  1. You should check out MF Doom/ Madvillian he goes by those two names. Especially if you like comics, he puts a bunch of samples of old Fantastic Four cartoons in his music and it's really awesome. And my PSN name is duster_099, when I get back from school we should definitely play Persona 4 Arena, cause it's my favorite. I wish Yosuke was my main but he's so hard to use correctly, so I use Yu instead. And that's a good suggestion for Smash Kams thanks a lot, I am going to test this team out on Aya tonight, so everyone wish me luck! Thanks for all the help and suggestions!
  2. What about Chrom from the newest Fire Emblem? I feel like this was a brain dead choice but not a lot of people are talking about him and he hasn't been announced yet.
  3. I started the game earlier, but I didn't get very far and I want to restart just cause I hate the pokemon I have. I only beat Julia so after that I have no idea what will happen. Any advice? I have heard how difficult it is and I am honestly pretty worried that I am going to screw myself over if I don't make the right choices. I am about to pick a starter and I am trying to choose between Froakie, Mudkip, and Chimchar, as they are all my favorites. So basically, is there anything I should be careful of? Any pokemon that will help me early? What do I need to succeed in the world of Reborn?
  4. Everyone go look at the RMT and check out my new league team!

  5. Second Chances Duster's second challenge of The Reborn League Hello everyone. Duster is here. If you don't know me you may have seen my picture on the wall of fame. I won the league smack dap in the middle of Gen 5, although I never completed the X League. After Gen 6 came out, I wanted to re-challenge the League with all the fantastic new pokemon (ahem Protean Greninja), and see how the League has changed in a year. To go into more detail about myself, I have been gone for about a year due to school and other stress related reasons, and Reborn has changed a lot in this time (all in good ways). Some of my good friends on the site were Dark Desire and Kamina, and I posted my return in the ace forums, and many suggested that I post more to be involved in the community. I plan to use this RMT as help for my League team, but also as a get-to-know type of section. You'll see what I mean when you scroll down to the RMT. Anyway, let's get started! At a Glance I always liked teams with a good balance of offense and bulk for the League. I have some fairly bulky pokes with Aegislash, Scrafty, Venusaur, Arcanine, and Aerodactyl and Greninja are my two speedsters. This balanced approached allows flexibility and some good options for multiple leaders teams. Also the synergy here is great. Aegislash and Scrafty have a great core, Aegislash stops fairies that Scrafty hates, and Aegislash stops the flying and fighting types that Scrafty strongly dislikes. Venusaur, Arcanine, and Greninja have a FWG core, and Greninja stops the psychic types that Venusaur wants to avoid. Aerodactyl is just a great supporter and has STAB rock-slide for double and triple battles. Anyways, on with the analysis, and er the getting to know me part! Team/Duster Analysis The nature/EVs will most likely change per leader, but I will put the ones that I will most likely be using for most situations Smash (Greninja) Ability: Protean Nature: Timid/Modest EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Sp Attack/ 252 Speed Moveset -Surf -Dark Pulse -Ice Beam -U-Turn/ Extrasensory/ Grass Knot Ah Super Smash Brothers, how to describe how much I love you. I have been playing since I was a kid, and I just started getting the competitive Melee scene over the past couple months, and I am hoping to break out once Smash 4 comes out. Once the 3DS version is released I expect everyone who plays to give me their friend code and we will have hours of For Glory matches. I will be maining Greninja because- A) He is amazing. He is my favorite starter. And C). He looks like he will be a competitive force to be reckoned with. But to begin, Smash (Greninja) is a badass. Getting STAB on everyone of his attacks just screams to be used in the League. He hits the majority of leaders super effectively, and he gets two multi targeting moves for triple and double battles. Ice Beam is a no brainer, but the last moveslot is the one I am having trouble with. U-Turn seems like it would be great in singles, but useless in double and triple battles. Extrasensory isn't a great type to get STAB on, but it could help with some strong fighting types that might give him trouble. Grass knot is purely for bulky waters. Thoughts? Hakuman (Aegislash) Ability: Stance Change Nature: Quiet EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Attack/ 252 Sp Attack Moveset: -King's Shield -Shadow Ball -Iron Head -Shadow Sneak Hakuman represents my love for BlazBlue and other 2D fighting games such as Persona 4 Arena and King of Fighters. This summer I am planning on buying the new one BB, and then I will wreck with my main man Bang. Yes, Hakuman isn't my main, but hey he was the closest fit to Aegislash