promised to keep the Magmas out so thats why Maxine wont be bothering you ever again.
JUSTIN
What do you get out of this? Are your members trapped in Beryl?
ARCHER
No. My team is small and generally sticks together. However I can see clear as day that this gross city will be clean again. When that time comes, I'd like your help in getting my boys clean.
JUSTIN
Really?
ARCHER
I make investments... Justin from Blackthorn. So what do you say?
JUSTIN
Keep my house and friends safe and when the police return, I'll make sure they overlook your past
(clears throat)
Activities.
ARCHER
My man.
JUSTIN
What was your friend's name?
ARCHER
Leviathan...
(grinning)

JUSTIN

ARCHER
Interesting. Well. See you around Justin. Stay fresh.
Archer leaves. Justin stares into the ocean for a few moments before returning inside. Seacrest meets him by the fountain.
SEACREST
What did he say? Did you boys fight, I heard a lot of splashing.
JUSTIN
No... He's good.
SEACREST
Relatively. He runs a gang.
JUSTIN
No Seacrest. He's good. Like... Just trust me. The garden will be safe from here on out. At least from any fires.
Seacrest studies Justin for a moment.
SEACREST
Alright.
Justin and Seacrest make their way back into the garden with Justin's team eagerly awaiting their captain. Justin approaches the planning table and takes a deep breath.
JUSTIN
Blaze. Luxcalibur. Soldier. Isabella. The five of us are going to save Beryl.
All members nod.
JUSTIN
I wont lie to you. This will be extremely dangerous and all of you are to read the reports and finish them by tomorrow. We will have plans in case of separation so no matter who you are split with you will have the best way to work with them even if one or both of you are injured. Lux and you too Soldier will be our biggest assets. Soldier you have aerial advantage and Lux you can see everything. If things take a drastic turn you follow my outline and I will finish alone if need be.
Blaze punches Justin in the chest.
JUSTIN
(chuckling)
I know... Figured I'd try anyway.
(serious)
We need to be smart about this. Our first goal is to save any survivors. 2nd is to find and assist Corey if he's still alive. 3rd is the police force. Lastly we take down team meteor. I know the police force should be first but they have the biggest advantage here so they can most likely hold out the best. The survivors will be hard. Izzy you will imprint at Grand Hall so we can quickly teleport anyone there.
Isabella nods.
JUSTIN
If you guys have any objections let me know. There is no turning back once we go in the forests.
Lucky hops on the table and jumps into Justin yelling in objection to his exclusion.
JUSTIN
(smiling)
Sorry bud. You're not quite ready for the battle scene.
Lucky swings his arms and they begin to glow.
JUSTIN
Yes metronome is cute Lucky but it can hardly compare to-
A large shadow overtakes the garden, everyone looks up in shock to see a large meteor rain down.
JUSTIN
Is that... Draco meteor?
In an instant a torrent of crystal clear water obliterates the meteor and rains light clean water over the garden.
SEACREST
What the heck was that?
JUSTIN
(nervous)
Must of been Izzy's teleport.
She begins to interject.
JUSTIN
That quick thinking will save lives Izzy. Good job.
She tries to speak again but Justin throws a rare candy into her mouth.
JUSTIN
No need to thank me...
(serious)
Just. Eat.
The young ballerina looks on confused as Seacrest looks at Justin full of suspicion.
JUSTIN
Now then kids. Go train, rest, prepare or just walk around and ease your nerves. I'll have plans ready in about six hours. I'll be back.
Justin begins to leave.

