Trivia Time: Swinub has the lowest base stat total of all Ice Types. The only time Swinub's eyes have been seen open was during the battle between Pryce and Erika in the Pokemon Adventures Manga when Pryce tells his to dodge Erika's Skiploom's attack. Swinub is one of the few Pokemon to have the same sprite in Gold and Silver.

Swinub is the only Pokemon that can be resistant to damage from all types of weather effects, including Shadow Sky, without the aid of an ability. In HeartGold and SoulSilver's coding, it's revealed that Swinub has Mud Shot listed as a "new HGSS" Egg Move, but it could already learn this move by breeding since Gen III. Swinub and its evolutions are the only Pokemon that are weak to the types of all three Starter Pokemon.

Trivia Time: Magcargo is the only Pokemon to be obtainable in every Generation III game, including Pokemon Colosseum and XD. It's also obtainable in every Generation II and IV game, making Black and White the first main games since its debut where it cannot be obtained. Trivia Time: Ursaring and Donphan, along with their pre-evolutions, are the only Pokemon to swap version exclusiveness between localizations. This is corrected in the remakes, HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Ursaring's number of claws have changed over time and between canons. In its original artwork, Ursaring has four visible claws, however, in its HeartGold/SoulSilver artwork, it has five. In the Generation II games, it has three claws. From Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire up to and including Platinum, it has four claws. From HG/SS it has five. In the anime it's always had five.

Trivia Time: No other Pokemon has the same type combination as Sneasel and its evolved form, Weavile (Dark/Ice). Sneasel has the highest base Speed of all Pokemon that can evolve, at 115. In Pokemon Gold and Silver, Sneasel's skin color was brown with turquoise feathers. This was rectified in Pokemon crystal to match the official artwork.

Shuckle has the highest base Defense stat of all Rock and Bug types.

If I evolve a Nidorino at Level 43, will it get Earth Power, or will it have to go to the Move reminder to get it?

Trivia Time: The route that Snubbull swarms in Diamond, Pearl and Platinum is also its National Dex Number: 209. In early merchandise for Mewtwo Strikes Back, including the Pikachu's Vacation novelization, Snubbull's name is misspelled as "Snubble". This is also true in the title card for Snubbull's Snobbery. Lastly, Snubbull is named "Buru" in the Pokemon the First Movie Trading Cards set.