as the cool armored knight looking guy, so don't get mad. PSN names anyone for Chronophantasma? I opted for the mixed attacking set over the Sword Dance because frankly I think it is better, but especially better for the League. I also chose Iron Head over Sacred Sword because I need to take out fairies for Scrafty. Shadow Ball is the main move of choice, and if I just spam it along with King's Shield then there isn't going to be much in the way that can take this thing except for bulky normals… This is where Scrafty comes in. MF Doom (Scrafty) Abilities: Intimidate/ Moxie/ Shed Skin Nature: Adamant/ Jolly EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Att/ 252 Speed Moveset: -Dragon Dance -Rock Slide -Drain Punch/ Hi Jump Kick -Crunch Anyone here listen to hip-hop? I am just a huge music fan of all genres, feel free to talk to me about any bands or artists you like. I love MF Doom, he is my all time favorite hip-hop artist. And yes, he is wearing a Dr. Doom mask. The story behind his mask is that his twin brother died when Doom was just starting making music under a different name. After this tragic event he secluded himself and came out as a "supervillian." He adopted this persona of MF Doom, and he wears this mask to all his shows and when making music. Anyway his rhymes are super awesome so if you like music/rap and haven't heard of this guy check him out. Scrafty is a boss. Three great abilities that all can serve a purpose in the League. Intimidate is great for double and triple battles, Moxie is perfect for sweeping, and Shed Skin can be used for a leader trying to stall me. He is my only sweeper on my team, but I feel like I only need one because most battles are double or triple battles. His moveset is a pretty standard sweeping set. Rock Slide is important, again, for double and triple battles. Dark is such a great STAB this gen so Crunch is necessary. I'm debating whether to go with power in Hi Jump Kick or Drain punch for longevity, probably the later to avoid the dangerous recoil, but any suggestions would be nice. Socrates (Venusaur) Abilities: Overgrow/ Chlorophyll Nature: Modest/ Timid/ Calm/ Bold EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Sp Att/ 252 Speed Or 4 Sp Att/ 252 HP/ 252 Defense (or Sp Defense) Moveset: -Sunny Day -Sleep Powder -Giga Drain -Sludge Bomb/ HP Fire Okay so I am weird. I like school (kinda), philosophy really. I want to teach it when I am older, you know do the whole professor thing and teach a subject that doesn't matter that much in real world application. But hey I like it, so f*** people who tell me I am not going to get a job. Socrates also started the entire philosophical movement and Bulbasaur is the first Pokemon on the Pokedex, so he kinda started the whole Pokemon movement. Hurray for symbolism! Venusaur is probably the most diverse pokemon on my team. He is a supporter with Sunny Day for Arcanine, he can sweep with chlorophyll, or he can go bulky and simply put pokemon to sleep with sleep powder. His typing is also fantastic and along with Aegislash he glues this whole team together. Giga Drain is for pseudo recovery, and I am not exactly sure what to put for the second attacking slot. Sludge Bomb gets STAB and is stronger, but HP Fire makes sure he isn't walled by Steels, and it gets pseudo STAB in sun. I kinda need help with this one so any suggestions would be nice. Koromaru (Arcanine) Abilities: Intimidate/ Flash Fire/ Justified Nature: Adament/ Jolly EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Attack/ 252 Speed Moveset: -Heat Wave -Flare Blitz -Extremespeed -Close Combat/ Wild Charge Koromaru represents my love for the Persona series. Yes, I know Persona is super popular on the site, but I love Persona just as much as everyone else. Koromaru is the dog in Persona 3 that has a persona and helps you fight against shadows. Koromaru was a perfect choice for Arcanine. They both are head strong and have a strong sense of justice. Koromaru's persona is also based off fire so win/win. Side note, those who are here is excited for Persona 5 be even more excited it looks amazing. Arcanine is a great pokemon. Great offensive move pool and mixed attacking stats. Heat wave hits multiple targets, Flare Blitz is a powerhouse behind his strong attack, Extremespeed is a crazy good priority move. I am thinking close combat for the last slot so he won't get walled by Rock types, but I already have a Scrafty for fighting. I have no electric type move on my team, and without Wild Charge he would be walled by bulky waters. Suggestions here would be great. Arcanine's abilities are also fantastic. He gets a intimidate core in Scrafty, he also has immunity to fire moves with Flash Fire.. Justified can be used against Luna and get an attack boost from it. Michael Scott (Aerodactyl) Abilities: Rock Head/ Unnerve Nature: Adamant/ Jolly EVs: 4 HP/ 252 Attack/ 252 Speed Moveset: -Taunt -Roost -Earthquake -Rock Slide The Office gets funnier and funnier every time I watch it. It probably is my all time favorite, I haven't laughed as hard ever as I watched some of these