Here we are once again. I'm in the mind to write and nothing is gonna stop me... at the moment. So this officially begins my favorite part of this story as well as my favorite part in Reborn and one of my favorite moments in gaming. The entirety of the Beryl ward arc. Seriously seeing a familiar story go in such a different direction was just nice to see. The police force actually trying to do something instead of sitting in front of a hole confused as to where a robber went... (were you even trying gamefreak??) And of course the major twist of a gym leader turning against you and if Pokémon had game overs even killing you. So hopefully I can do this story more justice than batman v superman. Anyway I digest... Justin finishes his epic battle with Florinia and is told of the vile infestation plaguing Jasper and Beryl Wards. He calls upon his team to save the wards. Now Justin, Blaze, Luxcalibur, Soldier and Isabella venture into the mock wilderness but what awaits them inside. This is the Battle for Beryl Part 1: Team Shenanigans.
InT. OTS Florinia's Gym
The episode continues where it left off in Soldier and Mega-Sceptile's battle. Soldier finishes his swing cutting his forest bound opponent down the length of his torso. It staggers away a few steps and begins to camouflage with a nearby tree.
Justin
Soldier.
Soldier dashes over and begins cutting it repeatedly until it is forced out of its Mega form.
JUSTIN
Making him try makes your buddy leagues ahead of most mons. You should be proud of him.
Florinia
Well fought Sceptile. Ret-
The weakened grass Pokémon begins to whistle and upon hearing the tune everyone in the stadium grows drowsy.
JUSTIN
What is that...
Soldier staggers a little bit.
JUSTIN
No no no... Soldier you need-
The Sceptile stands over Soldier charging an energy attack.
FLORINIA
A dragon pulse attack. Well done.
Sceptile proceeds to stand on Soldier's foot as it charges the attack.
FLORINIA
Now before you lose your chance.
The tree gecko releases his energy blast at point blank engulfing his opponent in a large explosion. When the smoke clears we see Soldier's arms have embedded into the ground and he has taken some noticeable damage from the attack.
JUSTIN
I cannot lose another match this early.
Blaze wakes from his poisoned slumber with dark bags under his already black feathered eyes. He climbs off Justin's back and caws out to Soldier. Soldier hears this and his wings begin fluttering wildly with enough force to create a blowing gust on Justin, Blaze and the forest behind him. Blaze caws and at his instruction Soldier charges forward bashing Sceptile through a myriad of trees leaving him at the edge of the forest.
JUSTIN
Good job Soldier.
Soldier looks at his smiling partner and has a flashback of seeing his old squad captain smiling forward in the same pose.
FLORINIA
Sceptile...
The forest Pokémon is barely able to stand and walks over to Soldier limping the whole walk and extends its arm. Soldier smiles and the two clash blades a final time before Sceptile walks off the field and nods to Florinia and is recalled.
JUSTIN
Wow. Someone who just appreciates a good fight. I like your gecko friend Flo.
FLORINIA
Me and Sceptile have trained together for some time. She is my first teammate.
JUSTIN
Oh wow... Soldier beat up a girl. Not cool man...
Soldier looks irritated by Justin's comment. He looks over to see Blaze and Justin shaking their head in disapproval. Soldier walks off the fighting area.
JuSTIN
Gonna go home and beat up all the other ladies.
Soldier holds up Blaze's gear and shows a crying Lucky on screen.
JUSTIN
Gotta take care of the kid. I get it.
Soldier exits the gym.
FLORINIA
You expect to take down the rest of my team with Blaze alone?
JUSTIN
Don't have a choice. He has a son. As a parent I can relate.
Florinia and Julia look on at the young man in shock. Justin throws his arm around Blaze and kisses the top of his head.
JUSTIN
This is my beautiful baby boy right here. He takes after his not so old man.
FLORINIA
I see.
Victoria
I expected different and I shouldn't of.
JUSTIN
We both know how this fight goes from here right Flo?
FLORINIA
You may believe that but a battle isn't decided until its conclusion.
JUSTIN
That right?
FLORINIA
And make no mistake. The conclusion is forthcoming.
JUSTIN
(excited)
Attagirl.
Justin is fired up from Florinia's challenge. She summons Ivysaur to the field. Blaze walks onto the field his every step leaving embers on the grass.
JUSTIN
The next move is big Blaze. You already know what she's planning right?
Blaze nods.
JUSTIN
Alright buddy. The battle is in your hands. Three...Two...One... GO!
Ivysaur bolts up a tree and Blaze rushes to the center of the field.
FLORINIA
Rain dance!
Before Ivysaur can activate his move Blaze explodes with flames bursting from his body and in seconds the field is covered with flames. A light drizzle starts over the now raging inferno of a forest but it does nothing to quell the blaze.
JUSTIN
Sit back buddy,the fires will take out her teammate.
Justin's call holds true as the tree Ivysaur is on collapses from the flames and Ivysaur is burned by the field and runs out of the arena and is abruptly recalled by Florinia. Blaze takes a deep breath finally feeling some comfort from the raging fires surrounding him.
JUSTIN
You feeling better buddy?
Blaze is seen throwing a thumbs up on the monitor.
JUSTIN
So Flo, who is left?
Florinia summons her final Pokémon Cradily. The rock flower sits outside of the forest's edge gazing upon the raging fire and looks hesitant at its trainer.
FLORINIA
Worry not Cradily. I will not force you into that.
The final grass types gives a sigh of relief before being recalled. Justin goes into the burning forest to retrieve his friend.
FLORINIA
Please wait, I have built in safety measures for-
After a few moments Justin is seen with partially burnt clothes carrying Blaze from the burning woodwork. After the sprinklers above take effect and douse the field.
JUSTIN
He doesn't care for rain.
FLORINIA
I see. Justin for your exemplary skill in battle and displaying strength in the face of overwhelming odds, I award you the Canopy Badge.
Florinia walks over to Justin and hands him his reward.
JUSTIN
Two down... Sixteen to go. This is going to take some time... Look bud, new badge.
Justin shows Blaze the newly acquired badge. He caws weakly before falling back to sleep.
JUSTIN
Thanks Flo. Its been fun. See you around.
Justin begins to leave with Victoria meeting him by the door until he is called by Florinia.
FLORINIA
Justin. Have you any current activities to occupy your time?
JUSTIN
Bold asking for a date after losing but damn if I don't respect it.
FLORINIA
Allow me to clarify. You assistance is needed once again.
JUSTIN
(weakly)
Yay....
FLORINIA
While we were able to protect the Opal and Obsidia Wards, I'm afraid Beryl wasn't able to receive the same attention. It has blossomed from its budding state and the plant infestation has spiraled out of control.
JUSTIN
What are you saying?
FLORINIA
The Jasper and Beryl wards are the current root of our problems. The police force's base of operations resides in Jasper and Beryl houses the gym leader Corey. We lost contact with both parties the day of the train station bombing. Given the amount of time passed we can only assume the worst has come to pass. Due to my extended departure I can no longer leave the school. You'll unfortunately find Julia is not equipped for a long journey either.
JUSTIN
(sarcastic)
Of course not.
FLORINIA
If you accept this mission I will make sure you are properly rewarded.
JUSTIN
Good to hear, I would of taken the job regardless.
VICTORIA
Justin, maybe you should reconsider.
JUSTIN
Not gonna happen. Flo, send whatever reports have been developed to Seacrest's garden. Team Shenanigans is on the case.
FLORINIA
Very well. I would wish you luck however luck is merely an illusory essentialization of statistics and is not inherently good or bad in any way.
Florinia extends her hand.
FLORINIA
However I hope that you fare well.
Justin shakes her hand.
JUSTIN
Thanks Flo.
InT. seacrest's garden
It is late evening and a few people are gathered in the garden around a small fire. Blaze is sleeping with his head on Luxcalibur's back, next to him is Isabella who is watching over him. Soldier is sitting with Lucky on his lap sleeping. Seacrest, Justin and Victoria are all sitting in lawn chairs close to the flame each holding a beer.
Seacrest
So from one dangerous job to the next huh boy?
JUSTIN
I like to live dangerously.
SEACREST
Clearly. You do realize this one may be above your pay grade?
JUSTIN
Honestly... This one looks really bad no matter how you paint it. The police force gone, a gym leader possibly dead and two districts totally destroyed by the plants. Nancy showed me Flo's reports. For once Team Meteor actually seems competent.
SEACREST
Looks like they also setup two of those machines.
JUSTIN
Took quite a bit to take down one but this time they're sure to have guards.
SEACREST
You don't have to do this. You can wait and we can gather folks and mount a real rescue.
JUSTIN
Its been about a month since everyone got trapped up there. If people are still holding out...
VICTORIA
You don't think there are survivors do you?
JUSTIN
Maybe.
VICTORIA
So you want to rush into this on the off chance some people may still be waiting for help?
JUSTIN
Dumb yeah. My reasoning... Absolutely.
VICTORIA
Well, I obviously can't-
Victoria's phone begins to ring.
JUSTIN
I know that song...
SEACREST
Yeah... Its called good luck Justin.
VICTORIA
No its... Just a minute.
Victoria walks away from the group to answer it.
VICTORIA
Yes... I'm a tad busy at the moment. There is an urgent mater... Can you not help... Yes... I... Understood... I'll-
Victoria looks at Justin and Seacrest waving her off.
VICTORIA
I'll be there in a few hours.
Victoria hangs up and walks over to Justin.
VICTORIA
Justin. I'm so sorry. If you just-
Justin stands and walks away from the fire with Victoria following him to the edge of the garden.
JUSTIN
Vic. Its cool. You've got big responsibilities as a gym assistant. I've heard about Apophyll. You can't leave them alone with how crazy Reborn's been. They need you.

Episode 12 was the most fun I had writing in some time. Hope you all can enjoy it as much as I did. Obviously wouldn't leave you all without a song. This episode is devoted to the stoic war veteran Soldier. I think its pretty cool and while I never played the COD games, I have them to thank for turning me on to this gem. Here ya go. Hopefully the next episode drops sooner rather than later amiright?

