Tangela/Tangrowth Tier: B Availability: Early Stats: Above Average Move Pool: Average Tangrowth is an amazing physical wall, it's got an amazing defense and special attack stat and when it become a tangrowth it also get good hp and attack. It's also get a good move pool, like a lot of other grass pokemon it gets the status powder for haxing opponents and mega/giga drain which can constantly keep it in the fight. It can be a pain to find though, it took me 4 hours to find 4 tangelas and one time I found a shiny venipede and pansage before I found one. However there is one major thing holding tangela/tangrowth back from higher tiers, the bosses of reborn. Many of the gym leaders of reborn run specially offensive teams that make tangrowth less effective and around the time you get tangrowth a lot of the major bosses are very unfriendly to grass types. Overall, tangrowth is a great pokemon it is an amazing grass type physical wall but keep in mind many of the bosses of reborn have ways to counter it. Oh and Mordoth Tangela cannot learn leech seed naturally its an egg move and Emboar can get hammer arm through the remember tutor or what ever you call it.

I run nasty plot/ dark pulse/ hypnosis/ sucker punch on mine I don't use dream eater because I find it incredibly unreliable, it makes you pretty dependent on hitting hypnosis and not having them wake up. I personally recommend trying out sucker punch on spiritomb over a second STAB special attack, sucker punch makes up for spiritombs low speed and lets it murder glass canon psychic and ghost types. Using sucker punch my spiritomb was able to take out huge threats like Aya's gengar, Serra's frostlass and it even one hit KO the level 100 abra with a dark gem boosted sucker punch (although mine is an attack raising nature).

like zeilent mentioned pickup is a good way to get a sunstone, but you need a level 41 pokemon to do it and you have to do it before ep 10 Ame is changing the pickup table. You can also keep catching that event solrock with a compound eyes user and reset every time you don't get it, solrocks have a 5% chance of a sunstone. I'm not entirely sure about this but I feel like there's a sunstone lying around somewhere in reborn but I don't remember where..... Btw why do you need a grass-type to battle a poison-type gym?

Some more suggestions Trubbish/ Garbador Tier: C/D Move Pool: Poor Stats: Average Availability: Early Before I played reborn all i ever heard about trubbish was that is was a horrible pokemon and it was just well garbage, my opinion on garbador all changed when I was forced to use one against Aya's cradily. In reborn trubbish and garbador have a niche of being an early toxic staller, they are the only pokemon to my knowledge who can reliably toxic stall early on in the game. This is huge when taking on bosses, my Garbador managed to stall out huge threats like Shade's Chandelure and 1/3 of Cain's team. Even though its bulk isn't that great it can easily beef itself up with stockpile and despite its dismal sp. atk it can melt enemies sp def with acid spray while taking hits giving it a decent offensive power. While trubbish and garbador aren't exactly amazing pokemon they should not be dismissed as just garbage, they fill a special niche in the game and are actually decnt pokemon. I'll add some more once ep. 10 comes out there are some pokemon I want to try out in battle before giving a review on like my yamega and durant.

Porygon Z is not yet in game Yamma is on Azurine Island, it is REALLY rare you can get it either in grass or headbutting trees Elecktrike is running around Julia's gym during thunderstorms.

I personally don't think pickup crews will become useless in episode 10, yeah we won't get amazing items by running around with speedhack but we will get free stuff by just playing the game with part of our crew or by grinding a pokemon and have the other 5 members of our team b pickup pokemon. It'll give us free stuff for training our pokemon and who doesn't want free stuff?

A bit too late but you can find tangela in the streets or grass, if your doing it in the streets bring a sweet scent user it'll make things faster. It took me 4 hours to get my tangela, first one I found I ran out of pokeballs, second one I caught but reset cause I was looking for regenerator tangela......only to remeber you can't get one, next I accidentally knocked it out, and I finally caught the last one.... Oh and by the time I caught one I found a shiny venipede and pansage.