shows. There is no reason why I am naming Aerodactyl Michael Scott except for I think it is hilarious. I am going end on a Michael Scott quote. Yes, it is true. I, Michael Scott, am signing up with an online dating service. Thousands of people have done it, and I am going to do it. I need a username. And I have a great one. Little Kid Lover. That way people will know exactly where my priorities are at. This is the one pokemon I would probably change if someone gave me a good argument to get rid off it. Aerodactyl is the perfect pokemon in double and trible battles. Unnerve stops berries from working, he is super duper fast, rock slide gets a STAB mulit hit move, Earthquake can be used in conjunction with Aegislash and King's Shield. Taunt is necessary to stop some leaders strategies. Roost is just to heal. But I still don't like Aerodactyl on this team quite truthfully. He will not be able to do much in singles, and I prefer a more balanced pokemon. I hope you guys got to know me a little better and I hope anyone has comments they can share with me to improve my team!
  6. GRENINJA IS GOING TO BE SO AWESOME I did not expect this at all. I am very excited to see how he/she will turn out as character, definitely looks like a total badass. (Still waiting for Lloyd Irving though, because you know one Bandai Namco character needs to be in the game)
  7. Late reply buuuuuuut They are two of my favorite Tales characters, so it is hard to choose. Zelos is one of the funniest characters I have encountered in a video game, and I really like his backstory. And well Kratos just has that undeniable cool factor, but in battle I prefer Zelos. Demon Fang! Demon Fang! Damn I must be a genius! Double Demon Fang! Ah, classic Zelos.
  8. I just started a save file and I chose Protean Froakie. Completely OP, I blew through the first gym because I had lick, self-destruct and sonic boom meant nothing to me. Protean is the most fun for sure out of all the abilities. But yeah, Chimchar is good too.
  9. I'm afraid Jigglypuff will be out this game, as much as that disappoints me. I can't see any reason to why Sakurai would put her in. I'm surprised Chrom hasn't shown up yet, but I feel like he is an obvious choice to either replace or join Ike. I thought Toon Link and Lucario were wasted spots quite truthfully. I understand Wind Waker received an HD remake on Wii U, but there is no reason for Lucario to be over Mewtwo, especially with the emphasis Nintendo put on Gen 1 for this new generation. I was hoping that my favorite hero in gaming history, Lloyld Irving, would make an appearance. With Namco Bandai directing the story and with a new remake of Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World (even though they were on PS3), I thought he had a great possibility, but sadly it doesn't seem likely. Hopefully, Isaac from Golden Sun will enter the ring. The only characters they have had from a rpg was from Mother, and it is a non-traditional rpg at that. I was thinking they would try to add some variety. I guess Pokemon is technically an rpg but I don't really consider it to be a true one. I also think fighting on the back of the dragon from Fire Emblem: Awakening would make an awesome stage in the 3DS version. Also, anyone else find it weird that Captain Falcon hasn't been introduced yet? He's a smash icon.
  10. I saw the dating system element and cried tears of happiness, then I realized it was a trick and cried tears of pain. Why u do this Ame why
  11. Considering everything else in OU, I'm suprised that Kyurem-B is still Uber. I agree it should be bumped down.
  12. Nostalgia, Ultra. Wuddup Reborn, be prepared for my first ever RMT and let me tell you it will be a doozy. To give you a backstory of my experience at BW2, it has been awful. In plain old BW I peaked at number 3 with a balanced rain team with a core of Toxicroak and Latias. That was great. I felt really accomplished and proud and whatnot, but then BW2 came around. The meta-game became so unbelievable offensive with the new popularity of Genesect and I just couldn't adjust to it. My world of balanced/defensive teams was slowly crumpling before me and I didn't know what to do. Lost, confused, and afraid I retreated to the dark corners of the 1100 rating. Then a warm ray of hope revealed itself to me. I saw a beautiful rain core of Kingdra, Ludicolo, and Breloom and this hyper offensive team was born. I have to thank Rupe and whoever popularized Kingdra/Ludicolo because from their two respective rain teams I found the inspiration to make this one, but just for kicks here is a pic of me peaking. Yayyyyyyy for my highest ranking ever. Anyway here is the team. Deoxys-S EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spd Nature: Timid (-Atk, +Spd) Trait: Pressure Item: Focus Sash -Spikes -Stealth Rock -Taunt -Shadow Ball Deoxys-S is the best lead in the game for spikes and stealth rock. This is set simple, lay as many entry hazards as possible. Taunt to prevent other taunts and entry hazards and shadow ball if they send out a Xatu or Espeon. I used to have magic coat over shadow