Florinia recalls Cacturne and summons a Sceptile. The wild tree gecko walks around the field brushing is hands against all of the field. It looks at Soldier occasionally.
FlORINIA
I originally planned on having Sceptile fight Luxcalibur but since you chose to exclude him from the challenge I suppose this will have to do.
Justin throws his hands up in protest.
JUSTIN
Don't sell Soldier off so short. He's the most trained person in this room. He fought alongside Lt. Surge.
Everyone in the room starts murmuring about Surge's legacy.
FlORINIA
(stunned)
Is that correct?
JUSTIN
Yep.
FlORINIA
Then there is no need to hold back.
JUSTIN
Yeah... You're Fern's sister.
FlORINIA
Defender of the forest. One with the will to overcome corruption. Dragon of the sacred garden. Come forth and collect your power.
Florinia reveals a Mega-Bracelet holstered to her left shoulder.
JUSTIN
Ohhhh no....
A swirling ball of pink energy surrounds Sceptile and it quickly evolves into the highly agile Dragon Grass type Mega-Sceptile
JUSTIN
Ummm Soldier. Again don't kill him but at the same time, holding back is not ideal.
FlORINIA
Don't allow them an inch Sceptile.
Ignoring their trainers both Pokémon step towards the other and clash blades showing a sign of respect then return to their former positions readier than ever to begin their battle.
JUSTIN
Blaze wake up this is gonna be awesome.
In that instant both fighters disappear then several clashes can be heard all over the stadium. As if mimicking and old DBZ cartoon their battle transcends speed and all of its known concepts. Teleporting across the field in high speed flashes these two combatants revel in ecstasy throughout their intense battle. The monitor picks up blurs of the fighters along with puffs of sand popping where the two Pokémon clashed. The only ones able to clearly watch the battle seem to be Justin, Florinia and Victoria.
FlORINIA
Sceptile. The field is yours to mold.
Both Sceptile and Soldier separate. Sceptile digs its arms into the sand and they begin to glow a soft light green before trees and bushes and grass cover the entire arena changing it into a grassy terrain.
JUSTIN
So this is why you wanted Blaze out of the picture.
FlORINIA
Indeed. Your young pyro would have set the field ablaze and benefited greatly while my team would have suffered. A grass field would generally be more of a hindrance than a boon given the caliber of trainer in Reborn.
JUSTIN
Fair enough. Soldier let's take this chance to-
Justin is confused by Sceptile's disappearance.
JUSTIN
Wasn't he?
Soldier grunts and jumps on top of the newly formed trees.
JUSTIN
I think it can camouflage.
FlORINIA
A trait learned in its second stage of course maintained in Sceptile's adult form.
JUSTIN
Really wishing I had brought Lux.
Sceptile emerges from the top of the tree next to Soldier. Soldier quickly reacts and swings his blade down towards Sceptile's shoulder but is blocked by a white shield.
JUSTIN
Damn it knows detect! Soldier move!
FlORINIA
Thunder punch.
JUSTIN
NO!
The orbs on the Mega-monster's back light up with yellow sparks and the energy trails down its right arm before it punches Soldier square in the face sending it flying through several trees.
FlORINIA
I fully understand your belief in your team's abilities however I suggest you refrain from underestimating the talent of others. Continuing with such audacity may cost you more than a simple league match in the future.
JUSTIN
Soldier... Buddy? You o-
Soldier stands with static still fresh on his body. The old mantis clearly furious viciously clangs his arms together and disappears leaving a crater in the dirt and grass. In a moment several trees are separated from their stumps and fall slowly through the air, Soldier bounces from tree to tree until he is directly overhead his Mega-evolved opponent. He whizzes downward towards the Forest Pokémon.
FlORINIA
Leaf storm!
Sceptile raises both hands to the sky at his target and leaves, branches and trees from overhead begins to glow green with energy before flying towards Soldier. As they approach their target he disappears in a flash then reappears behind Sceptile. He swings his right arm blade through the ground, tearing it along the swing and everything cuts to black before the impact showing the terrified looks on everyone's faces.
End of episode 12.

JUSTIN
Or. And hear me out here.
Justin easily breaks free from Serperior and grabs its tail. He then begins to slam it repeatedly into the ground until it passes out from the damage.
JUSTIN
You recognize the true top dog.
FERN
Another fluke. THATS ALL YOU ARE TURD!
Justin rubs his nails on his shirt scoffing at the lost grass trainer.
FERN

InT. onYX TRAINER'S SCHOOL Florinia's gym
Justin, Blaze, Soldier and Victoria enter Florinia's gymnasium and much to Justin's shock her gym is a desert themed battleground complete with cacti and dried out tumbleweeds.
JUSTIN
Wait what!
We here a camera snap and see that Victoria has taken a picture of Justin's shock.
VICTORIA
Maybe still a little cute.
JUSTIN
Wait time out. You knew about this?
VICTORIA
I went to the school and my sensei is a gym leader. I know every gym leader's layout.
JUSTIN
I planned for this since I fought Julia.
Florinia
Hello Justin. I am pleased that you have overcome both Meteor attacks and could make it to this arena.
JUSTIN
So you aren't a grass type trainer or...
FlORINIA
Indeed I am. I however has chosen a route that hinders mobility allowing me time to plan.
Justin applauds Flornia's methodology.
JUSTIN
Not bad Flo. Not bad.
VICTORIA
Good luck Justin.
A large viewing space filled with bleachers rests to the side of the arena. The space has a fair amount of students including some of Justin's recent challengers. Victoria makes her way to the front row.
JUSTIN
Julia didn't really believe in my talent when we fought so I didn't get the whole welcome to Reborn, we kick ass speech. I know its not your style but-
FlORINIA
I'm afraid I'm not one to comply with such paltry wishes. It is not my method of teaching or combat to intimidate.
JUSTIN
Didn't think so.
FlORINIA
That isn't to say I am not thankful for your endeavours at the waste center or during our battle with the monster Tangrowth. However those alone fail to merit the awarding of a badge.
JUSTIN
I understand.
FlORINIA
So allow us to begin our exhibition. Follow carefully class. The subject lacks sufficient knowledge to achieve victory.
Justin looks on confused.
JUSTIN

