Oops. I forgot to mention it. Will edit the main post before I get home. The RP is rated 16+. i would prefer if you refrain from using a certain 4-lettered swear word, but other than that swearing is fine. Sexual implications or allusions are fine so long as you don't make it explicit. Gore and violence is expected

October 1st, 20 AD (After Dawn) A man of mucsular build enters the room where you wait, surrounded by unfamiliar faces. His messy black hair, covered with a red beret, is accentuated by his stubble and the hardness in his eyes. His grey vest rustles slightly as he crosses his arms and scrutinises you. A singular black-coloured moon on his shoulder glints in the dim light of the briefing room. A belt of 6 Pokeballs crosses his waist. "Glad to see you're all gathered. Once again, I welcome all of you to Team Dusk. From this day forth, the twelve of you will be one unit; Unit Sylveon - or Unit S, for short. This is the name under which you will carry out missions, and the name which you, as a group, will respond to from now on. I am Lucas, and I am the officer of this Unit. You will take orders from me, and me alone. Each Unit is granted full autonomy, so if I give an order, you follow it. No questions asked." The man puts his hands in the pockets of his grey cargo pants, assuming a relaxed, casual pose. His eyes become softer, more gentle. "I'm sure each of you have a reason for joining. All of you have proven yourself to be against the rule of Dawn for some reason or other. I'm sure that many of you have stories which are, undoubtedly, tragic. That said, until we had completed our checks, we couldn't take the risks. So I would like to personally apologise for blindfolding you on the way here. Now that we have ascertained that none of you are agents for the Church, it's safe to tell you. At this moment, you are in a briefing room 25 metres below ground level, under the base of Mt. Coronet. Mt. Coronet is the centre for Team Dusk operations, and is our safehouse. As long as you are here, you are safe. Outside, however, is a different issue altogether. If any of you are identified as Team Dusk members, it will not be a pretty sight. To that end, the actions of each Unit will be kept secret from every other unit, to prevent a failure jeopardizing the missions of other Units. Now then, all of you should meet someone who will be of crucial importance in the battles to come." Lucas walks to the side of the screen which dominates the briefing area. He casually presses a switch, and the screen comes to life with a hum, showing you live footage of a woman. Her long, brown hair is tied in a ponytail hanging over her right shoulder, and she is wearing a tight-fitting, black, long-sleeved top with a grey vest bearing the black moon motif. She crosses her hands under her chin and leans forward, smiling. "Hi there. I'm White. Yes, weird name, I know. But more importantly, it's always nice to see a new unit! Welcome to Team Dusk." She leans back on her chair, and her tone becomes serious. "Now, for the not-so-happy things. I am Team Dusk's primary intelligence and surveillance operator. I will be acting as the rendezvous between your Unit and Team Dusk's mission control. My role will be to give you information on your various missions and aid you in any way I can." White bites her lip, her face taking on a troubled look. "Ideally, I would be out there in the field with you, helping you take down the enemy. But...due to certain...difficult...circumstances, I cannot be seen helping you. So all I can do is provide mission support for you. I apologise." She smiles again, but it looks much more pained than before. She leans into the camera and reaches forward to something off screen, "Well, I look forward to working with you. Until next time, White out." The screen switches off. Lucas steps forward again, casting a single glance at the screen. "You should receive the details of your first mission soon. Until then, get to know each other. And get to know each other well. From now on, these are the people you'll be relying on, nobody else. When I come back with the mission data, I want to see a team, a unit; not a group of ten people." Lucas walks out of the room, leaving you in a briefing room filled with nine other individuals.

Good description, lacking characteristics. He's too perfect. Give him a couple of flaws. Adding on to that, that backstory is a bit... I'm fine with him being a genius, but don't give him special powers please. It's not good for the story if one of the members has an advantage over the other. The point is that no member of the squad should ever become indispensable. EDIT: Whooo we now have ten people. I'll give Bereft some time to make his character more believable, then I'll put up the first mission brief :>

Okay, I'll put you down as just "Aruma", because no offence, but I REALLY don't approve of a name like "Camilla Valerie Mathilda Elinor von Schwartzer". I mean, that's four English names with a German indicator of heritage ._.

Added. Welcome to the team. Oh, but I'll need you to post a character profile in the pinned thread so that others will be able to describe him. I love how nobody's going for the "overpowered" or "mainstream" Pokemon like Blaziken, etc. This will be an interesting RP.

Oops. Will edit that out now. Some basic things about the lore that you can use that don't quite impact the story: One in Three girls born into the world MUST be given up to the Church to be trained as acolytes. The initiation ceremony for the acolytes of the Church involves pitting all acolytes against each other in battle, with the strongest three becoming full-fledged Priestesses. Society is largely matriarchal due to the them following a Goddess, which elevates the female gender. The entire world is under the influence of Dawn. Hope you can do some stuff with that, though it's more or less just stuff about the Church. If you want more info about the World, feel free to PM me; I'll tell you anything so long as it isn't a potential spoiler. On a seperate note, We need 3 more recruits before we can start things proper.

