If he's worth this trouble, he's gonna realize that the other girl, if it comes down to it, is a bitch, and the problem of cutting herself seemed to be well known. If he chooses her over you, he's either really dumb or sympathetic to a fault. In that case, you wouldn't be missing out on anything good, but by the looks of it it's his choice. The best thing I can say is go for it...
