You suddenly find yourself as the Protagonist of a random Video game, and one of these mysterious figures will guide your path.

These two figures only appear to certain people, at certain times.

 

Igor has been an important figure in every Persona protagonist's journey. He's the one doing the Persona Fusion, and he manages the Velvet Room.

 

The G-Man is an important figure in Half-Life, and plays the role of Overseer to the Half-Life Universe. He appears to only a few people in the Half-Life universe, most Notably Gordon Freeman. At times, he helps. At other times, he hinders.

 

These are characters whose origins are mysterious. We know slightly more about Igor than we do the G-Man, but not by a whole much. 

 

You have to put your life in either one of these people's hands. Would you trust people you don't know anything about? Well, it's not like you have a choice.

 

Just to be fair to the G-Man, this game doesn't involve Personas at all, so Igor's Persona Fusion is useless.

I'm also biased and haven't played any half life game. Although Igor doesn't exactly help you so much as he is able to perform services for you after you've done a bunch of stuff to earn them and generally just giving you the the ages old advice of connecting with others so that such bonds will strengthen you, especially your psyche.

Honestly either Igor from the Persona franchise, even the evil one can at least be reasoned with and is true to his deals which is kinda unique among the versions of YHVH in the SMT franchise.
