let's get down with harsh critic...no not really, even if i personally have no problems at all with grinding my (favorite) Pokemon but other people may think otherwise, anyway your list is pretty much correct (more or less) apart from Gastly (Gengar is strong so for the same motive as Beldum? I think yes) but remember that even in the official games the "extra" Pokemon you receive (either as eggs or not) are often (not always but often) low level.

Reborn never was "insanely" difficult (inb4 Ame makes it) imo, the difficulty is just right (how Pokemon games actually should be if they weren't created for little kids) the "fields" add variety to the fights and i hope there wil be more

That's not...very difficult you just have to be lucky or have enough time (the first move is always yours so you can use a ball right away or a sleep move with a fast pokemon)

Metagross is really slow so the Jolly version works only if you EV train him but it's your choice

Then we're talking about different things i meant the "competitive" part of Pokemon not the easy vanilla mode of the main series

It's still pretty good (not as good as it was but) remember that in the (very distant) future we'll have a Mega Ring and Metagrossite so it'll become stronger, now Metang is not a very good Pokemon better wait till it evolves to judge and his nature is bad too (only Adamant for him), for the moveset mine has: Meteor Mash, Bullet Punch (to finish "fast" things and compensate for) Hammer Arm, Zen Headbutt so pretty standard. For the Gym Leaders: it won't help you against Charlotte (only because no Earthquake) but it can stand it's ground against Terra (if you equip him with a Balloon) and surprisingly can kill many (like 3, more if EV trained) of Luna's Pokemon (because Hammer Arm)