Lex just doesn't strike me as a female name. Lexi, or Lexy, maybe. Lex? Not so much. This world isn't post-apocalyptic at all. It's dystopian. So technology is pretty advanced. The state of tech is exactly how you'd expect it to be in 2033. So think hovercars, magnet trains, sleek, steel skyscrapers and the like. Egg moves are fine. You're going to need every advantage you can get, trust me Your character is fine. Mostly okay, but you seem to be somewhat misunderstanding the implication of indoctrination. Indoctrination is subtle, unnoticable. A ten-year old girl would not be able to pick it up. Indoctrination would appear as nothing more than an unexplainable, gradual change. You could change this: " But surprise the Church of the Goddess had indoctrinated her whole family and soon that family was all about the church and nothing about family values unless it involved the church." to "But then her family started getting obsessed with the ideology of the Church of Dawn. Soon, she no longer found love in her household; it had been replaced with simply a fervent devotion to Dawn." Well. Firstly, just to clarify: there are no "men" among Dawn's underlings. She acts through the acolytes and priestesses of the Church of Dawn, which are exclusively female. Secondly, there would be no need to "protect his neighborhood from Dawn's goons" as the followers of the Church of Dawn do not indiscriminately abuse or mistreat people. If anything, they're more likely to completely ignore the village unless it actively does something to threaten the Church's position - and the actions of your character's father would not be sufficient justification for them to bother with the village. He probably got destroyed by one of the Redeemers (oops. Spoiler. You'll meet them eventually) anyway. Everything else is more or less fine. Also, punctuation. "Leaving Josh in the care of a young Bulbasaur that would one day become his partner and his mother." is kind of awkward. It seems like the Bulbasaur is his mother ._. Commas make the world go round. The sentence should be "Leaving Josh in the care of his mother, as well as a young Bulbasaur which would one day become his partner."

As I stroked Mimi the Garchomp, I couldn't help but notice the ever-growing crowd of people around us. Oops. Apparently Mimi's Roar had been a mite too conspicuous. Not good. People equaled talking equaled social interaction equaled public embarrassment. A man approached from behind. "I want to battle Garchomp." A battle? This guy wouldn't have a chance. This was Eve's Garchomp, a Pokemon that helped her hold the title of Sinnoh League Champion for close to 3 years now. Besides, she's not mine; I can't use her in battle in good conscience. That said, to refuse would be to speak and potentially open myself to the risk of having to socialise. I weighed the options. On the one hand, I could accept and give this guy a terrible loss with a Pokemon that isn't even mine, causing me to be seen as a bully. On the other hand, I could speak up and refuse, but that might lead to socialising and conversation. There was only one option I could take. I leapt onto Mimi's back, causing her to cock her head in curiosity. "Come on, Mimi. Take me to Cherrygrove please." "Gar~" I tightened my grip on Mimi's neck as she tensed up her body to run. Then, without warning, she lurched forward, with me clinging on for dear life. I felt somewhat bad for leaving Jory in the lurch like that, but my survival came first. And survival meant putting a lot of distance between myself and the possibility of socialising. Cherrygrove Town came swiftly into view, but Mimi wasn't slowing down. Not good. "Gar! Garchomp~" Crap. She was enjoying the run. Looks like Cherrygrove is out of the picture. As I expected, Mimi burst through Cherrygrove, startling several residents who were - understandably - not used to the sight of a giggling, dashing Garchomp. As I passed, I called out repeated apologies, hoping that nobody would feel like filing a lawsuit. That would be bad. Mimi had completely cleared Cherrygrove and entered into Route 30 before she started to slow down. She finally came to a halt outside a house. I shakily got off, and Mimi nuzzled my face happily. "Mimi, you crazy girl. I'm sending you back to Eve the moment I have a chance." Mimi didn't seem to care, content to continue nuzzling my cheek. It's not so much that I didn't enjoy the company of the Garchomp - it was, after all, the cutest one I've ever met - but more that I wanted to finish this journey on my own, with minimal help from Eve. I had something to prove, and using Eve's Garchomp wasn't going to prove anything. As I finally began to take note of my surroundings, I noticed something terrible. Outside the house where we'd alighted, several other people were gathering, including that Odin girl from before, who was at this moment gazing intently at me. In fact, they were all looking at me curiously, with an old man standing at the centre of the group. Brilliant. I fled from the prospect of socialising - to find myself in a position where socialising seemed imminent. O, Atropos, Clothos, Lachesis; Thou art cruel Mistresses indeed. -
Would lick that/10

i apologise in advance for double post; a merger would be much appreciated.Well... The Church of Dawn doesn't practice hypnosis. Indoctrination yes, hypnosis not so much. How about making her a runaway from a convent? (In this universe, every 1 in 3 female children born must be surrendered to the church) If you adopt this suggestion, though, do note that she will likely have grown up knowing nothing but the church's doctrine, and her thoughts should reflect that. If you'd rather stick to your original story, please remove the hypnosis bit.

Why don't you edit your post in the other thread, most RPs disapprove of random powers. As for Fluffy, it's your choice; though I named my ingame TTar Kiki, if that helps.

Not really, just: "very smart but does just not show it often"" Please try not to make him act like an idiot. If he's intelligent, let him show it. In a life-or-death situation like the one in this RP, hiding any talents among the group does not help anyone.
