I may not have phrased it exactly like I wanted to, but this is the situation I wanted to avoid. I want you to learn something about this. I planned to do the same thing to Slade but ExLink showed (so far) progression so I refrained from doing it. You come over (unintentionally?) like you want to solve all the riddles that are going on and that you don't want to lose a battle. I'm trying to break this view of 'Kenny' as all of you will lose a battle at some point. I'm not going to lie but even characters like Jacob and Mareek will get their ass kicked at some point and it's going to be bad. Really bad. In this case I want you to learn how to lose and still turn it into something positive before we reach that point. I have the feeling I really need to do it now before we reach the point where things get serious. So I don't accept you forfeiting this battle even though I don't want to use Evan for it.
-
This. I want you to understand that you don't need to win all the time. It may sound weird but I want you to learn how to lose a battle.

That's what I thought but I haven't seen some of the people post lately so I don't know if they're still active. (Even though I expected them to jump at the Skarmory conversation) Anyway I'll edit my latest update for the group in the waiting room.

On a lighter note: what's the group in the waiting room doing? If you're all done plotting I'm going to throw something else in.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Chim replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Zerron and DarkLight Lana was in the bathroom changing clothes and drying her Rhyhorn, giving the two young trainers some more time to talk. Hosts (Trainer Red + Jory) "And Jacob finishes the battle!" Brand said. The CEO was still taking care of commenting which was rather strange. Where was Marco? The guy never skipped the chance to comment on Pokémon battles. After announcing the next match between Kenny and Evan, Brand gulped down a bottle of water and started to cough. The randomizer had landed and a picture of thunderbolts in the sky became visible. Brand tried his best to announce what was so special about the field but failed. Devin sighed and decided to handle it. "Never drink too fast, especially when you're excited," he whispered to Redwood's childhood friend. The man in question looked at him with a childish face but didn't protest. The Elite Four member cleared his throat. "The electrical field is surrounded by fences on all sides. As you all can see there's also a big sphere coming down from the ceiling, a conductor. This mean that every now and then random jolts of electricity will be shot at different directions from the fences to the sphere. That way flying types receive the same threatment as any other type. There's also no means to destroy the fences. I won't go into detail but the only way out of this one if to win. The students don't have to worry either since the electricity of the field won't knock your Pokémon out. So Kenny and Evan; good luck and don't forget to use your last Pokémon." TurboAura Didn't this kid get it? Humans could be really dumb... But that wouldn't stop him from teaching this one a lesson. That's why he and his trainer were summoned for so why_not start right now? "Shiftry, stand down!" An older man, who appeared to be around 70, walked over. "Sorry about that. My grand-daughter always let her Pokémon roam around freely. Shiftry is a bit harsh but he means well." Waiting room What a great place this Academy is! Lots of people and kids that loved to play with him. And still Shiftry didn't like this place... Why? What a weird dark type. Oh? What's that? A group of serious looking students. Are they bored? Do they need some entertainment? Maybe they want to dance? Dancing is the solution to everything. The Ludicolo threw himself against the door and side stepped against the wall. The few people who noticed him started to chuckle, but no one in the group he had his eyes on seemed to notice him. He reached the point behind a kid with red hair and threw himself on all fours, dodged a few chairs and popped up behind Slade. The sound of castagnets warned the group of the new arrival; a dancing Ludicolo. The water-grass type started to walk on the tip of his toes? Legs? and stared to a happy dance. Hopefully it would cheer these students up! ((Galen's update is coming tomorrow))- 1255 replies

Interest Check: A Yu-Gi-Oh roleplay
Chim replied to Tomas Elliot's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
What ExLink and DarkLight said. And I don't have a preference as to which option you want to use. -
So I finally managed to catch up. I have my new laptop and the only thing I have left to do is transfer my Ymora documents to this one after getting Openoffice. Now that's out of the way I can start updating again. This is what's going to happen: 1) Jacob won. I don't know where Jory is but that battle wasn't all that important. So those that are going to post before I can; you can use it. (Danielle or Slade or someone else close to Jacob or anyone feeling like mentioning it) 2) This is the reason why I made this post. I don't like doing this but I'm going to force Kenny out of the tournament. I will PM him about the reasons why but that's between him and me. I don't want anyone giving him any crap about it or telling me that I'm abusing my host powers. I'm just informing you all because this time I will powerplay a character without it being related to the story. Just let me tell you this; Kenny is on his way to getting killed. I don't mind killing off characters but this one is a pointless death. K_H (or Trainer Red), consider this as a warning.

Interest Check: A Yu-Gi-Oh roleplay

If only we could duel like that... And sure, I'm interested. Even if it just brings back the memories of when I played with crappy cards against others with crappy cards. -
After wandering around the city for a while longer, Trystane and Argo finally decided it was time to meet up with the others at the Northern Gate.

