  1. Here are the default controls from the Street Fighter V manual:
  2. Not sure why I picked this for an avy. Astolfo is kinda cute I guess.

    1. Despair Syndrome

      Despair Syndrome

what are you talking about, he IS cute

  3. Alex is a grappler too! He's a little less mighty than Gief but is more mobile. Who knows, maybe he becomes a secondary
  4. First off, with KoF XIV coming up, you can either wait until then or get XIII now while it's cheap to get things figured out in time for XIV's release. It that were me I'd do the latter. I play SFV on console. As far as consoles go it is only available for PS4; Sony did fund it after all, and getting cross-platform multiplayer to work with any Xbox console can be a big hassle, if not impossible. Tekken 7 will also be PS4 exclusive, but that could be for a different reason because no PC version exists (Japanese market catering, maybe). Now that I think about it, T7 has an arcade version...where's SFV's...?
  5. Naaah. Mortal Kombat X's competitive scene is alive and well. Granted, it's not on the level of Smash Bros or Street Fighter, but it's doing very well for itself. Not to mention, with the new patch came some remade netcode which makes the game run almost flawlessly online. A recommended game right after Killer Instinct.
  6. His ult is super confusing. Even playing him last night I barely had any idea of how to use it properly.
  7. Riot Games has acquired Radiant Entertainment, including their head honchos Tom and Tony Cannon, founders of shoryuken.com and the EVO tournament series. Kinda interested to see what changes in the world of FGC, if anything at all.

Watch them 1. Ruin it by making the same system they use for LoL players where all of the pros earn shit salaries, and can't even stream games 2. Do nothing with it :^)

A LoL-based fighting game has been requested for a while now and a fan-made one existed for a little while.

  8. The SFV tutorial is skippable. Also I'm gonna give a shoutout to Killer Instinct, which is actually kinda easy to get into from Street Fighter. It's fast-paced, I've had a ton of fun with it, and there's actually a healthy competitive scene with a new season coming up at the end of the month. It was exclusive to XBOX One before, but with the new season will come a PC version which should run pretty well on medium-performance computers.
  9. Mac has a very close matchup against Sheik. About 55:45 loss. But that's about it as far as high tiers go. Mario especially dummies him. His placing in the tier list is debatable, so I'm not sure if he is better or worse than Wario. But I'm pretty adamant that DK is much better than Mac overall with range and early kill options that make top tier matchups feasible. For example the big gorilla has the tools to win the Ryu matchup somewhat easily, and has cheap tricks against the fast fallers (such as Ding Dong) that can swing a match quickly.
  10. Best feel: Winning a set of 3rd strike with a raging demon.

  11. DD's tier list...here's what I'd do to it. Of course, this is my opinion so take it how you will. Also, there is another use for the Tier List Maker that a fair few people have been doing - matchup charts! You can of course alter the names of the charts to show off good or bad matchups for each character. I see more of these than legit tier lists now, funny enough. In the spoiler is an example matchup chart for Captain Falcon.
  12. If we wanna argue which FE characters are better, this is my personal, slightly biased ranking: Ike Marth Lucina Corrin Robin Roy Ike: Ike is still Ike; great grabs and combos out of them, great kill power, scary range, and a now buffed F-Air and F-Smash as if he couldn't kill early enough. Still kicking ass. Still not doling out sympathy. Marth: 70% kills as Marth are popping up all over the place after the buffs to his aerials/tipper hitboxes. With those buffs comes a couple more ways to combo into those tippers, as well as some improved reliability on the confirms that already existed. Range buffs benefit his key edgeguarding moves, but he still won't get many easy offstage kills without tippers. That said, those tippers are EXTREMELY lethal. Don't fuck with 'em. Lucina: The damage/range buffs were very generous and have turned Lucina from a silly warrior waifu into a terrifying offstage threat. Few characters can weave around the now-disgusting coverage of her specials/aerials. She still kinda lacks onstage kill power before 100% (barring a shield break), but has kill confirms, high coverage, and a surprising amount of moves that are safe on shield. Corrin: Now that we've figured out exactly what Corrin does (and doesn't do), many of us have started to find that he is a character that relies on zoning and, when that fails, some gimmicks. Play his game and you will lose. However he has a very tough time handling pressure and, outside of a couple moves, has a less than impressive close-range game which includes a poor negative state. Will lose to aggressive characters/players who find a way around his defenses. Robin: Robin is a fairly similar character to Corrin but trades some tools for a little extra recovery and kill power. However those tools (such as a Counter and some quick-to-act-out-of aerials) were key to fending off the threat of many characters and Thunder/Arcfire tomes often do little to nothing to compensate. Still a great character, but definitely requires some patience. Roy: Roy is still considered the worst, as he is still cursed by the same weaknesses he had before. That said the buffs made for additional improvements to his already-great pressure/tech-chasing game. He's still got use, and is still fun for the impulsive and impatient.
  13. Roy is almost a completely different charactet from Marth/Lucina in that he is offensive and pressure-based. He has combos but in order to close a stock early takes a pretty good read off a dodge or missed tech. (Might be a good time to mention he is among the game's best tech chasers) He is still the worst FE character for now, but he's definitely not bottom-tier unviable like a lot of people have been thinking he is; those buffs were a pretty big boost to his pressure game. It's a shame about that awful recovery though.
  14. Perhaps the thing I'm most curious about is how much resemblance he's going to have to the original Ao Shin concept.
  15. Gonna go see the LCS live on Sunday! Should be a good time.

  16. Real talk, I would not be surprised if this made the number of daily visitors to the channel increase...
  17. Fun fact: During and immediately after the Super Tuesday political campaign, search queries on Google for "How to move to Canada" rose almost 1200%.

  18. Cool stuff for Ken that could be a huge help in a lot of matchups. Remember you can't do this with hard or EX tatsu because they carry him into the air.
  19. After watching these Gief vids and playing some Gief on my own I'm learning how bananas Zangief's super is. Does a ton of damage, actually kinda fast, and YOU CAN FUCKING COMBO INTO THIS THING. I didn't even notice that until I did some wacky shit with it in Training. The combo options that worked for me were Jp.MK and V-Trigger. It's also funny as fuck. Only problem is the input is really hard, but buffering it with the forementioned moves and on wakeup have really helped me pull it off. On the other hand, it's a lot harder to use as a punish than Gief's super/ultra in USF4 cuz no startup invincibility, so it really helps to find combo options into it. On a side note, I love DS4 for this game. I have no idea why.
  20. Chun is kinda OP in both games... Also for some reason I have a lot of trouble playing Chun in both SF4 and this game. Was my 3rd Strike main for a while and didn't have trouble with her in SFxT either. Half-circle fireballs maybe?
  21. I really wish people would stop abbreviating Pokemon Sun and Moon to Pokemon S&M.

  22. Absolute slaughter from the supposed bottom-feeder of the tier list.
  23. Played some Killer Instinct today. Funny how with each fighting game I've started playing over the last two weeks, I just have more fun than the last one.

  24. Fun fact: the number of registered SFV players for EVO 2016 has surpassed 3,000.

    1. Flux

      Flux

Daaaaang, that's a lot of people. Another fun factabout Evo that I just learned is that the number of melee competitors almost doubled from 2014 to 2015, jumping from 970 to 1869.
