Depends on what sorta game you're into. It's not for me personally since I prefer a fast paced RPG with rapid lines and a story to match. It's really just about what sort of RPG you like to play.

If you like an open world where you can dick around for hours on end; and still have a lot of things to do, go nuts with it.

Just, be wary, it doesn't give you much of a reason to really do the main quest; the side quests are more interesting imo.

I recommend putting the main quest off for as long as possible.
