Leaving the entire building causes it to crash. Thank you!

Hi, I have a crash I keep encountering. In Ametrine City any time I speak to the kid who gives you the Old Amber for a Pidove and try to leave the building the game crashes. I've tried both giving him a Pidove, leaving without giving him one, and using a party made entirely of Vanilla pokemon, but it crashes no matter what. How has Wild Encounter Rates been included in the base game? Is it a Password?

This game has consumed so much of my life over the last few years! I'm so hyped to see the end in sight