So I have a busy weekend coming up. I might have a few extra hours tomorrow depending on how late I have to work tonight but Sunday I won't have time. I'm also finally getting my new laptop. And since I have barely seen Jory around lately, one of you can take control of Nadia and Klefki so I don't hold things up. If he doesn't post by Monday I'm skipping the battle and say Jacob won.
-
Fine. I'll take Cherrim Actually I still have no idea what to do. Skarmory is based on how the story goes, Zubat won't stick around. (He won't give it back to RoG even if he ends up joining them) So far I have: - Vaporeon - Ninetales - Clefable - Medicham - Gengar - Scrafty / T-tar (?) I was also considering Klinklang but that thing doesn't even has 4 useful attacks. Bronzong is another possibility but that would mean I add to the ghost weakness. Yanmega has my preferences as a flying type.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]

Hosts (Jory) “Aren’t these fields amazing?” Brand grinned. “And we’ve got even more of them! Randomizer spin!!” Redwood gave Brand a nudge in the ribs. “Oh yes, congrats on winning Danielle, sorry about that I just get easily distracted.” Brand scratched his had in embarrassment while the randomizer was still spinning. This time a small part, about a seventh, was visible and showed the forest. The needle slowed down and almost stopped on the same field again before disappearing and a field of rocks became visible. “Rocky field! Jacob and Nadia, come on over to play!” While the crowd waited for both competitors, the mechanism started to work and revealed a field filled with rocks. It looked very basic except for one interesting detail; there was no clear footing. All rocks were uneven or overlapped in a way that made straight movement impossible. Nadia cursed when she arrived. This field would be difficult to battle for her and Klefki. TurboAura Shiftry ignored both Kiai and Jet. The grass type pointed to where Shiro was earlier then to Robert and pretended to flex his muscles. That was how those silly humans tried to show off their strength, right? And to show Shiftry was serious, he decided to slap Robert again. This time he used his other fan-hand. Now what would this crybaby do about it?- 1255 replies

Shiftry is pretty cool but probably fits Henry's team the least. I also considered Lilligant for Evan, but she (yes, Lilligant is female. Always.) can be used to draw out Henry's Coordinator side. But your number one though... Kudos if you're going to use it. It's original and can be used in many fun ways. Combine it with Rosie and you have Henry's troll team. Edit: Maybe I should give Nadia a Skarmory just to mess around a little xD
-
K_H since you're facing Evan; Azery randomized the Electric field for our battle. I also randomized Jacob's field: Rocks. Update is coming after I had dinner.
-
^ What he said. At least about the Vileplume vs Trevenant thing. I don't see why Unfezant or Throh would fit Slade more compared to others. Also to show that I'm completely randomizing; the next person to post can include a number between 1 and 7. I'm using a different order for Evan's battle(s). The one against Jacob will be randomized by me.
-
You can but what about the battles fought outside the Academy? Or are you planning to let Henry carry around an oven wherever he goes? In that case I hope you plan to use Rotom-Fridge.
-
Like Commander said; at first it can play around with different machines (and forms) but it will have to pick a favorite and stay that way. Or it can be a regular but I won't accept if it changes whenever it sees fit. And Evan is going to get a Gengar after the Medicham.
-
I missed that part. Just say Shiftry looked in Shiro's direction and saw everything beforehand. Not sure what Bfroger is planning or I would've made it seem like Shiro passed through the waiting room with Anna after leaving the bathroom.
-
Same for Gengar. It's just to get away from the 'harmless' Pokémon. It will become clear when I get there with Evan. (Or that's the plan) Scrafty seems more fun compared to Pangoro because of the pants.
-
Yes but I still want and try to go for Pokes no one else is using. I also have accomplished what I want for Evan at this point and that's a team that looks harmless but isn't to be underestimated. Now that Evan reached the point where he has to decide what to do, I figured I give him all kinds of types. Tyranitar is another one I'm considering alongside Krookodile or Scrafty. Also I moved Tses to the MIA section. Neither Tses or Snap told me they would be away for a while so if they aren't back by the time chapter 4 ends their characters will be removed.

Pokémon Academy: Ch 3: Winter Cup [IC]
Chim replied to Chim's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Surge (Galen) Pierre actually behaved during the walk to the lake. He rode his Ponyta the entire time while looking out for potentially ugly, poisonous Pokémon. The lake was filled with life. It was probably the one spot in the entire forest that attracted every kind of Pokémon. They were all gathered on the shores while birds flew from tree to tree and water types swam around lazily. 2 small Lapras were in the middle of the giant lake but according to the mission details there should be a bigger one around. Sarah stared at the mountain that casted his shadow over half the lake. There was a natural opening above the water surface, but no way in on foot. “Maybe the Lapras is inside?” TurboAura The grass type looked at Shiro, back at Robert, then back to Shiro before just staring at Robert with a blank look. Suddenly he smacked the boy across the face, but not hard enough to hurt him. Zephyr “I have spare clothes with me,” Lana chuckled. I’ll change as soon as my Pokémon are healed. She dried herself a little with a towel when her eye fell on the Togepi. “Since when did you have a Togepi?”- 1255 replies

I'm thinking about reworking Evan's team. So far I have pretty much ignored the Vulpix / Ninetales and just gave it to him without a reason. I also gave it somewhat the same role as Skarmory turned out to be without noticing... So I need to figure out a new role for it or just make it a supportive mon. Btw is anyone getting a Gengar? Might be interesting to make it a main one on Evan's team.
