"Actually, the reason he gave it to me was because I seemed to circumvent the curse. Sort of. I should explain a bit about it," Ecquis said, standing nearby Maya "The bow as it is now actually would be a regular longbow, if a bit heavy. However, this isn't exactly how it normally acts. Allow me to demonstrate," Ecquis said before focusing. He became very silent for a few moments. "Glow, Stellaris," he whispered silently. With the words said, the bow itself began to shine brightly, with the string glowing a bright gold and magical energy swirling around the bow and Ecquis himself. "Under normal circumstances, the bow would act like this if picked up by others. Apparently a certain family had crafted a bow meant for their use. It also had the added curse that anyone outside of the family that used the bow would drain their life force over each shot, eventually dying. For whatever reason, using the bow like this was never able to kill me, though it is very draining to use. I also seem to be able to put the bow into a neutral state where it isn't affected by its magic," Ecquis stated before deactivating the bow, causing it to lose its grand luster. "Since Alvis couldn't use it, but I could, he decided it would be better to let me hold on to the thing. It was also sort of a parting gift, seeing as how I haven't run into him again. Perhaps he's still in Yukihana somewhere," Ecquis said before trailing off towards the end.

Nah, its magic metal or some such. Probably. I didn't think too much about what it was made out of tbh.

Ecquis is actually a competent archer you'll find. Unlike a certain dancer...

There's also some other things with the bow that are a little...odd. Maybe you can find out about it. Also gameplay =/= story for this particular case. Also in that this bow is never seeing the field for various reasons.

"I do doubt that Hoshiko could really use this bow. Besides being rather heavy it can also be considered a cursed bow," Ecquis told Maya, recalling what Alvis had told him about the bow and the stories of the people that used it. Even his own experience with using the bow came back to him thinking on it. "As for where I got it, a friend gave it to me before I left Yukihana for Caelum. He was one of the only two friends I had before coming here," Ecquis said, thinking back on his time in Yukihana.

Well Ecquis is walking around with a longbow so...maybe an accidental shot goes off?

After making sure Mira and Cynthia stayed put and were comfortable, Ecquis started to look around for the other two wyverns. It didn't take him too long to find Morgan resting next to Maya. Well this is certainly interesting, Ecquis thought to himself, not overly surprised that Morgan would seek her out. The pair had seemed to become rather good friends, something Ecquis hadn't seen in quite some time. "Hello there Maya. I see that Morgan decided to come by while I was away. How are you?"

"I see," Ecquis responded to the comment about their relationship. It seemed to him that Anna would have preferred Ian to have said something else. Perhaps Anna had feelings for her fellow merchant? Ecquis couldn't say, since he hasn't been around enough people to say that he had any idea on how people felt around one another. One of the side effect of his roaming was that he had very little human contact most of the time. "And yes, I'll make sure to join you for that family reunion. It would be very interesting to meet the rest of your family," Ecquis replied, rather eager. At this point, he noticed that two of his wyverns had come nearby. "Oh, Cynthia and Mira decided to show up. I'll be talking to you two more later, for now I'll be making sure none of my wyverns have gotten into trouble," Ecquis said before walking away from the pair, waving back with the hand without the bow. After going back to where he had initially went towards, he saw that only Ziona was still there, sound asleep. "Well then, time to find out where the rest of you went." Seeing the wink that Meredith gave him, the red wyvern made a sort of grin before continuing to try and hide from the others.

"Before I left Caelum, Clara was busy handling some future trade deals with a few other big merchants back in Caelum. Hopefully she hasn't gotten stuck in another sand dune while I've been gone, but hopefully that shouldn't be an issue," Ecquis laughed, recalling the rather unusual circumstances by which he met Anna. He was very interested in hearing about the family reunion though. "A family reunion? That sounds like quite the event considering the resemblance. You'll have to let me join you both if you don't mind. I'd like to see Clara's reaction to seeing me again seeing as how its been three years," he told Anna, quite surprised that this event is also going on. Though Ecquis did have one other question regarding how Anna phrased that particular part. "I hope you don't mind me asking, but what exactly is your relationship with Ian? Just fellow merchants working with one another or..."

Morgan, happy to be noticed by someone she liked, went up besides Maya and laid down, making a pleased roar. Elsewhere, the red wyvern had managed to get close to Meredith and the others, seemingly without being detected.

While Ecquis went off to talk to the merchants, Mira and Cynthia decided to go follow him, landing just a bit besides him. Morgan had decided to inch closer to the fire in an attempt to get a bit warmer. The red wyvern, seeing this, decided to follow, going closer to the trio of soldiers rather than towards where Morgan went. The black wyvern, uninterested in the other happenings, decided to take a nap where she already was.

"I'm doing rather well right now. Also it occurs to me that I may not have introduced myself. My name is Ecquis," he told the pair, slightly surprised that he hadn't done so already. "It seems rather nostalgic to me having a couple of merchants around. Reminds me of when I was back in Caelum with Anna Clara. Those were some pleasant memories," Ecquis stated before reminiscing on his time in Caelum. Remembering his merchant endeavors from the past put a smile on his face, even though it really wasn't all that long ago since he had left.

Vulnaries do save lives. I would know seeing as how they were my only resort lel.

After pacing a bit deciding what he was going to do, Ecquis decided to head towards the merchant pair, seeing as how everyone else seemed to be engaged in something. He decided to keep the bow with him though as he walked over, leaving the five wyverns grouped together. "Hello Ian. Anna. Taking stock of the goods are we?"

Ecquis had gone slightly further away from the fire along with all of his wyverns. He didn't want to take up too much space from everyone else. Ecquis was sitting on the back of his red wyvern, holding an rather large, ornate longbow. Been a while since I've messed with this old thing, Ecquis thought to himself before deciding to get up. "Now then, what do I feel like doing?"

Soldier's drum seems like a nice option tbh.

"I suppose I'll take an Iron Javelin"

Here's hoping this crystal doesn't do anything weird upon breaking.

"Yes Rosa, we beat Ignexus. However, when we took a look into the church, all the bodies of the villagers were piled in some grotesque dragon construct. The church also contained a crystal that was causing the undead to rise up. We wanted to destroy the crystal, but I wasn't sure how it would react to the bodies around, so we're burning it all just in case with Hoshiko shooting the crystal," Ecquis informed Rosa, who seemed to have just come to. "Anyways, how are you feeling? You collapsed after the battle ended, but now you seem to be a bit better," Ecquis asked, wondering if the woman had any lingering effects from the fight.

"Well, I guess I'll leave that to you two. I'll be waiting outside with the others," Ecquis states before going out of the church towards his wyverns. While out, Ecquis noticed Meredith nearby the soldier they had picked up, but he decided not to intrude.

"If you feel destroying the crystal won't cause other problems, then by all means go ahead," Ecquis remarked. He had never truly seen artifacts that can create undead, but there was a first time for everything. That being said, Ecquis had no idea what would happen if they broke the crystal here with the bodies still around. "Should we do anything about the bodies first though? I wouldn't want to break this thing only for it to reanimate all these corpses." he decided to ask.
