Half-hour doodle. I don't understand how I can do shit like this without really giving a bother but I can't actually work on my projects to save my life. I swear it has to do with my frame of mind.

Ok, so, after reading your post I went back and made a couple of revisions to the places that were called out. I didn't use some of the exact examples you provided but I did edit the piece with a few of my own bits, like where you mentioned the red aura, I changed it to say "red haze," thinking it conveyed a dirtier, more evil-in-general feel to the situation. Grammar correcting aside, the one part of your feedback I really wanted to address was the last part in where you mentioned my use of the word "ineffectivey." I might throw in an illustration or two with the chapters, but that's only if I can find a way to make it fit in not awkwardly.

The story revolves a young boy set in a medieval fantasy world setting, who's best/only friend and love interest suddenly vanishes. He then dedicates his life to finding her and returning her home, encountering many strange and new circumstances and people as he goes. Today I posted the introductory piece, but the story will be better started out on my next update with the "Prologue" chapter. Kind of a vague description but I'd like for more of the themes and events to unfold as the story continues.

I take back everything I said about writing being easier than drawing. Turns out I'm just as nitpicky with each as I am with the other.

It takes finesse and patience. Actually, both pratices do. However, drawing takes more in knowing how light, shading, etc works and how that interacts with objects, and a lot of spacial reasoning. Where as writing you need to be able to bring out emotions and evoke what a drawing does, with words. Neither craft can be really compared to the other as they as very different mind spaces.

I just layered a bunch of reds to yellows to whites over each other and used photoshop's smudge tool to kinda just wisp them along. I've been putting them in a lot of more scenic drawings I've been doing lately cuz I find this method incredibly easy.

I'm learning about this foreign concept of having outlines that aren't solid black and it's just kinda blowing my mind in general. Still not as good at it as I wanna be yet but I'm learning at least.

Hi, this forum looks like a lot of fun and I wanna try it. I'm Will. A long time ago I used to make drawings and webcomics on this site avidly, but as time passed I succumbed more and more into laziness and other real-life responsibilities, leaving my works unfinished. I'd like to possibly start my writing habits back up and would like to use this forum to practice. I'd say most of my strengths involve my visual works with my stories; illustrations that help convey moods and actions. I'm most comfortable with fantasy/action oriented stories over other genres but I feel I could hold my own in

So I, as many of you probably foresaw, hadn't yet put much into COMET+ production. Truth is I haven't had a lot of time to do so, mainly because of college and other life choices involving my potential moving out of state. I've been stressing out like crazy with classes and I'm planning to take a break before returning for another semester. That said, once I get personal life issues out of the way (hopefully by some time mid-December) I'll try my hardest to actually start...

One of my biggest issues involving production is that I'm at a standstill with deciding the style in which the illustrations will be made. I had planned on watercolors, colored pencil drawings, photoshop colorings, etc, but nothing really seems to shine correctly to the intended serious nature of the story. With such, once I make a solid decision on that I should be able to produce content easier knowing I have proper plans for such execution.

The first piece of my new story COMET+ is now out in The Radio Tower! You can find it pinned where +Infinitas once stood. Since it's the introductory piece, it is much shorter than chapters that will come later, so stick around for more chapters coming soon!

Since I'm smart and decided to make the initial illustration for COMET+ so giant, I'll hold off on posting that specific one until later into the story. That does mean, however, that I’ll finally be able to post the introductory piece of the story. Keep your eyes open for the new “COMET+” topic in the Radio Tower sometime tomorrow!