ball, but Xatu has become so popular that I had to replace it. Politoed EVs: 252 HP/ 252 Def Nature: Bold (-Atk, +Def) Trait: Drizzle Item: Leftovers -Scald -Perish Song -Ice beam -Protect Pretty self explanatory defensive toad set. Ice beam for dragons, protect for lefties and to scout Genesect. If anyone has a better set let me know. Kingdra EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spd Nature: Modest (-Atk, +SAtk) Trait: Swift Swim Item: Choice Specs -Surf -Hydro Pump -Draco Meteor -Ice Beam Hell yeah. First part of my core. If predict right some poke is going to die by this thing. This set really is all about prediction though. If I use surf and someone switches into Amoongus, opposing Kingdra, or a poke that absorbs water then I lose momentum. So it takes skill, but it is really really good. It will sweep teams with rocks and spikes if they aren't prepared to handle it. Breloom EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 Spd Nature: Jolly (-SAtk, +Atk) Trait: Technician Item: Fist Gem -Spore -Swords Dance -Bullet Seed -Mach Punch Double hell yeah. Breloom does a great job of threatning all opposing weather and Ferrothorn, which are two giant thorns in my side. Unfortunately, it adds another problem with Xatu, which is currently the most annonying poke for me to face, but besides that it is fantastic. Fist gem over life orb because it dies extremely quickly with recoil. Ludicolo EVs: 252 SAtk/ 252 Spd Nature: Timid (-Atk, +Spd) Trait: Swift Swim Item: Life Orb -Surf -Ice Beam -Giga Drain -Focus Blast Triple hell yeah. My primary goal is to sweep with this bad boy. It has great coverage and is walled by very very few pokes under rain ( Chansey and Blissey are the only two that come to mind). Timid over Modest to outspeed Scarf Genesect which is really nice. With the opponents team weakened by Kingdra and Breloom this thing should have no problem being a late game cleaner. All praise goes to the Mexican. Azumarill EVs: 252 Atk/ 252 HP Nature: Adamant (-SAtk, +Atk) Trait: Huge Power Item: Choice Band -Aqua Jet -Waterfall -Superpower -Frustration I really have no idea what to put in this last spot. I peaked using Azumarill, so thats why I'm putting it here. But recently I have started using Porygon2 and it has worked out really well. It just depends what my mood is. Azumarill provides a nice secondary priority, but gets walled by the most common rain counters such as Jellicent, Amoongus, and Latias, but provides more offensive presence than Porygon2, despite Porygon2 beating it in the bulk category. It just depends, still it does its job well. So there is the team. I love any criticism to make it better, because the meta has now shifted to counter teams like this. Pokes like Amoongus and Xatu are becoming commonplace and I'm having a hard time handling them. And just if your curious, the name of the team comes from the album I was listening to while making this rmt, check it out it's really cool.
  13. I see everyone complaining about the special Ludicolo, and if your really contemplating using a physical rain sweeper why not sub-dragon dance Kingdra? It has nearly the same resistances to Ludicolo but the added bonus of being protected by status with substitute. Just food for thought if you need a physical sweeper.
  14. Loving the sub Thundurus, awesome team Kams Even though Donphan is semi-named after me, I still say you replace it with something more offensive... I'm not sure what though
  15. Umm how about Kamina x Dark Desire x Duster? I'm feeling lonely qq
  16. The games sounds cool, but I just hate how they literally stole the idea of smash bros for the Playstation. I don't know, I'm weird so that bugs me.
  17. Wuddup Alice welcome to reborn
  18. Everyone go see Looper RIGHT NOW

    1. Epic C

      Epic C

WHAT IF I DONT WANT TO?

      WHAT NOW BRO?

  19. Actually, I don't consider it ripping off or stealing. As the world becomes "smaller" more and more countries are admiring other culture's practices. This could be said for everyone, Westerners with anime, Easterners with towering skyscrapers and big cities, and all cultures are starting to experience other countries food. I almost think its a form of flattery, not ripping or stealing.
  20. This actually a pretty intelligent topic. The idea of individualism in the west expands to religion as well. If you look at western religions its extremely monotheistic (one personal god) while in eastern religions its more of a mystery, something that can't be described (Hinduism has thousands of gods, but they all come from essentially the same indescribable essence) Asian food is also better trololololol
  21. Duster

    Abilities?

Oh whoops my bad Ame I must have not seen that.
  22. I feel like I'm the only person on reborn who doesn't play league of legends. But still great to have you and welcome!
  23. Duster

    Abilities?

I've already asked about starters abilities, but what about regular abilities? I just got scraggy with moxie to abuse Florina but moxie isn't working. Is it safe to assume that gen 5 abilities aren't up and running yet?
