Been researching which Mario Party to play with my friend later tonight, and the internet consensus is that 2 is the best. If it dissapoints, it'll be the THIRD time you internet folks told me an N64 game was the best thing ever and I ended up hating it.
I mean... I think most say that's the best since it was hard for Mario Party to truly innovate much more past that. It was the one that put out items etc etc... and really was what set the Mario Parties up to at least before the weird Car...based ones...
