  1. Fern says something alone the lines of "You're a real thorn in my side, ya know?"
  2. Alright, makes sense. So Ame predetermines the HP type of the important trainers, but that also makes me wonder; wouldn't a rock/ground type make a good wall against noel then? Minccino has bullet seed, but other than that I didn't see him use anything that would be good against that type, and his normal STAB moves would do .75x damage, 1.5x for STAB and 1/2 for hitting a rock type. a HP type of ground would be 2x effective towards rock, and also cover the steel type. Also, Noel's team doesnt know hyper voice IIRC, but I might've not seen their full moveset. I know that his minccino knows rock blast, bullet seed, (tail?) slap, and HP, and his porygon-Z knows discharge (f*ck you empoleon), HP, Tri attack, and psychic. I'm also surprised at how there wasn't a ghost type coverage? at least I didnt see one... I dunno, Noel in general just seems a bit strange to me... oh well.
  3. comparing damage between super effective HP against normal effective STAB; STAB is 1.5x, super effective is 2x. So if the power of the moves were the same, the HP would do more damage. Unless there's something else I don't know about...
  4. Okay.. but every single one of them ;-; ? Noel was almost as much of a nightmare as Kiki and her 100% accurate high jump kicks. It still feels like I cheesed Kiki by using protect to force her to miss....
  5. Okay, but Noel having fire doesnt make a ton of sense, considering normal is weak to fighting. Shouldn't he have a psychic or flying hidden power type? I know his porygon-z knows psychic, and he has a girafarig and a swellow (I think). Ah well, Fern's Roserade ended up getting beat by a Klingklang using gear grind xD.
  6. I just had a question, and I didn't exactly know where to ask it, but... How does the hidden power type get chosen for the AI trainers? Is is random? Is it pre-set? I was just curious, because for some reason... EVERY SINGLE ONE HAS FIRE, WHICH IS ULTRA ANNOYING ON A MONOSTEEL RUN.
  7. way to go ahead and tell him where it is
  8. Opal and peridot are large areas. My processor is like 3.8 GHz, and I was getting minor lag in *forgets name* the jungle where you get locked up by the nuzleafs
  9. Yeah, taking on gym leaders was pretty ridiculous. Especially the way we had ours set up, it started out fine, where gym leaders had different levels, ex. grass was 20-30, etc, but then, people learned how to use lava to boost pokemon levels, so instead of fixing the problem, the gym leaders suddenly got level 80+ pokemon. As a moderator, I honestly didn't care, but players were pretty upset. Overall its a nice idea for a mod, and fun to mess around with, but it gets pretty boring. TM'd moves are also upsetting, our server had an elite four challenge, the winner of which would receive a mewtwo (which had just been implemented into the mod). So they gave 4 of the admins level 100 'mons, and built the arena blah blah blah. Well, one admin, instead of building, flew into the middle of nowhere, and spawned in pokemon to EV train his perfectly, spawned TMs and set up everything. He was also the dragon leader >.> Nothing pissed me off more than getting outspeeding by his gyarados (with my jolteon) to have it use Earthquake, a move it doesn't learn naturally. And then barely lose to his charizard while using flygon. Kinda ruined my day, but w/e xD doesn't matter any more
  10. Okay, didnt know that, but thats still only one pokemon. Good luck beating the first gym leader with one pokemon, it would be pretty difficult, especially when you have to use 1 move to set up hail
  11. @jotwas the problem would then become having a pokemon that can use hail. There are only really a few types available early game, which bars out a lot of montype runs. Unless we added Eevee and Pikachu to the starters (You and your rival's starter in pokemon yellow would justify it )
  12. @Can't Type I think low kick works by weight classes, so if your poke is between the set parameters to be classified in the "lightest" group, then low kick does X damage. If your pokemon is in the "heaviest" group, then it does YX amount of damage. Since aggron is already in heaviest, making him heaver will do nothing. I'm not sure though, you might want to wiki it?
  13. Poison monotype seems like its done pretty frequently, so you should be able to get some nice advice from previous threads about it. It would be worth surfing the forums a bit
  14. Darn, just as I was about to suggest an all steel type team. Aya is pretty much useless vs. all steel EDIT: I have a serious question: does Ame pre-set the hidden power types of gym leaders/random trainers? or does the game set their hidden power type? Because I swear, its very odd that EVERY SINGLE ONE of Noel's pokemon have the hidden power type of Fire. Was that pre-determined? or did the game look at my team and say: its all weak to fire? Its insanely frustrating that I should be able to beat him, but any one of his pokemon can 1 shot mine with hidden power, and I keep having to reset to try and get a run where he doesnt use hidden power. EDIT2: Finally beat Noel, he only used hidden power once >.> EDIT3: Anyone wanna guess what Fern's Roserade's hidden power type is? >.>
  15. I figured out that the AI was using dark pulse because all of my pokemon are steel, and it wont use a move that's "not very effective" so it goes to dark pulse. I was able to finally beat him by starting empoleon, who can tank through 1 dark pulse, and making him use bubblebeam for damage. Then aqua jet, so that he hits first. Change to Steelix, then he holds on with sturdy, and gets off 1 crunch, which happened to lower defense (thanks RNGesus). Then I swapped out one of my steels for a fairy type that you get for free, can't remember the name. But since dark is not very effective to it, abra uses hyper beam. Then I send in Escavalier, who used X-Scissor to drop abra to red zone (his attack is insane, level 55 and its 211). He was able to tank 1 dark pulse with 9 HP remaining, allowing him to finish abra off with another X-Scissor. Overall, it was just a strategy thing, but thanks for the help . EDIT: I swear Ame is evil, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF NOELS HIDDEN POWER TYPES IS FIRE. WHY? But seriously, is it somewhere in the script set so that hidden power is always super effective against your team? Because I swear, I'm pretty tired of watching my pokemon get 1 shot by hidden power because "the grass beneath X caught flame". If it came from just one of his pokemon, fine, but when every single one of them have fire? That's pretty frustrating
  16. That depends on the trainer, my friend
  17. That feel when it's 3 AM christmas morning and what am I doing? Playing pokemon reborn... xD
  18. I used to moderate one of the largest pixelmon servers. Got pretty boring after a while, but I started when they only had gen 1-2 pokemon, and when I stopped they were adding gen 5-6. It's pretty fun once you start out, but IMO it gets boring
  19. Steven the Steel trainer looks pretty good right by Serra I ship it
  20. So, I was digging around in pokemon reborn's files, and I found out that the png for terra is trainer068.png. I see a missed oppourtunity here, because if you look: She could easily be #69, which would definitely fit her character. CMOOOOOOOON
  21. With a monograss run you're going to have a lot of early game difficulties, looking at Corey and Cain... and Aya....