FlORINIA
Expected outcome. Failure.
JUSTIN
(shocked)
W-was that smack talk? Did she just?...
(Justin is immediately amped up)
Blaze you're up.
Blaze ignites his palm before punching it then enters the sand covered battlefield. He sinks a little but moves around a bit.
JUSTIN
Careful. Sand limits motion.
(whispering)
See those rocks?
Blaze takes notice of the rocks and even the cacti.
JUSTIN
That's your best footing here. Make it work.
FlORINIA
Blaze, your initial partner from what I hear. Perhaps Breloom would be suitable.
Florinia throws out her first Pokémon which is the Mushroom boxer Breloom. Breloom wears a necklace with a large purple ball at its center. It shines brightly.
JUSTIN
Hey Flo, you wanna take the jewelry off?
FlORINIA
I doubt you'll be able to hit it.
JUSTIN
(sighs)
It just runs in the family huh. Blaze get to it. I'll chime in.
Blaze charges forward igniting his fists again upon reaching Breloom he begins wailing on the small mushroom mon which is far to slow or frail to fight at Blaze's level. Justin looks on in confusion.
JUSTIN
Is this bait? This feels like bait.
FlORINIA
Breloom drain punch!
The grass Pokémon launches a glowing dark fist but Blaze easily blocks it and parries with a kick to the chest accidentally breaking the purple gem. He throws up his hands and caws in an attempts to apologize. He looks up to notice that purple liquid is dripping down Breloom's chest and the Pokémon even drinks some of the liquid.
JUSTIN
Oh that's cute a little juice container.
FlORINIA
Breloom Dynamic punch.
Justin starts laughing.
JUSTIN
You think Blaze would ever allow that move to hit. In fact why would you even teach that
(sudden realization)
wait a minute!
Blaze begins to stagger before dropping to one knee in a coughing fit. From Blaze's perspective we see triples of the room and everyone in it. He struggles to stand and by the time he stands Breloom is at his chest with a fully charged Dynamic punch.
JUSTIN
BLAZE DEFEND!
Blaze throws up Protect at the last moment and the vicious blow is deflected by the white shield from his face to his torso. Upon contact we hear a rib break and Blaze is launched into a nearby boulder.
JUSTIN
Was that a toxic orb?
FlORINIA
Correct. By breaking it, a portion of its toxicity has been taken in by Blaze. With this field restricting mobility and the kicking up of sand combined with the poison, its safe to say that Blaze is not in for an easy fight even considering his typing.
JUSTIN
And I'm guessing that this is one of the rare Breloom with the ability-
FlORINIA
To turn toxins into nutrition. Yes Justin I know your team very well. Without the powerhouse of your team here I'd say this battle is far from something you can claim. Breloom, continue your assault with mach punch.
Breloom begins wailing down on a weakened Blaze with a series of high speed hits. After a long painful combo Blaze catches the Mushroom's fist and smiles.
JUSTIN
No energy attacks Blaze! You can't afford it.
Breloom starts throwing punches at close range but Blaze tanks the hits while his eyes are closed and he takes a deep breath.
FlORINIA
Breloom, remove yourself, his next attack will be dangerous.
Blaze's upperbody ignites and he bear hugs Breloom locking away any more attacks. He then charges into a boulder as the helpless grassling screams in pain. After collision with the rock Breloom drops out cold and is quickly recalled by Florinia.
FlORINIA
Blaze is a fair combatant on his own. I commend your efforts even in your weakened state. However your partner's failure to include a complete roster will be your undoing.
Blaze begins panting heavily and drops against the rock he previously crashed into.
FlORINIA
Torterra, come forward.
Florinia summons the second of her team. A large sand turtle with an immense tree and small boulders emerging from its back. Soldier attempts to enter the arena but is stopped by Justin who simply shakes his head.
JUSTIN
Alright Blaze, lets focus on keeping the distance and trying to overcome this poisoning okay bud?
Blaze nods and forces a weak smile.
JUSTIN
Attaboy.
FlORINIA
Torterra Sandstorm.
The mighty Torterra roars and a sandstorm quickly overtakes the field. Vision is distorted slightly in the field. Monitors drop down in front of the audience and overhead to allow people on the outside to view (to some extent) what is occurring on the battlefield. At the moment Torterra is attacking Blaze from a distance with its long vines. Blaze can only block with the poison flowing through his veins and the sand in his eyes.
JUSTIN
Forcing my hand Flo...
FlORINIA
My intention is to hold you as close to the ropes as possible.
Justin turns to the crowd.
JuSTIN
Hear that kids, your teach is kind of a freak.
Florinia turns away from the students blushing.
JUSTIN
Blaze. Get hot then defend.
On the screen we see Blaze jump in the air and release and overheat attack. The large whirlwind of sand turns into a storm of glass and flies all over the arena. Florinia is protected by a barrier but Justin is guarded by Soldier. When all the glass falls to the floor we see Torterra inside of its shell.
JUSTIN
You're welcome.
Blaze jets his way over to Torterra's shell and hops on top. He begins charging fire in both of his hands.
Florinia
Well played. I expect no less from you Justin.
JUSTIN
HA-DOOOOOO-KENNNNNNN
Blaze drops off the top of the shell in front of Torterra's face and releases a full powered Fire blast to the unsuspecting tortoise's face. The immense fire damage leaves residual flames all over the forest on its back rendering the Pokémon useless. Florinia recalls him.
FloRINIA
Time to control the field.
Blaze throws up more bile and Justin walks on to the field to carry him off.
JUSTIN
I'm switching out. This guy is a tad tuckered out. Soldier. You feelin' it?
Soldier gives a cool reassuring nod then slowly enters the sandy field.
FlORINIA
Cacturne, the field is yours.
JUSTIN
This normally goes without saying but killing them is off limits. Or even serious damage.
Soldier nods.
FlORINIA
Cacturne Destiny-
A puff of sand flies forward and lands on Florinia's feet, the next thing to grace her presence is the knocked out body of her cactus partner. The room stares in awe trying to comprehend what has just occurred. Soldier huffs in disappointment brushing off his right shoulder with his left arm blade.
JuSTIN
For those who missed it Soldier first class gave him a shoulder bump to the stomach. For those who wish to repeat it. Do plenty of squats.

So Onyx Trainer's School or OTS as the top dogs are calling it has a few challengers. J-Stunner, B-Eazy, Soldier 76 and Vicky V. On the opposing side we have bush gardens very own Fern and Florinia. Who will win this epic battle? (I'll be honest its a two parter) Who knows? Read and find out in this high stakes battle to return the school to the students. Justin, Blaze and Soldier have a lot to fend off but when battling the desert rose simplicity may be key. Welcome to Florinia's school for gifted youngsters.
Int. Onyx trainer's school
Justin, Blaze and Soldier are walking down a hallway full of sobbing teenagers and knocked out Pokémon. One of Fern's lackeys from earlier walks from the end of the hall he is guarding to confront Justin and company. A tall blonde pale skinned young man wearing all red.
Skylar
Yo Justin.
Justin raises his hands to stop Skylar from talking, then quickly takes a fighting stance.
SKYLAR
Look, I'd rather not fight you.
Justin
That's because losing isn't fun.
SKYLAR
(sighing)
Tim. Bring her out.
A moment after Skylar's order a couple of men force Victoria out of one of the rooms and into the hallway.
JUSTIN
Where are you going with this?
SKYLAR
Take her, leave and come back when Fern says its okay.
JUSTIN
Couple things. First she can probably beat the brakes off of all of you. Second, we're in your school so this is hardly a threat. And lastly, really need you to focus here.
Justin punches through the wall next to him revealing a portion of a girl's dorm.
JUSTIN
I really don't mind hitting any one of you guys. So you sure you want to give me a reason.
All of the fighters look nervous but take a deep breath when Victoria speaks up.
Victoria
Skylar.
SKYLAR
Yeah?
VICTORIA
Please let me reason with him.
SKYLAR
I... In the room and no funny business.
VICTORIA
Of course not.
Victoria goes into the nearby room and Justin cautiously follows. Blaze and Soldier remain outside. Blaze's watch starts ringing and we see Lucky is calling. The young foul shows Soldier his son before we cut to inside the room.
InT. girl's dorm
Justin and Victoria are inside the room sitting down at the community table.
JUSTIN
So why are you playing along?
VICTORIA
Originally just wanted to see my old room. Do you like?
Justin looks around the dorm at pictures of Victoria, Amaria, Julia, Florinia and another red haired girl.
JUSTIN
Must of been a fun time.
VICTORIA
It was. If you can believe even Fern was occasionally enjoyable.
JUSTIN
I cannot.
VICTORIA
His sister used to be so different. She was much kinder and more open. But then Titania happened.
JUSTIN
I'm guessing that's red over here?
Justin points at the only unfamiliar party in the photos.
VICTORIA
Correct. Tania always had well... A way with words.
JUSTIN
Hm. Why'd you leave?
VICTORIA
I was needed back on Apophyl. Things get out of hand from time to time.
JUSTIN
So then why take the league challenge?
VICTORIA
My sensei thought it would be good preparation. What made you take the challenge?
JUSTIN
My brother already beat the league by me so...
VICTORIA
He.. what?...
Victoria stares in disbelief.
JUSTIN
Oh yeah I have a brother. He sucks.
VICTORIA
Who exactly is your brother?
JUSTIN
Some jerk.
Justin turns away but Victoria simply walks in front of him.
VICTORIA

