Are the raid shadow Pokemon required?

Besides just having the Pokemon, is there really any reason to catch the shadow Pokemon that appear in the raid dens? Do you get more karma points or is there a special anything if you purify all of the different varieties that show up?

From what I know of, they don’t impact karma nor does anything special happen, I personally think they are there to keep rejuvenation updated with gen 8 and add more purpose and relevance to shadow Pokemon in the game

Also some rare pokemon you can’t find anywhere in the game can be found in the dens, for example ditto

Any info on how to get Ditto easier? I read that it only shows up in the blue beams, but does it only show up at one certain den?

I think it shows up only under blue beams, but at the den closest to the wispy ruins exit. If you search ditto in the forum I think someone was talking about it earlier