Whoops, now that you mention it I can see that hes facing forward.

We fight Radomus while he looks at gossip gardevoir?

I personally think your team looks pretty nice. You might have trouble with fast fire types and psychic types, also you won't be able to get sucker punch on your honchcrow but besides that your team looks pretty good once you train porygon and honchcrow up. I don't think you can have a moxie honchcrow right now due to the 3 ability bug.

So the designers know that difficulty doesn't equal...

You ever tried grinding wild pokemon to a usable level during story mode? Yeah this happens a lot when you try to do that its all part of raising a pokemon unless you have an exp share. If your talking about the trainers I've never had any trouble with them or any troubles with money. The game is meant to be a challenge, its not challenging to take on bosses with pokemon 5 more levels than them. If your having trouble with leech seed and sand attack switch out? Haxs are a part of pokemon, you get some your opponent gets some and sometimes your just unlucky. Oh and btw flinch moves and kings rock don't stack. Like everyone else has mentioned this game is meant to be a challenge, yes it's annoying as hell when a grimer spams minimize all day and you can't kill it and yes i wanted to rage quit when my boldore left Corey's crobat with red hp with a 3 hit rock blast and let it sweep my team. But getting past these annoying and difficult things are one of the things that I enjoy in this game over the regular canon games. -

I personally feel that magby should be B or A tier until the magmarizer comes out, and for some suggestions for pokemon I've used Venonat/ Venomoth Tier: D Availability: Early Stats: Average Move Pool: Average. Comments: Unless you really happen to like venomoth I would not recommend this pokemon, the problem isn't that venomth is bad its actually a pretty good pokemon with it's sleep powder and a decent sp. atk. The problem is venonat, like a lot of other bugs has a really bad move pool it won't get a good STAB move until lvl 31 if you want to use a heart scale or 37 if not. Venonat just requires too much babysitting for it to be a good pokemon, yes venomoth is a good pokemon but by the time you get one you could have gotten switch trained an even better sp.atker like gardevoir or alakazam which outclass venomoth in everything except bug STAB and sleep condition Spiritomb Tier: C Availability:Mid Stats: Average Move Pool: Decent Comments: Spiritomb is actually a pretty decent pokemon, it's stats are a bit meh but it makes it up a bit for a decent move pool and amazing typing. Until the fairy type is released spiritomb has one of the best typing in the game, dark/ghost gives it no weaknesses and gives it immunity to psychic, normal, and fighting. Spiritomb also has a decent move pool too: it gets hypnosis for the broken sleep status, nasty plot for setting up fast, and STAB sucker punch the bane of all glass cannon ghost and psychic types like frostlass and gengar. Overall spiritomb is a decent pokemon, but it loses some pointswit it's kind of average stats and while it's move pool is good it's mostly stuck with ghost and dark moves so it doesn't cover that many things.

Congratz on your pick up team!!!! Yeah training a pick up team is a pain (mine is made of lvl 41.....) but it quite rewarding in the end (for me kind of). Lets hope that Ame doesn't change the pick up table drastically ....

Well I'm not sure what this has to do with reborn but ok. I'm a junior at high school, I'm currently stuck between becoming a marine biologist or a computer engineer when I go to college. Like James I'm not really a big sports fan, i like playing every once in a while but I'm not good at it and I ca't ever due it consistently. i used to play runescape a lot and i got my username from a clan i really enjoyed playing with, however it became dull after awhile and I only did that because i had a crappy computer back than (imaging playing playing SC2 and every time a siege tank shot your computer crashed, yeah it was that bad.) Now I mostly play LOL, silver 5 right now but I'll be aiming for gold once season 4 starts. Pokemon was a thing I really enjoyed in the past but I stopped playing because I felt it was childish, now i recently got back into pokemon once I realized many other kids in my grade liked and have n=been enjoying it again since. Wow didn't mean to write that much lol
