Um, if they don't announce the next game soon, or at least at E3, we're gonna assume the rumors are true and there really will be a Pokemon Yellow remake for the 20th anniversary next spring. If that's the case, you better mentally prepare yourself for for mega Pikachu.
I love raichu. I always felt sorry for the poor guy, always overshadowed by pikachu. But giving a middle stage form a mega before its final form gets one (if it even does) is just too much.
I was under the impression that only Fully Evo'd/ Pokemon that have no Evo at all were even eligible to be considered for Mega Evolution. I mean, look at the pattern, that's how it's worked so far, so it would make no sense to so blatantly break it.