JUSTIN

Victoria is shocked by the reveal.
VICTORIA
Wait... THE LANCE?
JUSTIN
Don't give him "the" hes an "a" Lance at best.
VICTORIA
So you came all the way to Reborn so you could one up your brother?
JUSTIN
Yeah. He took out the lame league, so I'll conquer the awesome one...
(under his breath)
Didn't think I'd be fighting my own team rocket.
VICTORIA
Wow Justin. You really want to beat him.
JUSTIN
I beat him once.
VICTORIA
Blaze isn't your first Pokémon?
JUSTIN
(changing the subject)
Umm.... Sure why not. Anyway was there another reason you played along with Team Fern?
Justin gives a cheeky smile hoping to distract Victoria.
VICTORIA
Hmmm
(glaring at Justin)
Fern has a surprising amount of control of the going-ons here at OTS. The students are all so obedient because it affects the funding of their clubs. So losing to you actually hurts them severely.
JUSTIN
So we tell Flo. She owes me one.
VICTORIA
That may be why he's trying so hard to keep you away.
JUSTIN
So you're saying I shouldn't fight these guys?
VICTORIA
I think you could return control to the students by fighting but more importantly Skylar and the rest of the students actually think its hilarious how much you rile up Fern. So he asked if you could take him down and record it.
JUSTIN
Never have I known how much I love school until this moment. Vic.
Justin throws his Pokégear to Victoria. She quickly starts up a video.
JUSTIN
My name is Justin and welcome to Just-an-ass!
Justin and Victoria leave the dorm in a Crib's styled fashion.
JUSTIN
Whats going on Reborn this is OTS you know we represent and this is my campus. Top dog and cat at the same time J-stunner bout to teach the whole class how to live.
Justin walks by Soldier and Blaze who are now wearing sunglasses.
JUSTIN
This is B-Eazy and you know we got Soldier 76 doin work. The bodyguards always guarding Reborn's finest. We heard about some poser trying to take my throne and figured, lets teach em a lesson in class. Vic catch my subjects candid before the king comes in.
VICTORIA
Yes sir.
JUSTIN
She's my mental health advisor. Keeps me all feng-shui and ish.
Victoria heads down the stairs.
JUSTIN
So Skylar right?
SKYLAR
Yeah?
JUSTIN
Any requests?
SKYLAR
If he pisses himself I will gladly give you my trust fund.
JUSTIN
Got any rare candy. For Pokémon. Apparently I have to specify that in Reborn.
SKYLAR
I have a few.
JUSTIN
Send em to Seacrest's garden by Julia's gym and we're even.
SKYLAR

JUSTIN

InT. ONYX TRAINER'S SCHOOL lower Area
Justin heads down the stairs after Victoria. The students largely playing dumb to Justin's overacting in the school. Everyone goes about their business fully aware of what's to come. Finally Justin arrives at the entrance of Florinia's gym. Fern sits annoyed waiting for his only challenger.
JUSTIN
So this is the screw loose in the tool shed that calls himself... Uhhh. Shrub?... Bush?... Oak?
Fern
Fern.
JUSTIN
He's about to teach a master class in how to respect the top dog.
Justin stares into the camera.
JUSTIN
That's me in case you didn't know.
Fern takes a deep breath and approaches Justin.
FERN
I don't get you Justurd. Why do you always go out of your way to get slapped around. I tried to spare you humiliation and this is how you repay me. Fine. Just remember. I tried to help you.
Fern readies Pokéballs and summons his ace Serperior and Ferroseed.
JUSTIN
How about that. He actually managed to evolve two whole Pokémon. A world record for the world's worst.
FERN
Serperior, Ferroseed. Teach this novice a lesson.
Ferroseed spins wildly rushing towards Justin. He readies a kick like the previous encounter but changes at the last moment and grabs the spinning thorn Pokémon at the last moment. He then proceeds to slam it onto the ground, knocking it out.
JUSTIN
Oh my little grasshole. I've grown. You however have not. After I win today. You relinquish control of the student council to one of those idiots you had control the gate. Red was the only challenge so I say him.
FERN
Justin, if you actually manage to win, I will do just that.
JUSTIN
Why would you win Fern? You've literally never beaten me.
FERN
Because I'm the top god damn dog.
Justin sighs.
JUSTIN
Alright.
FERN
Serperior. Frenzy plant!
A large surge of thorned vines spike through the floor and Justin carefully dodges each one.
JUSTIN
WE JUST HAD A PLANT PROBLEM!
FERN
Serperior Iron tail.
The regal snake's tail lights up and it charges Justin to attack. Justin blocks the hammer-like tail but a puff of smoke reveals a substitute had been in effect.
JUSTIN
What?!
Justin looks around the room confused but is quickly ensnared by the powerful cobra wrapping its body around him.
FERN
You might think you had me all figured out but you didn't. Not using your Pokémon may have been the dumbest decision ever made.
JUSTIN
You missed my lecture earlier.
Justin laughs coyly.
JUSTIN
It was for Blaze and Soldier. I wanted them to see what their leader can do. And spoiler alert. Its anything.
FERN
Yeah sounds great. Serperior crush him until he decides to leave my school.
Serperior begins putting the squeeze on Justin whose countenance does not change.

This episode's song is devoted to Fern who believes in his world he is king. With Justin bringing the war to him I found a nice little gem from a music pal of mine. At any rate hope you all enjoyed. Just as Justin and Victoria make it inside a gate slams down in front of them with Fern sitting against a table next to two students. Above him is a large picture of Florinia and himself.

