  1. Fairy Tail Episode 30: how dangerous could a play (as in, in a theatre) possibly get?

  2. Does this game have an offline mode, or is it multiplayer only? Because it looks good, but with my horridly shaky internet connection, I cannot take part in a multiplayer game...
  3. Mind you, Reborn's formula has its merit. And Reborn can afford following it on the account of having A LOT more gym leaders (more than twice as many in fact). We, however, have only 8 gyms, so we must be careful about how we handle them. Believe me when I say, finding the perfect balance was a pain, and there are still some details on which we argue to this day.
  4. Mainly because, as you can see in the map of the region (it's in the OP), there are vast empty areas, that is, areas without a town, meaning that great distances separate the gyms from one another. To deal with such an environment in a way that could allow us to avoid making gym-less episodes, we had to come up with ways to split such large areas between episodes, instead of forcing you people to cross them in one go. You'll see what I mean when you play Ep 2.

I am marathoning them, yes. If you check, I have made a status per episode so far, and I have all the intentions of trucking on ;)

  6. Well, one thing we are particularly proud of is how every gym leader of our region does somwthing outside of their gym, not only in terms of "taking part in the plot", but also in terms of "having an occupation that fits in the overall theme of their respective cities". So yeah, I am sure you won't be disappointed on this regard EDIT: and as far as the actual battling goes, this second gym is going to feature the Pokemon with the third highest base Atk in the region, after the previous one had featured the one with the single highest base HP... So yeah, if you thought it would get any easier, think again
  7. Fairy Tail Episode 28: how can Mystogan eat apples without removing the scarf that covers his mouth?

  8. Fairy Tail Episode 27: both Gajeel and Natsu get to do the "shadowed face and glowy red eyes" thing in this episode. I am still pissed that, to this day, Wendy never got to do the same.

  9. Fairy Tail Episode 26: not as glaring as future instances, but this is the first time nakama power is explicitly brought up in the middle of a battle. Admittedly in a losing effort, but I guess this is where the trend started

  10. My problem with that, Nick, is that Keldeo can smash Chansey, which is more than I can sy about any other special attacker in the game. Oh sure, Psyshock hits the blob's weak stat as well, but it is not supereffective. And while it is true that locking yourself into a Fighting-type move that hits Def makes it easy for cores that include Skarmory and Sableye, it is also true that a scarfed Psyshock would have the same problem while still not hitting as hard. So yeah, I'd rather go LO Keldeo, or come up with some other idea for the defogger, than lose Keldeo or make it a non wallbreaker set (SubCM kinda defeats the point of this project <.< )
  11. Fairy Tail Episode 25: nearly halfway through the Phantom arc, and we already get the opening and ending of the Tower of Heaven arc. Also Juvia's long tale of unrequieted love begins!

  12. Fairy Tail Episode 24: more details on Lisanna. Something tells me I'll be ranting about this a lot throughout the series.

  13. Fairy Tail Episode 23: GIANT MECHAS

  14. Fairy Tail Episode 22: when Lucy's family became a plot point.

  15. Fairy Tail Episode 21: Phantom arc finally begins, after the opening had been foreshadowing it for some 10 episodes. Also Juvia looks completely different from her 2014 incarnation.

    1. Komodojoe

      Komodojoe

Yeah... from what I've noticed recently, quite a few series of anime end up having their openings foreshadow something, so I usually skip the intro just to be safe. It isn't much of a plot twist if you already know about it.

    2. Felicity

      Felicity

The whole point of foreshadowing is that it encourages active thinking and trying to puzzle out what it could be foreshadowing. Ignoring it defeats that purpose entirely

    3. Tomas Elliot

      Tomas Elliot

Well but the problem here is that, in early seasons, Fairy Tail would actually change openings in the middle of an arc. So like, you are watching an arc, but the opening already is about the next one.

  16. Fairy Tail Episode 20: the episode that begins the great build up of Lisanna's character, possibly one of the best such build ups in all anime. WSo what did they do with a character that had such a solid backstory upon eventually bringing her back after Edolas arc? Why, a whole bunch of nothing of course!

