TL;DR: spread move damage reduction is carrying over between turns because the instance variable to make it work mid-turn if a KO occurs is not turning off in certain situations.
Rest of the thread goes into detail.
Alright. Let's set the scene here a bit. A double battle occurs. Two Conkeldurrs, up against a Lunala and Necrozma-Dawn Wings on Holy Field. Our intrepid trainer, Torre, uses a Guts, field boosted Return to take the Necrozma out cleanly as per our lovely damage calc.
QuoteLvl 145 252 Atk Conkeldurr Retaliate vs. Lvl 145 252 HP / 0 Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dawn-Wings: 516-607 (90.2 - 106.1%) -- 37.5% chance to OHKO
However;
SpoilerIt fails to reach the KO we desire. Confused, Torre goes to try out Knock Off.
QuoteLvl 145 252 Atk Guts Conkeldurr Knock Off vs. Lvl 145 252 HP / 0 Def Prism Armor Necrozma-Dawn-Wings: 447-528 (78.1 - 92.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
Still no dice.
We spend some time discussing it and he decides to run a few tests because, clearly, something is going wrong. And eventually spots the issue;

I was watching a battle vs a certain dragon-type gym leader snd the battler used stealth rock. To my surprise, the gym leader's Charizard had tainted automatically when it was switched in, Does the dragon field increase tyee effectiveness of stealth rocks or did I miss something,
field must've been changed to cave and on there, stealth rocks damage is 2x.

neither of these are bugs, but simply esoteric mechanics that are canonical to the games.

this was reported previously and the AI is aware of this, however the issue is that the AI likely does not have anything that can reasonably switch into Tsareena, given it likely being a Bishop(+1 atk) and then the QM damage boost on top.

do you have the big top field readout?

Hi all. I managed to get up to the Elite 4 and I was wondering if there is anything I should know about/look out for before heading in?
This is the team I've used all the way up to this point (Mawile was recently added/only IV trained) and I would like to keep using them if possible.
I also have the "litemode" password enabled since I heard that makes Reborn kind of have an Easy Mode.(And in extreme cases ((or that I just suck)), I also use the "leveloffset" password if I can't win a battle with whatever Pokemon team I have. Is it okay to use this password? I only put it around -5/10 and I feel kind of bad for using it. I do turn it off after the specific battle though.)Well that's all I wanted to ask about. If any of you have tips, I greatly appreciate it. :) (PS: I'm mostly a casual player if that has any importance? I just like to see the story and not want to get stressed over the battles. Though I am guessing these up-coming fights will be stressful lol, but it's end-game! Don't have to worry as much.)
passwords exist to be used; there's no shame in using them if you believe it'll make the experience more enjoyable.
for a more casual player; i would suggest stocking up on items if need be and making sure that you have the field readouts for the following on hand to look to if you're needing to strategize;
SpoilerMountain, Snowy Mountain, Flower Garden, Burning Field, Rainbow Field, Holy Field, Psychic Terrain, Starlight Arena, New World
as they are the most likely natural variations of fields that will pop up during your Elite Four challenge.
Beyond that; make sure to have any tutor moves you think you'll need on your pokemon as you enter, as you will not be able to go back to reteach them once you enter the Pokemon League. Same goes for relearnable moves; Fake Out on Persian or Meowstic for example can be invaluable to have.
Hope that helps some!

did you try going out the entire way and then going back inside? this happened to a friend as well, and it seemed to be accounted for.

Using Future Sight and then using Ally Switch with the same pokemon makes it so the pokemon that now switched out loses its item. You do get the item back after the battle. As extra information helpful if trying to recreate, I was using Reuniclus with Regenerator holding a Metronome on Factory Field and recreated it twice . Tried only Ally Switch and it doesn't make you lose the item. Tried testing it on Cave field and it didn't occur.
Edit: tried it on Grassy Terrain vs Noel and it happened again, seems to be only happening in trainer battles and not against wild pokemon.can i have your savefile to test this with? tried this out with my delphox in a variety of conditions and was not able to recreate it

are you sure you're not mega-ing by accident or getting burnt? mega steelix has sand force, not sturdy.

What the title says. I don't know if I'm just misinterpreting the Field Notes or what, but while fighting Serra in the Mirror Field, I switched my Aggron (holding a Synthetic Seed) in against her Lapras, the evasion buff is applied, but then when it hit with Signal Beam, there was no Mirror Coat effect in sight.
Spoilerits magic coat, not mirror coat, typo in the field notes

most people i'd nom have already been nommed so i'm just nominally nomming @Felix~ for 4. Carmen Sandiego lest they appear while I slumber and take me out for good.

Most cases of illegal moves tend to be unintentional; Dreamy hit the nail on the head with their assessment of what happened here.

I was experimenting with setups in the Glitch field for Saki's gym and found it weird that the Bastiodon's Super U.M.D. move deals nearly 70% of my Venusaur's HP at +4 defense and special defense. At this point, Venusaur's defense is about two times higher than Bastiodon's attacking stat aka special defense). I'm not sure how to explain this fact other than the possibility that it ignores target stat modifier like Darkest Lariat. Any idea how this move works?
known bug, already fixed in a hotfix a couple of days ago. grab the _move file attached for it to function properly

I tried placing the files in the proper location but it doesn't seem to work? All I get is a Debug Menu when I select the Pokemon Party menu
Go to the relearner and have it select a Pokemon. Then check that Pokemon in the party menu, and it should have a 'Remind' function in there.