So what have we learned?
JUSTIN
(sighing)
Please don't monologue.
FERN
You shouldn't challenge people above you. You should know your place. You probably think that I'm doing this out of spite or to disrespect you Justin.
JUSTIN
Why would I ever think so lowly of the mighty Fern?
Fern begins to walk away. He snaps and the two men beside him rush out the other door.
FERN
Incompetence. You aren't very bright. But no Justin this isn't an attack on your intelligence or lack there of.
Justin takes another deep breath.
FERN
No Justin. This is a matter of class and simply put.
Fern is at the door to Florinia's gym.
FERN
You aren't worthy.
Fern is gone.
JUSTIN
NO. DON'T YOU DARE DO THE COOL GUY WALK AWAY! I DO THE COOL GUY WALK AWAY!
Victoria grabs Justin's hand and he calms down.
VICTORIA
Relax Justin. He's just trying to bait you. You'll still be able to challenge Florinia.
JUSTIN
(furious)
But Vic you saw him, he thinks he's cool now.
Fern peeps his head back in.
FERN
Vicky, I'll let you and the douche in easy if you blow me.
Fern winks before popping back out. Justin is triggered once again.
JUSTIN
FERN I HOPE YOU HEAR ME! I'M GOING TO BEAT EVERY SINGLE TRAINER IN THIS SCHOOL WITHOUT ANY OF MY TEAM FIGHTING. I SWEAR WITH MY BEAR HANDS WILL BEAT THEM AND YOU DOWN.
Justin begins to leave but Victoria grabs his shoulder, he quickly pivots throwing his arm around her and quickly closing in for a long kiss catching her off surprise.
JUSTIN
(angry)
I need to put him in his place. I'm sorry but patience will not work here. Then.
(briefly smiling)
We can enjoy our date.
Justin storms out of the O.T.S.
VICTORIA
(still in shock)
Yeah okay.
InT. sEACREST'S GARDEN
Justin bursts through the doors to see Luxcalibur greeting guests along with Rebecca.
Rebecca
Hey Justin, how have you been?
JUSTIN
Fantastic.
Justin storms right into the garden past the visitors.
JUSTIN
BLAZE! SOLDIER!
Both Pokémon make their way over to Justin.
JUSTIN
Blaze, you remember Fern?
Without missing a beat the young rooster enflames his arms and punches his palm.
JUSTIN
Good. Soldier, you ready to see your new team leader in action?
Soldier gives a light nod.
JUSTIN
Good. Let's go.
Justin and Blaze head for the exit but Soldier runs over to his son Lucky who is playing with some of the guests and Isabella. He pats his son on the head and bows before Isabella who simply rubs the Mantis soldier's head while smiling. Soldier then follows out after Justin and Blaze.
JUSTIN
Rebecca, if anyone unwanted comes, you call me immediately.
ReBECCA
We should be-
JUSTIN
GOT IT?!
REBECCA
(nervous)
Yes sir.
The three head out leaving behind a very confused Luxcalibur.
ExT. oNYX TRAINER'S SCHOOL O.T.S
Dozens of students and mid-level Pokémon fill the school yard. They all stare in anticipation of Justin, Blaze and Soldier who make their way towards the front gates.
JUSTIN
What I intend to teach you two is a simple lesson in power. Something ingrained in me by my friends, my family and my home in the violent Dragon-land of Blackthorn City.
One of the trainers sends out a Meganium which launches a vine whip that latches around Justin's arm. Though the large flower Pokémon attempts to pull at Justin its attempts are as fruitless as its flower petals..
JUSTIN
With what you witness today something should become painfully clear.
Justin reels in the giant grass type and kicks it into a nearby wall then proceeds to stand on the unconscious Pokémon's stomach.
JUSTIN
I am the ace of this team.
Blaze and Soldier look upon their leader with pride while the students are clearly in shock by what has taken place.
JUSTIN
You will simply watch until we reach Flo. I can't allow them to fight you- not out of spite.
Student
SCREW YOU!
JUSTIN
Its simply a matter of class. And you kids got some learnin' to do.

The patron makes his way to the garden but Luxcalibur growls and points to the sign in.

The man signs in and bows. Lux smiles and he makes his way to the garden. Lux continues smiling and wagging his tail, facing forward waiting for the next person to make their way in.

Its a relatively nice day outside. People are casually strolling down the main street in front of Grand Hall. Justin and Victoria make their way down the road.
JUSTIN
Its just now dawning on me that I'm kinda new here.
VICTORIA
With your adventures haven't you been all over the wards?
JUSTIN
Ironically no. First day I fought Team Magma.
VICTORIA
The day you met Blaze you dragged him into that?
JUSTIN
No he was sleeping after fighting a Klinklang and a hoard of Noibat. This girl Shelly actually helped me along with Lux.
VICTORIA
Sounds like a fun first day.
JUSTIN
Yeah...
Justin stops noticing the dark toxic lake in front of the Grand Hall. Victoria stops shortly afterward.
VICTORIA
This lake has seen better days.
JUSTIN
I don't get it.
VICTORIA
Team Meteor they-
JUSTIN
No Vic. Me, Flo, Julia and some other guy shut the factory down. This should be changing back but nothing.
VICTORIA
It may be some time before the waters clean up.
JUSTIN

VICTORIA
There's a lovely pier with a slightly less rough view of the lake.
JUSTIN

A small Lilipup rams into Justin's shin wildly barking and wagging its little tail.
JUSTIN

The small dog Pokémon races circles around Justin energetically barking and bumping into him.
VICTORIA
Seems a new Pokémon wants to be your friend.
Justin crouches down and pets the lively pup.
JUSTIN

VICTORIA

Without hesitation Justin reaches out to catch the puppy unawares but its already running towards Obsidia despite hearing its Owner's plea.

JUSTIN

Justin turns away looking at his watch. Victoria hits him in the side to encourage his assistance.
JUSTIN
Yeah we can't just leave a guy in need.

North Obsidia, he's been restless since the plant invasion and that's where I usually walked him. We should go before he starts bothering anyone else.
Victoria and the older gentleman race off after Lillipup.
JUSTIN

Justin raises a finger as if asking Arceus one more time before running after Victoria and the Man.
ExT. north obsidia
North Obsidia Ward is virtually untouched by devastation. People go about their business as if no problems have occurred. An arcade has a plethora of students playing outside and inside. The only oddity is the large amount of people.
MAN
Crowded today huh?
VICTORIA
Probably just trying to stay away from the vines.
MAN
Makes sense.
VICTORIA
Also the mall and the Onix Trainer's School.
MAN
Oh no I hope no one tries to catch doggo.
Justin makes it up the stairs into North Obsidia Ward. Once the trainers see him they all glare for a moment then slowly walk away.
JUSTIN
Ummmm... Nice to meet you too.
The owner and Victoria both look at Justin as if searching for his offense.
JUSTIN
Sup?
VICTORIA
(suspicious)
What did you do?
JUSTIN
(annoyed)
Besides save the City several times?
VICTORIA

MAN
HEY ITS Doggo!
The man pulls out his Pokéball and readies to throw it but Justin grabs the ball and minimizes it.
JUSTIN
Just a thought but if he constantly wants to run and explore maybe cooping him up wont help.
The man slowly puts his ball away.
JUSTIN
Just talk to your pal and join him on a run. He might be more likely to stay in range.
The man slowly walks up to the Lillipup and crouches down.
MAN
Hey Doggo. Wanna run around town?
The pup races around his owner excitedly.
MAN
Alright
(hesitantly)
Lets go
The Lillipup dashes ahead of his owner when they run.
MAN
Just stay close buddy.
The small pup barks as the two leave North Obsidia.
VICTORIA
That was easy.
JUSTIN
Yeah. I expected that to be the whole day.
VICTORIA
A little patience will go a long way.
JUSTIN
(smiling)

As Justin finishes his sentence Fern bumps into his shoulder as he walks down the street.
Fern
Move it idiot.
JUSTIN
Its gonna be this kind of day.
Fern stops walking and turns to see Justin and Victoria.
FERN
Well look what the fat Meowth dragged in.
Justin takes a deep breath.
JUSTIN
Patience. He'll pass.
Fern slaps Justin upside his head.
FERN
You know I can hear you fool.
Justin responds robotically to the small green man.
JUSTIN
I apologize Fern. I did not mean to offend you. Me and my friend will be on our way.
VICTORIA
(concerned)
Justin...
JUSTIN
Lets go Vic.
Fern runs in front of Victoria attempting to flex what little muscle mass he can.
FERN
I thought my eyes were playing with me. Vicky that you?
VICTORIA

Fern whistles obnoxiously.
FERN
Why the hell are you with this loser? You know I'm still single.
Justin feigns shock.
JUSTIN

FERN
Justurd, usually I'd engage but I don't want my zen squeeze to think I'm a brute like you.