    1. Felicity

      Felicity

There were like, two memories of her shown before she appeared again.

    2. Tomas Elliot

      Tomas Elliot

My beef is with the fact that Lisanna's death was built up as a pivotal moment in Natsu's life. Then Hiro went through some absurd ass pulls to retcon her into being alive, only to do absolutely nothing with her (after Edolas, she's more or left an afterthought).

    3. Tomas Elliot

      Tomas Elliot

What was the point in reviving her, if he wasn't going to use her in any plot-relevant way? MIght as well leave her dead!

  17. Fairy Tail Episode 19: Freaky Friday Flip! Also, Levy is suddenly flat, and she's gonna stay that way for the rest of the series.

    1. dragoniteborntacoz

      dragoniteborntacoz

Wait there is a girl in that series without huge boobs

I thought that was a requirement for fairy tale

    2. Tomas Elliot

      Tomas Elliot

There's actually 3 flt girls: Levy, Wendy and Mavis. Although, Levy is the most notable because, in her very first appearance back in Ep 2/3, she was actually drawn differently, she was taller and curvier... I guess Hiro had a change of heart afterwards.

  18. I don't care. "Lol dude I am so good I have many accomplishments so you must shut up and do what I say" is NOT an argument I shall ever accept in a discussion like this, period. Also because, it gives the impression that you are here not to help with a project, but rather to boast about how good you are and get everyone to praise you (incidentally, the fact that you are still here insisting that what you boasted about earlier is true gives the exact same impression). I never cared about the competitive scene and I never will. I never cared about who is globally recognized as a good player and I never will. I never cared about getting some recognition for my own accomplishments and I never will. When I make a topic like this, I do it exclusively for the sake of sharing an idea of mine with other people and, if someone has something to say about it, I expect them to back their points up with solid arguments, better if expressed politely. In other words, I expect all the posts in the topic to be like Kamina's. Or like Ody's. Or like Nick's. Or like everyone's but yours, come to think of it. This being said, I accept your apology. I still don't like your attitude and you probably don't like mine but hey, that's fine. It's not like one can be friends with everybody. Now if we could please consider this incident concluded and just move on.
  19. Welp, will test Scarf Latios and see how it goes... ... Is what I would like to say, but I am entering exam period, so I doubt I'll have that kind of free time. I'll see what I can do ;-;
  20. Fairy Tail Episode 18: it ends with Erza promising Natsu that he will be punished by being forced to do THAT, which causes him to freak out, because THAT is something really horrifying... Except the next episode deals with something entirely different, and the whole punishment thing is never mentioned again. I wanted to know what THAT is ;-;

^^This. Speculation is the only answer you will ever have, most likely...

but rest assured, as the trope dictates... it was probably horrible.

  21. Fairy Tail Episode 17: come Natsu, we are now going to destroy the moon!

  22. Well thank you for bringing this topic back in its right track. My only issue is that you are suggesting two equally valid options for the role of defogger (either give Mew Baton Pass, or replace the guy with Latios), so yeah, I can't decide between the two. Although I don't like the idea of losing Mew because, as mentioned in the OP, it takes away some pressure from Landorus. Also, do people really use Reflect Type Starmie? I have run into maybe a couple hundreds teams that included Starmie in my competitive experience, but it was always the LO set...
  23. Fairy Tail Episode 16: you know, Gray's victory over Lyon makes perfect sense, much like the earlier victory Natsu got over Erigor: in both cases, they came up on the fly with a perfectly legit strategy, that exploited a well-established fact. So yeah, it seems Hiro wasn't always so lazy in booking his fights...

  24. Fairy Tail Episode 15: of the whole flashback concerning Gray's past, the thing I remember the most is that there is a Magikarp Easter Egg at one point.

  25. Fairy Tail Episode 14: Lucy banking on Aquarius to NOT obey her in order to win a fight. First glimspes of the creativity that will become her signature.

I said creative, not smart. Besides, "smart" is an inappropriate term to use about Fairy Tail: everyone displays dumb behaviours in some occasions, and surprising insight in other ones. It's just the way the series is.