Victoria grabs Justin's hand tightly.

Both men drop their jaws in disbelief.

Justin takes a monk-like stance, closing his eyes and preaching to Fern.

Fern throws a right hook to Justin's smiling jaw but he is unfazed by the smaller teen's attack.
JUSTIN

Before Justin can react Victoria punches Fern but a small shockwave is sent without her connecting to his body and he flies back several yards. Fern struggles to stand while coughing.
FERN
You think you can get away with disrespecting the top dog?
JUSTIN
Literally has not negatively affected me yet.
FERN
We'll see about that.
Fern scurries off down the road towards the large school in the back.
JUSTIN
Oh come on Fern, this isn't the first time someone has- wait Vic, how did you do that?
VICTORIA
I'll explain later.

InT. Magma base
Maxwell is sitting on his throne next to Momo his Magmortar. Only members of the team are in the base at the moment. Break, Darm and Chris are kneeling in front of the mad king waiting for him to speak.
Maxwell
Ya done fucked up. All of you.
Break
Apologies sir.
Darm
The fuck are you apologizing for?
BREAK
Failing to stop you.
Darm sucks his teeth.
DARM
Kiss ass.
MAXWELL
So since ya done fucked up ya gotta get punished. Break you're first.
BREAK
Yes sir.
Break stands and walks up to Maxwell.
MAXWELL
Your hand.
Break extends his arm without hesitation. Maxwell lightly slaps it.
MAXWELL
Hope you learned your lesson.
BrEAK
One I wont soon forget.
MAXWELL
You're dismissed.
Break leaves passing by an agitated Darm and Chris.
Chris
Is he literally going to spank us?
Darm shakes his head.
DARM
You're stupid.
MAXWELL
Next up Darm.
Darm lets out a heavy sigh and walks over to Maxwell.
DARM
Can we not be dramatic? Either kill me or hit me cause I got shit to do.
MAXWELL
Still got the fire?
DARM
Even after I start burning in hell.
Maxwell smirks.
MAXWELL
Iron hide... You're up. Darm turn around.
Darm turns around and takes his shirt off and bites down hard on it. As he does a pitch black Flareon walks from behind the throne. Its tail lights up in silver then catches flame before hitting Darm square in the back sending him about ten feet forward and knocking over several trash cans. He lays still in the garbage.
MaXWELL
Oh shit, did he die this time?
Chris looks on horrified. After a few moments Darm coughs and turns around laying on his back.
DARM
Thanks.
(he coughs a little more)
May I have another?
Maxwell claps and the other members of Magma team all cheer and roar for their teammates survival.
MAXWELL
You gonna fuck up again?
DARM
(scoffs)
I'm busy tomorrow but there's always the weekend.
MAXWELL

Darm slowly stands and limps out of the base.
MAXWELL

MAXWELL
Yeah well I like Kriz better, doesn't sound like some prissy rich kid. This is how this works. You shut up, walk up here, get punished, shut up again and go home until the next job. Its so simple even an Aqua could get it.

Chris reluctantly walks up to his new master.

The gargantuan fire beast steps forward shaking the ground.

Chris closes his eyes and drops his head in fear. Momo raises his arm and begins charging up a fire attack.
MaXWELL
Try to leave it in tact this time. I think I like this one.
Chris keeps his eyes shut and even begins to cry as he feels the heat emanating from the black hole that makes the Magmortar's arm cannon.
MAXWELL
Fire...
Chris lets out a small yelp but nothing happens. He opens his eyes to see Magmortar heating a cup of tea in Maxwell's hands. The sidelines are full of laughing members. Momo uses his free arm to raise Chris' hand and Maxwell slaps it as he did with Break.

Chris begins walking towards the door.

I'm going to get out of this group... I'm going to get Onix.... then I'm going to kill you and take your throne....
Chris turns to see Max and the members all cheerfully laughing and playing around.
ChrIS (V.O.)
You wanna fuck with high society... You better be ready to get fucked BY high society.
Chris leaves the Magma base.
EXT. seacrest's Garden
The garden is very peaceful and early in the afternoon. Blaze is reading while laying against a sleeping Luxcalibur. Isabella is cradling Lucky in another area of the garden. Justin and Soldier are standing at a table looking over what appears to be battle plans and formations. Seacrest is nervously looking around the garden and inside the main hall. Nancy is in the main pavilion talking to a few men and women dressed rather well. She says her goodbyes to the group as they leave and she makes her way to a clearly distracted Seacrest.
Nancy
Mr. Seacrest, you seem weary. Is something bothering you?
Seacrest
Too damn quiet. We've been under attack so many times I guess I'm just nervous.
NANCY
Perhaps you should take the day off. Rebecca said she would be coming today. Why not let her run things here.
SeACREST
I suppose it couldn't hurt. What about you?
NANCY
I figured I would join you. I've been meaning to go to the Lapis ward market.
SEACREST
That sounds lovely. Shall we?
NANCY
Don't you want to wait for Rebecca?
SEACREST
The boy can handle it for an hour.
Seacrest holds his arm out and Nancy latches on gently.
SEACREST
Boy! You're in charge. This place better still be standing when I get back.
Seacrest leaves. Outside we see Justin and Soldier engrossed with their work. Soldier hears the door slam and nudges Justin.
Justin
Yeah I'll clean it in a minute.
After a few moments Victoria walks into the garden. It doesn't take her long to reach Justin.
JUSTIN
This all really loops back to if she's poison. I gotta admit though even though Cain hasn't said anything I'm thinking he's the poison leader. If she's grass then this strategy is safe. Blaze burns the field so that they wont ingrain meaning no setup or still defense. We keep her mobile and with her ace probably being Venasaur mobility is the last thing she'd need.
Victoria
Oooh Justin's battle plan.
Justin turns and waves before immediately turning back.
JUSTIN
Hey Vic. After Julia I figure every leader is going to have a modified field. Meaning the ones that will give me the most trouble will be Poison and Fire gyms since they'd wear the team down. Grass will probably been a meadow or something she can use to build up power to cover Grass' weak offense. The damn type is so balanced though so-
VICTORIA
You go over this with your Pokémon.
Justin raises his hand to correct her.
JUSTIN
My team. And yes, Everyone learns all strategies so when I can't think they can for themselves. First is type effectiveness which Luckily Luxcalibur only has one problem and Soldier was taught this during the war... Long shot but did you have Surge as a teacher?
Soldier shakes his head then growls into his device. It reads back to Justin "subordinate"
JUSTIN
Well damn. This should actually go smoothly.
VICTORIA
Justin are you forgetting something?
Justin ponders for a moment before his watch lights up with the word date. He jumps at the shock.
JUSTIN
Our date!... I mean, yeah of course I remembered. Garcon'
Justin snaps and Soldier flash steps in and out bringing flowers when he returns.
JUSTIN
Milady.
Victoria raises an eyebrow and Justin's sudden shift in demeanor.
VICTORIA
Thank you Soldier. If only your teammate could be as thoughtful.
JUSTIN
At least 2 or 3 times as thoughtful. Soldier, we'll continue later bud.
Soldier nods and proceeds towards Isabella and Lucky.
VICTORIA
Shall we?
JUSTIN
After you.
Justin follows Victoria out. Before he's gone he yells out.
JUSTIN
Lux! You're in charge. Make sure the building is in tact when I get home.
Justin is gone. Luxcalibur lightly taps his tail on Blaze's head who stands up and goes to sit against a nearby tree. Luxcalibur walks to the main desk sits in front of it. He quickly bolts up with an idea and runs behind the desk. After a few moments he scurries back out and has a sign around his neck with the word "welcome" crudely drawn on it with his paw prints around the borders. A park regular walks in.

Justin and company are at the front door to Seacrest's garden with Seacrest angrily staring at a smirking Justin and Luxcalibur.
JUSTIN

SEACREST
YOU WANT TO PARTY?! YOU MISSED ANOTHER ATTACK!
JUSTIN
(concerned)
Who was hurt?
SEACREST
NO ONE BUT!
Justin is back to smirking.
JUSTIN
Who. Was. Hurt?
SEACREST
Anyone could have easily been-
JUSTIN
Pops pops. Simple question. Need you to answer it to the best of your ability.
Seacrest grunts.
JUSTIN
Who. Was. Hurt.
Seacrest glares angrily but the next shot is the garden full of energy. Everyone who stayed behind after the fight along with the warring underground families and Clean are at the party. Justin and Cain are harassing Florinia and Victoria.
CAIN
So this almost good-looking guy wants to talk to you Victoria.
JUSTIN
Woah C-money. I'm just your average Terrorist fighting, good looking, gym beating, badass. I don't need special treatment.
ViCTORIA
Of course not. So I wont give you any.
Victoria and Florinia walk away and talk to Clean. Justin and Cain go over to Seacrest. Justin's arm is over Cain's shoulder. The two are clearly inseparable at the moment.
SEACREST
I hate you.
JUSTIN
He says that every day. I still haven't paid rent so don't worry.
SEACREST
You missed another attack.
JUSTIN
I'm sorry. I really am. I didn't think- BLAZE. WHERE IS MY BOY
SEACREST
Walking Nancy home.
JUSTIN
Did he get hurt?
Seacrest looks at Justin's broken hand.
SEACREST
I feel as though that shouldn't be your primary concern.
Isabella walks over to Justin and begins healing his hand.
JUSTIN
Don't exhaust yourself Izzy. I'll-
Isabella slaps him and continues healing.
JUSTIN
Ummm. I was just trying to help-
Isabella punches Justin in the mouth.
JUSTIN
What the heck Izzy?
Blaze is seen on the edge of the garden laughing hysterically.
CaIN
So you fight terrorists but lose to Psychic types.
Cain and Seacrest laugh.
JUSTIN
Yeah so do you smartass.
Cain has an epiphany.
CaIN
Oh right.
Everyone laughs.
JUSTIN
Izzy. Seriously, don't over exert yourself.
Blaze walks over and plucks Justin's head. He caws slowly and subtly. Seacreast pats Blaze on the back as he heads inside.
JUSTIN
Sorry. Thank you for your help. I appreciate all assistance for this broken man.
Isabella smiles and hugs Justin then continues healing her new friend. Blaze sits next to his partner.
JUSTIN
So you bodied REDTEAM huh?
Blaze arrogantly rubs his chest then blows on his claws.
JUSTIN
Yeah yeah. Blaze I'd like you to meet a few people since we finally have a break. First is Cain. Cain's dope.
Cain throws his arm around Blaze and hands him a drink.
CAIN
Oh my god. I-
JUSTIN
Its coo.
CAIN
Oh then enjoy.
Blaze indulges.
JuSTIN
Thoughts?
Blaze throws up a thumb.
CAIN
Obviously.
Cain's phone begins to ring.
JUSTIN
Don't do it.
CAIN
Sorry
Cain answers his phone.
CaIN
(loudly)
Its my super overweight sister. She needs support at the gym to lose weight to distract from her club foot.
(now focusing on the phone)
Hey sis what's up?
Cain leaves. Blaze sits down in one of the nearby recliners.
JUSTIN
So bud how did you lead the charge against the flaming offensive?
Blaze outstretches his free hand and waves through the sky as he caws boldly. He sets his beer down and Isabella quickly snatches his seat. He puffs out his chest and takes a great breath.
JUSTIN
I don't know where this clown gets this stuff.
As Justin finishes his comment, Victoria walks over. Justin bolts up with his chest fully puffed out and his voice deepens for his conversation.
JUSTIN
Hey Vick.... uhhh hows it hanging?
VICTORIA
Just letting you know me and Florinia are heading out.
JUSTIN
Shame. You're missing out on the activities.
VICTORIA
I'm sure. Perhaps tomorrow we can make up for lost time?
Justin's voice returns to normal and his chest falls in his excitement.
JUSTIN
Yeah-yeah-yeah...
(regaining composure)
I mean, sounds coo. Maybe we should exchange numbers.
VICTORIA
Already got yours.
Victoria casually walks away, meeting Florinia by the exit.
JUSTIN
But how?
Justin turns to see Luxcalibur in the back of the garden waving his paw and pointing to his communicator. Justin throws a thumbs up while smiling.
JUSTIN
I love you guys so much.
Justin sits down in a chair to see a widely grinning Blaze and Isabella.
JUSTIN
Sorry kids. Mom and dad had to talk. Continue.
Blaze enflames his arms as he dances, the scene silences as he caws and performs the story of his epic battle. The scene slowly fades to black as both Justin and Isabella look on in amazement.
ExT. SEACREST'S GARDEN Morning
The morning is new with the light just breaking in certain areas of the garden. Many of the Pokémon still slumbering from the night before. Blaze and Isabella are asleep in recliners. Luxcalibur is half-awake with Lucky completely passed out nestled beside him. In the center of the garden Justin and Soldier are doing one-handed push ups.
JUSTIN
Fun to finally have a challenger for this. Blaze is strong enough but his balance is still crap.
For the first time it seems Soldier is enjoying physical activity instead of just getting through it.
JUSTIN
You at two hundred for this arm yet?
Soldier nods. Both stand and shake themselves off.
JUSTIN
I'd like to make a little wager.
Soldier looks curiously upon his challenger.
JUSTIN
I win, you come with me to tackle Flo- 50-50 got she's grass or poison. If she's grass, Lux isn't the best match-up. If you win, you name it.
Soldier points to Luxcalibur.
JUSTIN
You can't have Lux.
Soldier shakes his head and points again to Luxcalibur's paws.
JUSTIN
Oh the weights. Win or lose I can get you those. Isn't there something nice you want? Cmon man sky's the limit.
Soldier looks around pondering.
JUSTIN
How about a shiny stone? It'll help Lucky reach his last form. Ya know for when he gets older.
Soldier shrugs, clearly uninterested before entering his stance. Justin sighs before entering his pulling out the three wooden poles usually holstered to his side. He attaches them to each other forming one solid three foot pole.
JUSTIN
Alright, don't you go holding back on me.
The two clash several times with Soldier's blade arms and Justin's wooden pole. One last clash leads them to a face to face smiling encounter before the screen cuts to black.

I understand the frustration of not being able to get a project out when you really can't wait to see anything but its completion but with all the work you and the team have done over the years and the finish line being so clearly in sight, safe to say you are all good. Love the wall paper and all the work that's been done. Keep up the good work.... and at a pace that wont wear you all down.
